Love this! I started writing in my "One Line A Day" journal on Jan 1, 2017, when I was only 11 y/o and now I've started my 2nd journal as a 17 y/o! It's so interesting because each year I can see my handwriting improve as I get older (I guess that's the best part about starting so young).
I bought a “Some Lines A Day” from Leuchtturm1917 journal to start January 2021. I was terrible and skipped most of the year. My resolution/goal for 2022 was to challenge myself to journal each day this year! For each day I missed last year I went back and just put a gratitude entry. That way the day is filled in and by the end of this year it will be complete. I’m OCD so missing entries bothered me! 🤣. Now I’m almost 1/2 way through the second year and I love it. Each year I use a different color ink and I absolutely love the way it looks! Another tip - for set dates (dates that don’t change - birthdays, Christmas, 4th of July, St. Patrick’s Day, etc) I use stickers and decorate a little bit. I am so happy and grateful for this journal! Thank you so much for the tips! God bless you!
Omg that's a great idea Carolyn!! The different colors per year is awesome, and decorating the journal with stickers feels so fun too! Thank you for the cool tips! 🙌 I'm so happy your having fun with journaling ❤️
What great ideas! I love the idea of short sentences, abbreviations, and leaving a little room for how I felt, I think this will be interesting looking back. I think the idea about people also is very cool! Making sure to make notes about the people and animals that touch our lives.
This video is so inspiring! I used to journal all of the time and fell out of the habit a few years ago. I did try a 5 year journal for the first time in 2020. It was a Leuchtturn 1917. I really like that brand but I didn’t like that this journal doesn’t have lines for each day and so didn’t keep up with it. I’ve now purchased 2 of the 5 year journals that you have in this video and will be starting them both come January 1st with one of them being specifically for gratitude journaling. I’m so excited! Thanks for sharing your journaling with us.
My mom gave me who e when I was a teen but I was very much not into journaling at the time. After periodic usage I eventually scrapped it. But now that I have begun journalling and enjoy the act of writing (fountain pens and good paper) I am planning on starting one of these again. I am currently planning on making my own out of a Cafe Notes rather than buying one. I am looking forward to the journey.
Thank you for explaining why there are various entries on one page. I love journaling and am looking into seeing if this would be an addition to my journaling practice.
I'm on year 7 of these journals as well. I gave them out as gifts last Christmas My problem is writing everyday. I always feel like I have to write something profound in them. So I'm going back and writing in quotes in the blank spaces. My goal for 2023 is to write everyday no matter how insignificant
I bought one from Typo for 3 years 😊 cant wait to receive it. I use a normal journal but only been writing once or twice a month. Going to start being more committed
I first started keeping a diary because i wanted to be able to take a glance at who i used to be and to more effectively travel through my timeline, also i found a few diaries from that company that are absolutely gorgeous and i am quite verbose so the shorter entry will help me be more to the point.. or i'll learn stenography and end up typing it all afterwards ^^ moreover, i'm turning 25 next month and am at the beginning of a potentially life changing path into my career (as in i'm giving myself the opportunity to do what i think is meaningful and i'm finally starting to start adulting myself) so now seems to be the best time to give it a go... And the fact i feel like i saw My teenage years ride right through and that i still haven't realized the pandemic was almost half a decade ago really makes me want to take more time evaluating my life and priorities and take the lead of it
Same, I wanted to just do a short entry every day so I could remember the ordinary regular days. But I also have a longer journal when I want to write more
I just started yesterday. I like the book, but like other comments, I hate the limited space. I'm going to make my own journal. Create it using Word, print it and then spiral bind it at Office Depot or Staples.
How rude of me. I do want to add that your video is great. I like your presentation and how you look at the camera rather than at yourself. Good job, young lady. PS I followed your advice tonight and used abbreviations when making my journal entry.
I struggled finding motivation to pick up learning Mandarin chinese and i love cursive chinese, i feel like any ideogram would be great for small entries like these
I actually found this exact one, new at the thrift store about a yr ago and I've been afraid to use it because I feel I will skip days. :( has that happened to you? Also I tend to write ALOT (as you can see on this comment, LOL) so I feel like I will need more space, Thanks for this video it really gave me ideas.... hopefully I will actually get on with it!
Hey Laura!!! Omg that's awesome, hope it was a good deal. You should use it!!! (or maybe wait until Jan 1 of 2023). You can start "practicing" for it if you want by using a lined notebook or just regular journal and just write a few sentences each day. Yeah I've totally missed days (usually when travelling) and it really sucks, but sometimes I try to look back at photos or my calendar or texts with friends to see what I did haha. But after doing it for 7 years I rarely miss days, or if I do, it's like 2 days and I can still remember what I did. BTW congrats on half million subs!
Being May (month of the year) I decided to make a digital one line a day journal for June to December where I can see what I did on say the 5th of each month. I’m doing this to test how I like it and if I’ll make a 5 year journal on my own to start in 2024 or buy one?
Got one a couple weeks ago and loving it so far (been using every day)! However, my one slight fear/paranoia is misplacing or losing this. Do you ever worry about that sort of thing, given that you're taking it around with you for five years? And since that's the case, do you (personally) ever think it's worth backing up via scanning? Great video BTW
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, your comment means a lot to me! I have that fear too, but usually I just keep it at home (or it's traveling in my car with me). If I'm traveling around and going to different cities (like backpacking around), sometimes I type it up into my phone and then write it all out when I'm back at home. But if you're traveling and just going to one place and putting it in a hotel, it's fine😁 scanning is a great way to keep it safe once you filled out the 5 years. I've scanned long form journals (since they have more detail about my thoughts which are more keep-worthy) but not my five year journal because after I finish it I just keep it at home lol and it doesn't move
I started one back in October, but started to slack on it during November and idk what to do with that month now because there are so many blank days 😭😭
Oh noooo you can try to go back, look at your calendar, look at who you texted during those times and try to figure it out. I know it's going to be difficult haha. I have some blank spots in my journal too where I totally forgot what I was doing and didn't write it in time
If you want to start, do it! You can look back on your calendar to see what you did in January if you don't want to leave it blank (or if you have a long form journal you can look back). Obviously, you won't remember a lot of details, but it's still better than waiting one whole year to start it😅
I've had 4 of these journals and quit a few years ago. I'm an avid writer, but these books were way too narrow for me to write in (and my handwriting is small). So I gave up and I'm writing in TN (TRC). The Idea is amazing, the size is not for me :(
How are the size? I see that you are also a lefty, has it affected you somehow? Also, do you recommend to write during the day or the evening when the day has happened? Or perhaps in the morning? :)
Hey Jimin! I think the size is perfect for a journal like this. It's not super big but it's sizeable so you can write a couple of things. Being a lefty hasn't affected it at all haha, it's like writing in a normal notebook. I would recommend doing it in the evening once the day has happened because everything is still fresh in your mind. If you do it the morning after, you might forget what happened the day before. So do it before you sleep! Of course, sometimes you might forget to write in it so then just do it in the morning (this happens to me, and it's always harder to remember what I did the day before)
@@DinaLu Haha I have the Q&A and I assume that its the same size. However that one is super small for my big hands so sometimes I feel that its not even my writing style :D Alright I will give it a try at least! Thank you so much! :D
@@jimindetran6163 🤣 okay if you really want a bigger one, I think you might be able to find one if you search for it, or you could create your own custom one by buying a bigger journal but it's a lot more work because you need to draw your own lines
