I saw someone sold a red standard edition New 3ds Xl (modded) for 300$ when retail price was only 200$, while a modded white ps vita 1k costed about 90$. It's best for you to research the number of units that were sold in your country first and make up your conclusion whether it's worth to wait or purchase it now. Happy modding

There is a pretty good second-hand market for modded Switch Lite. I've seen them go around 120$-150$, which is a pretty good price for the number of games you can play.

@chao4869 mods can be turned on and off for any game and system. Re-skin character mods normally only show on your side and do not effect game play. Nothing to worry about nintendo only cares if you mess with others and the game play itself if you learn the rules of mods-hacks-homebrew. Stuff is normally nothing to worry about just follow the rules
Out of topic, the Mobapad M6 HD is the best joycon alternative so far. It's been my daily driver for the past few months. Too bad it came late to the Switch's life but still better late than never.
I am happy to mod a 3DS/2DS or get a PS Vita and mod that as well. Since those two can already handle quite a bit, personally, considering how many games have released on the switch, how many games I have bought on the Switch, I really am happy with not modding mine. I even want to buy an extra unmodded Switch lite, at most do a hardware mod if that OLED screen mod I've been seeing ever releases, and keep playing all the games I already have without ever soft modding it. In other words, I am quite happy with the switch as it is. If I want to play anything from the NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, DS and 3DS, I have my modded 3DS. If I want to play anything from the PS1, some from the PS2, the PSP and the PS Vita, I can get (and I want) a modded Vita. If I want to play N64 to Wii U, I have my modded Wii U.

@@midnight_horizen8184 I'm not them but I just got a premodded switch oled because the modding process is complicated and you have to order a modchip online unless you have the old V1 switch (release switch before any upgrades), but as long as you keep the original system clean and block nintendos servers on the emulated system on the sd card you're fine, they're are some tutorials of it online but mine was ready because it's premodded. They probably got banned for tinkering on the original system and going online with it

I have a Steam Deck with Emudeck where I have all my home console emulators. Years ago I bought something called a Flip Grip because I thought it was cool, turns out it has very little application on the switch. But I have an unpatched switch just waiting to be modded so I can play DS and 3DS games more naturally with that flip grip.

you can essentially mod all of them, except it’s easier for older models as they only really need firmware to jailbreak. newer switch models require a mod chip and soldering station to be modified.

They are both ARM based, the switch tegra chip is multiple times more powerful than the PowerVR chip in the vita. Borderlands 2 performance shows the difference alone.
Any tips for getting emulators to work properly. I have lineageos21, and Ubuntu installed all i can't get some emulators to work great. Like MelonDS for starters. Have retroarch installed on all 3 configurations and get get decent emulation.

I have a chipped V2 and it runs great. Make sure you get the stand alone PPSSPP, it's more stable than Retroarch.

The only thing holding me back is the lack of hall effect joysticks. I still have PTSD from my old PSP and that only had a single one.
Hall effect sticks for switch are a couple of bucks and super easy, just stick them in while you have the device open for modding.

As of right now all of the free shops have been shut down by Nintendo. New ones might appear in the future but as of right now there are none working.
