Thanks for sharing your adventures I recently became a LDMA member and am gearing up to get started in the near future. What (in your opinion) are the start-up things ? I realize you two have accumulated things over the years but what are the basic needs for newbies? Enjoy your adventures best of luck Mike
You need a good pick ax or rock hammer, a couple shovels, a gold pan for the field the garret super sluice is good, a couple classiifiers, a couple buckets, muck boots and waders. Next step would be a sluice box. That would be the basics. After that it gets expensive. Highbanker, drywasher, dredge, vac pac, gold cube, detector and on and on. The older I get the more I think an ATV is required to carry me and my stuff, but they are real spendy. God luck hope this helps.

Oh the wife added a snuffer bottle need a way to get all the gold you find out of your pan.
