This video saved me yesterday…worked hours oiling cleaning, checking needle height and finally timing. Learned so much about the lz1 and adjusted timing after a terrible needle break that left the machine unable to make a stitch. Thanks Sailrite! You just keep getting better and better! Now, off to the zipper tutorial😁
I'm watching before purchasing, I've listened to other people get their machines with issues. Now I know what to look for before starting my first stitch. Take pictures as you start and as you go, it will help in putting together.

Great video! Easy to follow and superb camera work. After a needle strike on my LSZ-1, I had to dress up the hook and cap spring but the timing Is still right on after 6 years. All your videos are so well done that I often just watch them even when not needed. Thanks!
Hi from Wales, UK! I found your superb videos on sewing machine adjustments etc and was able to efficiently sort out a problem on my machine (hook was hitting the needle). Undoubtedly, your videos are the very best I've seen; your commentaries and camera work are outstanding and I've learned so much from you. Thank You so much for sharing the information and for the effort you have made in producing the videos. Absolutely brilliant!
Awesome set of videos. On the LSZ-1, it is not stated where the stitch width and needle position settings are during this timing procedure. My assumption is that it is not relevant, but I am having needle deflection only when the stitch width is set to maximum. Otherwise the stitches are perfect.
It must have been the needle. I replaced the needle and checked clearances as specified in this video and I could not reproduce the problem. Compared to my old Singer 15, this thing is a beast.
Seems like you could also do the same thing with the driver. But this looks easier to get to. I am not sure when you would adjust the driver vs adjusting the basket. Oh I see the gap between the collar and the basket is a factor here.
It should have a little bit of movement, it is not meant to be totally fixed in place. For more help on this topic write info@sailrite.com to start a support case. We are glad to help.
Hello, your sailrite sewing machines, apart from the design, and a few details of the mechanism resemble the singer 237 and singer 239 and it is to be believed if these are the new versions of the singer 237 for the LSZ-1 portable (blue) and the singer 239 for the LS-1 portable (red), these two models of singer machines were manufactured in the early 70s. And if you broadcast videos for adjusting the height of the needle bar and for the timing, it means that this machine has problems with the thicknesses, since the cause of these two misadjustments are the thicknesses
If that is happening it may be that your cap spring is damaged. If this is a Sailrite sewing machine email us for more indepth help at: support@sailrite.com
Tried to sew a jute rope bowl, but remembered after a disaster, it was shredding thread on my last project. Installed a new cap spring, raised the pressure fuut height as high as it would go. Touched alot ofvscrews, and finally did it. Alas, skipping stitches. Have been working on the timing forever. Thought the rotation of hook too far back, i guess not. Maybe the needle is too far away. So now am trying to move it. Two weeks of trial and error. Now im going to thing.check the bobbin holder

Hello, in LSZ, zigzag, does the shuttle move sideways following the needle? I have a machine with an oscillating shuttle but it is facing forward and the LSZ is projected to the side. Would you like to know what is the benefit of this system in LSZ? Thank you!
I have a question for you re: the rotation of the hook (and hook point). I understand about the rotational movement/adjustment of the whole basket, but how about the hook itself? Can the hook (and hook point) and the shaft be rotated clock/anti-clockwise? I notice there is at the end of the shaft a little grub screw. What is the function of that screw? Thanks.
Yes, the hook can be rotated via the "Driver". If this is a Sailrite Ultrafeed sewing machine just email support@sailrite.com for a video on that topic.
Sorry, we don't sell or know anything about the Singer Fashion Mate 6160. Call up your Singer dealer and ask them for help. If you own a Sailrite sewing machine we could help.
I just can't continue sewing, had my lsz since 6 months ago, and it has been a very difficult task , also I have to say is my first machine. But it never work good for more than 5-8 hours. Skiped stitches, upper thread breaking I had tried everything, from re tread, to needle bar height, to driver timing, to left to right timing, to put new needle, to wind the bobin properly, to check thread tension I even bought new cap spring and hook driver because they had a blur And honestly nothing seems to work I cant understand what Im doing wrong. The customer service also stoped responding my emails So as you can read Im very stucked and left alone which I dont think is nice I really need technical help

Io ho una Necchi BU Mira molto simili a quelle che presenti ho la fase quasi perfetta ma non cuce . The crochet needle phase is made: 1 the adjustment of the crochet shell by turning forward / backward + dex / six rotation by acting on the screw of the crochet shaft lock joint + crochet shell shaft (needle centering on the crochet shell channel) 2 crochet buttonhole centering by loosening the block crochet tree and move tree forward / backward. One thing I do not understand, the advance of the tip of the hook on the buttonhole of the needle how to do it? (maybe it's fixed?) I have a Necchi BU Mira very similar to the ones you have, I have the almost perfect phase but it doesn't sew, the only thing left for me to look at is the higher thread tension. Thank you for creating these type of educational videos. I am having skipped stitches and have checked everything on the owners manual to find the cause but still can't fix it. Wish me luck and see if doing this helps .
Thanks for the video, My LS-1 after sewing 30+ stiches, the thread will scramble and it becomes like a little ball. I already order a few replacement parts that goes on the bobbin area. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

Yes, the shuttle moves from side to side when the machine is sewing zig zag, so it moves with the needle when sewing a zig zag from left to right. .
