These rod bend videos are great! When there's not many baitshops around to check out rods and you have to buy online these videos help soo much and I personally love hearing the weight of each rod. I think doing the $150 daiwa tatula rod line would help some people since I couldn't find much online about a bunch of the models.
I wish the weights were listed on the site too. Might consider going through each rod maker lines that you offer, differentiating the uses on each rod or line
I really love this series. That SC is awesome. I'm looking forward to getting it, but in the victory series. I know y'all don't sell em, but I recently just got an Okuma guide select, 7' M mod fast and it's absolutely awesome for squares.
I have 5 different rods that are great for Squarebills. Without a doubt, the best (and least expensive) is the Dobyns Fury 705CB. What a great stick! It will throw baits down to 1/4 oz but 5/16 and up is best. Plenty of power. I caught an 8 lb 7 oz on it just this last week. Loads and casts a mile but plenty of parabolic make up with Dobyns CB modulous. I simply don’t see what you would want anything else for most squarebills up to about a DT 8 or so. Please bend this rod. Love to see the results!
Love glass for squarebills. Wading in rivers, it's helpful to have that slow reaction, especially if you're waste-deep and a fish slams it right next you.
Shimano expride 7’2 mhg is my square bill rod of choice enough bend and enough power make sure to pair it with a mgl reel and you can launch 3/8oz cranks on it
I own an Orochi Flatside Special. It’s a great rod for squarebills however, I would not rate it a once better than my Dobyns Fury 705CB. It is just special. It’s not a money issue for me, it’s a performance issue. It is just “right”. Please include one in your next series. It and the Dobyns Kaden 6’10” Medium/ mod fast are both great rods.
The 6’10” Kaden Medium Mod fast is my dedicated top water rod. Poppers like a skitterpop or a spook jr is right in its wheelhouse. Does really well with jerk baits as well.
Flatside Special in Levante is great for not only squarebill, but also smaller walking baits and poppers. I have all Megabass rods, and not gonna lie, the Orochi XX series just doesn't do it for me. Beautiful rods, but they feel clunky compared to the X10 series.
This guy ALWAYS tends towards the heavier, longer rods in heavy power. Not everyone fishes like that. Get someone else else on here with a different perspective please.
I think he goes by what people ask them to try to be fair. The first one is a flatside special is only 7 ft and med power . I have it, it can fish down to 1/4 oz cause of moderate or a 1.0 crank but not BFS trout stuff. For tight quarters i go with a MB destroyer 6'5 110 stick or even MB 6'11 jerkbait special that still are great for squarebills .

I couldn’t agree more!
Thanks for watching! We'll definitely consider that 👍 Great line of rods for the price!
@@omniafishing absolutely
I’ll keep saying it - I really appreciate the fact you are adding in the physical weight of the rod.

Another great bend test. In part 2 I would like to see a Dobyns 705cb and a Zodias/Expride 7’ MG
Thank you for the suggestions!
Next edition of cranking rods you should do just compare graphite to graphite and glass to glass. It would be cool to see apples to apples
Great feedback!

Thanks for tuning in! We're going to keep 'em coming!
@@omniafishing any idea when the SC victory 7.4 H will be back in stock? Been waiting for that rod for a while.
Lavante series has a Flatside Special and it’s great!

Do you ever throw any topwater on them?

That’s the All Around right? Great rod
@@TimothyMiller-s6dYes. A lot of people use it for squarebills including myself
