What game reminds me most of Christmas? The first thing that came to mind was Hotel Dusk since it takes place just after Christmas and even has tree decorating in it. Banjo-Kazooie also has that giant Christmas tree. Then I remembered the freeware Merry Gear Solids: Secret Santa and The Ghosts of Christmas Past, which are both pretty good. I didn't play it yet, but Hotel Dusk's sequel, I hear, is also set around Christmas. I just need to get my DS Lite repaired...
I really enjoyed this one. I sometimes prefer to go back to the back-to-basics simple platformers and I'm always happy to get new ones to the rotation. Plus, you know, penguins. Can't go wrong with penguins. QOTD; This could be a pretty insane pick... but Quake 2. It came out in the beginning in December and got my mittens on it mid-Dec, meaning I spent most of the holiday season playing it. Somehow whenever I think of Christmas gaming, that's what comes to mind.
So, a game based off of the levels I normally use the Warp Zones to skip over, huh? That is a tough sell, that's for sure. But $7, guess that's not too bad, but I might try the Free Demo out first before I decide. Anyways, in answer to your question, I'm going to go with a F95 Zone game, but which one. Sure, MANY of them do Christmas Special versions this time of the year, even jokingly brought up with a screenshot in the comments how one was a Christmas Special because the word Christmas was screamed out during sexy time, but the one for me that kinda stands out is a game called 12 Days of Christmas. Sure the MC of that game was brought in by the same Dev later as a side character in Misfits, but throughout many of updates, Christmas was the theme of the whole game, which is why it stands out for me.
As a gift, The Sims 2 (DS version) reminds me of Christmas. My brother and I both got it for Christmas one year. Overall, the Animal Crossing games remind me of Christmas. I've always loved decorating my house, town or island for Christmas. 🎅🏻🎄
I might wait until the Switch version is updated, the meta-themes are just right to tug at my heartstrings and possibly get over the simplicity of the gameplay. And for the question... Yoshi's Island, strangely enough. Only because I have vivid memories of playing that during a winter where I was just waiting for Christmas to come and whiling my days away, so Yoshi's Island became my go-to game for waiting.
Dang, so he can't even throw snowballs? Snowman should be more snowmany. Looks cool though. QOTD, Super Mario World since I got my SNES that Christmas.

The fish enemies from Super Mario Land are cute!

If I want a bare-bones platformer in a snowy setting I'll just play SuperTux.

My pick for Christmas game would be Christmas Nights Into Dreams for the looks, or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for the memories I have of it personally.
There was an 8 bit Santa platformer game that came out on ps5. Any chnace its on your radar?

Wouldn't using snow against your enemies be like murdering your family members, or at least assaulting them? He is made of it too. LOL 😅
From your video, it looks like you can't jump on those penguins who have bows on their heads.
Yeah, the medium-sized penguins.
@@DefunctGamesEveryone knows that hair bows can kill.
Sorry but snow levels ain't so bad compared to melted snow levels. Water worlds are the real bane of retro game players.
Need this, looks great
