  • Storms Trash Floods on Skid Row Homeless Downtown Los Angeles California. Walk with me to the Midnight Mission in the heart of Skid Row early morning into a rainstorm. Rare thunder event here on skid row. Trash is everywhere as it looks like a party the night before. Trash is a common sight in and around the Homeless Encampments.
*Skid Row* in Los Angeles is a neighborhood that has a long and tragic history. Since the **Great Depression**, it has been infamous for its **condensed homeless population**, poverty, and crime. Covering more than **50 city blocks**, Skid Row is where thousands of homeless people live. But this area's roots go back even further.
In the late 1800s, Los Angeles became the *last stop* on early trains traveling across the United States. As a result, vagabonds, runaways, and others with nowhere else to go arrived in the City of Angels, and eventually, in what would become Skid Row. Over the decades, the area grew, attracting war veterans, drug addicts, and those who could no longer afford rising rents. Many spent their nights in bedraggled tents on the streets.
In the 1970s, the city adopted a policy of *"containment"**, concentrating most homeless services in Skid Row and attempting to separate it from the rest of Los Angeles. Despite efforts, Skid Row has only expanded over time. Economic crises and housing policies have contributed to its growth, and the ongoing **fentanyl epidemic* continues to devastate those living there. Unfortunately, there's no clear end in sight¹.
The term *"skid row"* originally came from Seattle, where "skid roads" were used by loggers to transport timber to ports. By the 1930s, it referred to run-down urban areas catering to low-income people and the unhoused. In Los Angeles, the birth of what became Skid Row happened even earlier. In 1876, the city became the last stop of the transcontinental railroad, leading to an influx of transients, seasonal workers, and displaced Civil War veterans. Inexpensive hotels, bars, and brothels sprang up in the area to serve this population¹.
As of July 2023, there are approximately *46,000 homeless people* in Los Angeles, with an estimated *5,000* residing in Skid Row. Some estimates put that number even higher, at around **15,000**. The challenges faced by Skid Row continue to be immense, and city officials grapple with finding solutions¹.
Tent encampments have become a common sight on Skid Row, lining the streets where people struggle to survive. The crisis in Skid Row is emblematic of the broader homelessness issue faced by many West Coast cities³. Recently, crews have been dismantling some of these encampments, but tensions remain high as the struggle to address homelessness persists⁴.

Trust me the inside is not my enemy but when you have a sister like mine who couldn’t wait to fuck me over after I took care of our parents by myself from January 2007 to January 21 2011 at there house my father bought for them to live and raise there kids in I’m the youngest and my absolutely wonderful sister is the oldest and I had a great brother who unfortunately lost his life on a motorcycle 3 hours after he got out of church on November 19 2006 he was the middle child and obviously my parents knew deep down he was the most responsible child that’s why they made him the chief executor of the estate but unfortunately he passed away before my parents and then it fell into her hands and keep in mind my brother in law is the only one in the family I still talk to because he’s just a good hearted person and my parents loved him like a son he told my pig of a sister the money hungry pos not to touch my inheritance and I just happened to be in his office one day when he told it that and I heard it say she wouldn’t but she did fired the family lawyer and hired a new lawyer a re wrote the living will highly illegally but my copy of the will was up stairs in my bedroom and had no way of getting it because the bitch moved into my parents house and got a restraining order against me where I had lived off and on for 51 years and I took care of my parents by myself my mother was the last one to pass away and she had that wonderful shit called dementia 23 months I took care of my mom and I would do it all over again but my real nice sister said just find the most expensive place that will take care of her and have them send the bill to Robert that’s my brother in law I told her no person is gonna come to work in a pissed off mood and man handle my mother or steal from her she couldn’t do anything for herself I had to bath her, wipe her when she went to the bathroom in the diapers she had to wear I don’t no what goes thru there mind but I sure in the hell no what went thru my mind and like I say I would do it all over again with no help from 13 pos X dead family members sorry I unleashed my insanity on you but the last 13 years and 3 and a half months has been a living Hell driving a pos around sleeping in this thing where I’m at now with a pistol on the rear floor board because I’ll be dam if I’m gonna be some low life dirt bag meth heads victim whoever tries and robs me is gonna be digging thru a dead mans pockets, ACTUALLY IM ALREADY F…ING DEAD AND HAVE BEEN FOR OVER 13 YEARS

Looks like a really safe vibrant area full of culture. What's the deal with most of the buildings just being locked up small businesses long gone? Equity firms and institutional investors like Black Rock speculating on a big nothing? For a city to be a city or a country to be a country, it needed to be functional. America is a high optic, but as an American in the 2020's, I can't honestly say it's the greatest ever nor feel there's much left that was my country, but was just a big nothing burger ruse. That's why the standards have gone way down I no longer feel safe be it a city, small town, or rural regardless of state for the economic and political system is a big goner having something to do with big money being above the rule of law and life itself. Civil war vibe increasing which is just so dreadful.

The general public ignores homeless and pretends they don't exist, so most people don't realize that many street homeless die and their bodies simply disappear because they get eaten by other homeless.
