I love the Ford LTD Crown Victoria, it is luxurious, I like when it sounds when you insert the key into the ignition switch, it sounds: "clin, clin, clin"....
My first car when I got my driver's license was a 86 crown Vic i got in 1992 same condition as that one. Mine was light blue with navy blue landau vinyl roof and navy blue interior. Best car i ever owned had only 38 thousand miles. I miss it. I would love to have another one
This car does look beautiful. I had a 1985 and drove it for 9 years. Not as heavy or smooth as my 1979 Lincoln Town Car that preceded it, but it was probably the most comfortable and easy to drive car I’ve ever had. Got up to nearly 200,000 miles on it when the “little stuff” told me it was time to let it go. Never did have any issues w engine or transmission. The trick w the power windows was to leave the glass cracked on hot days. If not, the glass would stick to rubber seals and “pop” the wire cable when you first tried to move the window. I followed up with a 1993 Crown Vic for 7 years, but liked the easy driving of the 1985 model better. What is story of muffler - not straight piped (?) but something bypassed ? Has car sold ?
Yeah I agree completely. This car is super comfortable and very easy to drive. The previous owner cut and removed the exhaust about halfway down the intermediate pipe. I didn’t like it so I recently installed a brand new factory exhaust from the cat back. It’s now super quiet again. I still have the car!
This was back when they made true American Automobiles. The Grand Marquis and Town Cars shared the same platform as I’m sure you know that lol. Anyway these are hard to come by like the shape this LTD is in.
Nice. I’m working on an ‘85 LTD CV presently. Belonged to my late father in law. Rebuilt engine-5L, new top, nice interior. Body in good shape as well. Just under 100k miles. May get it repainted. Overall it’s not as nice as yours. Though. Thanks for showing.
Now that's what I am talking about this or the Chevrolet Caprice Classic and Chrysler 5th Avenue lol to hell with electric and hybrids . I have owned some of these land barges you cannot compare rides like a cloud .
Could you kindly replace the chime in this Crown Vic with a customized warning sound that plays the Bubble Bobble Death Skulls Appear music from the original arcade version of Bubble Bobble for the key in ignition and seatbelt reminder?
Im 22 just but a 1986 ltd for 3500 not as beautiful condition as yourd but it runs good does everything great i got roll up windows 😂 i love it and the feeling of opening and closing the doors is wonderful
Sooo glad too know that a guy like you found that car..
Thanks for sharing! I'd love to see you on the road sometime soon (central Ohio here myself)

Excellent post. Although I loved the '92 and later Crown Vics, I prefer the 5.0 liter V8 over the 4.6 liter V8 and I like the boxy styling of the 80s.

Yeah you certainly don’t see too many on the road anymore. It’s such a great car. Comfortable and easy to drive. Thanks!
