Yes u can just make sure that moisture is the enemy of candy it turns candy soft , so if u want hard candy then wrap in plastic bag to avoid moisture contact, if weather is humid that turns candy soft too.
Sad u didn't made well , Tip don't make on humid day ... don't melt sugar till hard stage, when u put melted sugar in cold water for checking it should form ball but soft not hard like candy... Hope u figure out ur miskaes

I don't have food coloring what can i use???
U can try using fresh fruit juice
Add some sugar in fruit juice boil it till thick syrup forms then cool n use hope this help

No , but if you are making for the first time then make small batch as maybe not get the perfect results in first attempt ..
