Hmmm...now the only problem that a lot of us Ryu Hayabusa fans have with this death battle, is the lack of thorough data on Ryu. He can actually slice multiple people and demons with his barehands using his nonpo. In fact, a lot of his nonpo is scientifically explained in the games. In this case, he moves his arms really really fast to generate air waves to decapitate his foes.
I don't know it is possible for a guy to be this warm-hearted and adorable that I watched only one video of him looking at my favorite death battle and I'm already sold. I tip my hat for you sir and please continue to be awesome! :3

How odd, my comment here disappeared... This fight was pretty good, and the outcome is pretty accurate. My only complaint is that Ryu didn't utilize his Nimpo more, it could have made a better difference in the fight. By doing this it would have made Ryu seem less outmatched.
It would have been more fitting if they announced strider first... Strider: NO Place for amateurs. Ryu: Such selfish arrogance... i cannot allow this! Though either way epic deathbattle anyway. just that it sounds like it would be trash talking, if we here the first person instigate. Though this way it seems like Ryu is actually trashing him back calling Ryu an amateur. either way it just cements Striding to Victory.
Although I must say Screwattack did mess this one up by missing two things about Ryu. One Ryu is actually stronger did Strider and evidence of this is in Ninja Gaiden 2 the description in the art of the Wind blades where it clearly shows he can easily cut limbs off with his hands. In Ninja Gaiden 3 Ryu was able to stop sword slashes from a goddess who was the size of a skyscraper. Finally number 2 Ryu and Hiryu are even in speed, they can both dodge anti aircraft firing. Also shown clearly in Ninja Gaiden 3. I could say Ryu is faster consider one of the greater fiends he defeats fires lighting attacks that he can dodge as well.

what i hate most about this death battle is that they conveniently left out Ryu's healing agents and buffers (herb of life, grains of spirtual life, the devil mushroom, and the talisman of rebirth). Ryu got seriously gipped.
I'm sure somebody's told you by now, but that clip with the baby is from a great little short called "Fight for Kisses". It's definitely worth checking out

I never played either game, so it came down to a coin toss, whilst I had been sure that it came to sci-fi versus magic, in a pinch. I was 55/45 on the side of Strider, as I was actually not sure. I could not even figure it out after the analysis, but as soon as I saw the weapons being destroyed by strider, that was what gave it away for me.
How can you not love country music, right Ris? On a completely unrelated note, the Strider games look really fun, but from the reputation of the Ninja Gaiden games, I'm thinking Ryu's series is a bit to hard for me.

It surprises me that you haven't heard of Ryu from the Ninja Gaiden games and Hiryu from the Strider games (but more people tend to know him from Marvel vs Capcom or Capcom crossovers) considering that both of these characters were well-known and frequently appeared on lists as one of the top 10 video game ninjas.
Besides the fact that "ninjas are farmers rebelling against oppressive samurai" is complete bullshit, I loved this Death Battle. (Ninjas WERE samurai. They were literally samurai black ops agents.)
My only complaint about this death battle is that little bit about how ninjutsu was created by peasants. That's actually a misconception, actual ninjas were of the samurai caste themselves, and fought alongside normal samurai, because, well, they WERE samurai. It's just that they also did espionage in addition to their normal samurai duties.

More than likely it would be Strider just based on his massive amount of experience. Kenshin may be a master of Hitenmitsurugi but Strider can dodge bullets meant just to kill people like him who can dodge gunfire. Also take into account their swords, unlike Ryu's here which was mystical in it's properties Kenshin's is simply a reversed blade sword meant to show his resolve to never kill again. Strider's sword would cut right through it with little to no resistance.
leon thompson Not a problem I've seen both series so it was just what I could think of off the top of my head. Even if Kenshin has fought people just as fast as himself it is very harsh on his body to move that fast so with all of Strider's skills and training taken into account along with Kenshin's it's almost entirely clean cut that Kenshin would be killed as Strider has fought godlike beings while Kenshin's have all been highly trained humans.

What happens in the fight has no impact on the outcome. It's just an animation to show their research.
I am fully aware of that, and the outcome is not what the comment is fully about.

Did they forget that Ryu also has potions to fix himself up. Spirit Elixirs, way of the devil elixirs, and The talisman of rebirth.
