      It's currently 10% off at Sweetwater! Mine came in yesterday, and I couldn't be more pleased. That Chrissy Hynde pickup does sound old school awesome! The newer pickups were designed to be hotter and more "modern". The great thing about a tele is sooooo many aftermarket parts, you can easily dial in your own sound.

      @@GetOffsetI have a player strat and a silver sky SE. I hear the tele is more country and very similar but seemingly a bit thicker or beefier tone than the jingle bell strat sound. Is their much reason to justify one, if someone like me has two Stratocaster types. I do have a sheraton 335 and epiphone les paul classic too. I was possibly thinking of selling off one strat and maybe having a tele to replace it.

    Emily did such a nice job of demonstrating this guitar and comparing the noiseless pickups to the standard tele ones. Fender has a real winner on it’s hands and what’s not to like about this guitar. It has great tone and desirable specs at a decent price point. I really like that new birch green color, which as Emily pointed out, gives the guitar a nice aged look.

    I use the noise gate. That's how you get rid of the 60 cycle. Hum. I've never even heard it. It seems weird. Fender competing with itself. If there's squires they're getting better, why don't they just call them fenders. Are the machines different in Indonesia? Do the people of Indonesia not know how to make guitars compared to the people of Mexico and the USA because that's a bit ethnocentric. I got a squire telly I bought off of Amazon used. The only thing I could see that was wrong with it is it just wasn't set up as good as a nicer more expensive Fender. Otherwise in the right hands it sounds beautiful. I've heard the guy who set it up play all sorts of really nice jazz chords. Really nice tone. You know, sometimes it's not the guitar. It's the person playing it. I don't mean to be mean. But if I want to upgrade my ceramic pickups which work just fine I can. And the body is already routed out for humbuckers so I don't know. Squires a little bit more punk rock. Fender is establishment.

Was designed by the ( Seth Lover ). I will eventually get another Telecaster with the lipstick single coil in the neck.

    Only halfway through this revealing vid (thanks for actually showing the SOUNDS without noodling getting in the way, as is the case with many reviewers), and I must say I‘m not enthused about that bridge sound. I crave a bit more brightness, especially since I tune all my guitars down to C# standard and use thicker gauge strings. Now I‘m wondering what kind of pickups they chose to use on the new Player II Jazzmaster….. Hopefully not another flavor of P90s.

    • @GetOffset
      @GetOffset  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I for sure think the bridge will be a little polarizing. Ultimately, I ended up liking it quite a bit and think it might make a Tele more of an option for folks who don't like how bright the bridge usually is, ya know?

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Emily‘s comparison would/will surely be very helpful, but for what it‘s worth, I had (and returned) the Vinterra II JM and currently own the new Player II JM (as well as a MiJ JM that cost about twice as much). My verdict in a nutshell: The Vinterra II was/is fantastic, and I loved its pickup sound like crazy, but couldn’t deal with the neck (narrow & thick). The MiJ was my compromise, but now that I also have the Player II, man, that thing is the cat‘s pyjamas!!! Great neck, feel and TONE. Sounds like JM to me, and I‘m flirting with selling my MiJ. No mods needed on the Player II to make it sound and feel great (or maybe I was just lucky). Finally some pickups that have what it takes to earn the JM name. The Vinterra II had that, too (maybe even more so?), but it just wasn‘t my cup of tea otherwise.

    • @nunobarbosa77
      @nunobarbosa77 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@scottbecker3485 thanks! Just about the sound, how do you compare both? I own the vintera ii right now, and the neck is pretty skinny, like the modern C of my player 1 jazzmaster. Maybe there are differences around the globe on the neck specs?

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nunobarbosa77 Well, it‘s a bit hard for me to reliably compare the sound for you, since I returned the Vintera II about 8 months ago, and only got the Player 2 a few weeks back. But from memory, I‘d say that both have a pleasing treble liveliness and plenty of responsiveness and „punch“ in the mids and lows. Perhaps the Vintera sounded a bit closer to „vintage“ sounds, but the Player 2 is well-balanced across the pickup settings, with all settings being usable, at least for me. Both models have what I consider to be a thickness and „throaty“ quality, like a JM should. Tonally, I could easily live with both. But as I pointed out, the neck of the Vintera II wasn‘t for me. As you point out, the neck is rather skinny/narrow, but also - at least for me - too thick. Although I have somewhat large hands with longish fingers, I found it hard to use my thumb to play bass notes, e.g. on an F chord. The neck of the Player 2 is sort of a modern standard, and fits me perfectly. It’s not so thick, and it‘s a bit wider, and I can easily thumb bass notes. It feels very comfortable to me. I hope these impressions help you. Oh, and there are no differences in neck specs around the globe.

    • @nunobarbosa77
      @nunobarbosa77 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@scottbecker3485 Thank you! I really want to hear the difference between the 50's style pickups and the new player ones, hope someone could make that video. About the neck, probably there are differences world wide, my vintera 2 doesn't have a thick neck at all. Actually i think it's a bit thinner than my jazzmaster player one, and american performer strat, wich both has modern C necks. I found it strange because i was reading everywhere that the vintera ii has a thicker neck than the modern C, and when i grab it the first time i was shocked about feeling it so thin. My both modern C necks are thicker and wider for sure. But i love this one and it looks great too :) other thing i might had luck was with the bridge, it's not rattling at all. Cheers! And thank you for the feedback!

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nunobarbosa77 Interesting that your Vintera II neck doesn‘t appear to be „thick“. Perhaps that is just my subjective impression of it due to its relative thinness, i.e. lack of width. At any rate, it‘ll probably be hard to find any comparison of these two models. If you‘re happy with the Vintera II, though, why bother to compare with the Player 2 at all (just curious)? I really think the Vintera II is fantastic overall, and can confirm that the bridge on mine was also fine, with no rattle (unlike the bridge on my Made in Japan Traditional Late 60s, which I replaced). The Vintera 2 is a highly musical JM, and that‘s all that counts. :-) For me, the Player 2 is the better fit, and sounds enough like a JM to make me happy.

    Seems like a really solid Tele. Those pickups sound great to me. I usually really prefer bright and snappy bridge pickups and on my main T I changed the stock MIJ pickup to something more trad bright but the guitar just died as a result, went from being my goto studio solution guitar to hardly being played at all and I reckon these are going to be just as versatile.

      Unfortunately, I don't have enough hands-on experience with the American Performer to give you a good yes or no on it. I'm not sure I'd recommend the Vintera 1 line for similar reasons.
