You were lucky with this one. I tried this scent and it set up on me so quick I didn't even have a chance to pour it. Had to throw out my small containers. Always sad when you lose a batch.
Oh that is a shame. It did set up on my piping which I thought strange. Never throw away soap that you think is a fail. As long as it's not lye heavy and still soap you can still use and even sell it. When a soap sets fast like that, let it sit in the pot until it starts to gel and it becomes fluid again. (Watch my dragons blood video - you'll see what I mean). You can then get it out of the pots and into moulds. Even if it doesn't come out pretty, I sell then as seconds and they fly off the shelves. People even ask if I've had fails 😆 they like then for outdoor sinks etc where they don't want pretty soaps. You can also cut then into small soaps and give away as samples with orders.
@@SoyandShea Thanks for the tips. But this set rock hard in the containers and even soaking in water didn't soften it enough to get it out. Was easier to dump it. I have had lye heavy soap recently too. Love your videos. So informative.
very cool effect on the candy cane icing! slick. now to get it to keep that pow. perhaps let the soap in the mold saponify first? before applying the icing? more time obviously. and im sure you had a very busy day by the looks of it, i even recall a video where you explained you still had the same top on, lol. at the end of the day, its just minor visual details. the quality of this soap is awesome. if I had made that many batches in one day this one would have looked like a kid made it. hehe
It was really strange. I thought as the main batter was really fluid the piping would take a while to firm up so I mixed it. But for some reason, the piping set up super fast so I had to pipe while the base was still fluid 😞 the fragrance must be sensitive to water discounting. The soaps are getting wrapped this week and all are looking and smelling great 😊
@@SoyandShea aaah makes sense. Yea the setting of things can be tricky....amounts can be a factor for sure. Learning experiences are a part of the creative process. Your soaps (and all your products) are top of the line!
I prefer soaps with not the heaped up soap icing, this is just pretty and I wish I will be half as good as you when I start. You are too hard on your self in regards to your piping
