- He says it so much in his video that it grates on my nerves like you wouldn't believe! He also claims that his video was a joke, but I say "nuh uh, son!" None of the other videos came off as "jokes" to me, nor did this one. Shockingly, however, I did agree with Harman in this one more than I have in any other video that I've made on him so far. It's not much, but it's something.
Also, after our buddy, @Quantum_TV hit me with a false copyright strike, I gained a small amount of respect for Harman. While his takes are horrendous, at least HE doesn't run around and file false copyright strikes like our favorite salty cucumber cupcake does!

There's a perfectly good reason why the development cycle for tears of the Kingdom isn't taking as long Harman. Two words, " reused assets". Whereas elder scrolls 6 is being built on a new engine from the ground up with brand-new assets. Great video Jestan keep up the awesome work.
Thank you. If you wouldn't mind, have you heard Bethesda say anything about using a new game engine? I ask because ever since Morrowind, they've been using the same exact Gamebryo engine modification with hardly any details changed. I wish Bethesda would use either the Unreal Engine or the Unity Engine or some other proprietary engine instead of the one that they've been using since Morrowind, which was outdated even back _then._

@@JestanDiams Bethesda hasn't used Gamebryo since Oblivion, they've used the Creation Engine or modified versions of the Creation Engine since then. Also Elden Ring has over 320 awards, in fact the Playstation fanboys kicked up a colossal stink over the fact that Elden Ring now has the most GotY awards than any other game including TLoS Part 2.

6:16 To be honest, combat, general travel, physics, and _maybe_ world design were really the only things BotW did better than Skyrim. Skyrim stomps all over BotW in variety and even that was kind of underwhelming in Skyrim.
And then Elden Ring exists which basically curb stomps BOTW completely in every way (art direction maybe but its personal taste)

Fallout 4 and "Skyrim 1" are better than Breath of the Wild. Sales of Fallout 4 are the best in its respective series and there are more current players for Fallout 4 and "Skyrim 1" than Breath of the Wild.
I love Zelda but.
Older Zelda games like the trilogy of Legend of Zelda ocarina, majoras mask, and twilight princess are better than Breath of the Wild. In fact you can even argue Hyrule Warriors Definitive edition a spin off is more of a love letter to the fans of zelda than Breath of the Wild. In terms of "gwaphics", characters, and gameplay.
To me, it doesn't matter what games you enjoy or like more, people should have personal preferences and at least try to respect other's opinions or points of view. The thing that I dislike the most and the thing that Harman does constantly is that he thinks his opinion is the only one that is valid and any attempts to argue or point out the flaws in it are pure fabrication and are only made by die-hard sony / xbox / pc fanboys.
He has made his persona directly linked to Nintendo and its games that even the slightest " injustice" be it a negative comment or not enough public praise feels like a personal attack to him.

Thought I remember reading that Todd said they WOULD do something for TES 6 that they've never done before. What that is, I don't think he specified so TES 6 could be an (actual) contiution of the civil war from Skyrim.
i found breath of the wild okay but still think the breaking weapons was dumb

The continuity and timeline may be different with almost every game, but the characters are (almost) always the same. I'll give you that.
Personally, I like Breath of Wild ( it's both my first Zelda game and the only game that I 100%) but the game has a lot flaws. For starters: Botw lacks enemy variety ( especially in the DLC when it's just changing the color palette and giving the same enemies more health), even though I don't mind weapons breaking too much I just wish the game had some alternatives like crafting or just making weapons more durable and not have the master sword be a breakable weapon that you have to wait 10 mins for to use it again, and like you said the Divine Beast play out the same thing that gets pretty boring and just the lack of content and reward for 100% ( like the tunic that you get after completing the shrines is okay, but I hate when I collected all 900 of those korok seeds not only could not use the rest of the seeds to expanded my inventory but just to get a pile of gold shit from Hetsu )
There’s a few others too. Like I’ll point out the wasted potential of the story. It really sucks this was the first fully voice acted Zelda game since CDI and the characters were completely wasted. We never got the chance to grow or build relationships with these champions as opposed to in OOT where as a kid you build a relationship and then return to rescue them as an Adult. And so much of the main narrative feels paper thin, complete with an absolutely terrible final boss.

I can respect that. Sometimes, the older games are better. I wanna record more Ocarina of Time Randomizer footage for the background on the videos you watch here, but I think I'm so burned out on Ocarina of Time that I just can't bring myself to do it. Maybe I should do Majora's Mask Randomized? Fun fact: there is a randomizer that enables you to smoosh Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask together and have them randomized with each other, if that makes sense.

Yeah. I don't think BotW is _that_ great. I'd even go as far as to rate it a 7.5/10 on a _good_ day. I think amazing controls can carry a game even when the content is lacking, but BotW's controls just aren't good enough. That's a lot easier to accomplish in a 3D platformer like SM64, which had very similar problems.
Fair enough! However, _I'd_ rate BotW a 6/10 on a good day. It's not a bad game by any means, it's just that it could have been so much _better_ than what it was. At least in my opinion.
Its a shame really because I ended up replaying OOT and I loved how responsive Link controlled in that game and how the combat was a simplified Souls combat style. Only downside to OOT’s controls would be the lack of a jump button but how does a game from 1998 play better than a title from 2017?!

Hey, man, to each their own. While I really don't care for Breath of the Wild myself, I do like it to some extent, but I do prefer Skyrim myself. Mostly because of Breath of the Wild's weapon durability system.

@@JestanDiams Daggerfal didnt had physics engine of a modern game. So it didnt have an emergent gameplay that came from high interactivity where zelda excels. Daggerfall's procedure generated openworld is in fact the opposite of what zelda did. No game surpassed it and the closest may be gothic that was littered with points of interest and it was made by hand not generated.

Like what other games? Microsoft and sony both failed to deliver new games for their new consoles. Nintendo is the only real console company that didn't go third party.
Even walking in morrowind is hard and the solution was jumping constantly because it was faster that way. I remember now -- collision problem was the reason for bad pathfinding of npc. And there were mods to alter levels to fix the game.
The weapons system in botw is tied to the amount of inventory slots that represent an experience of link as an rpg character. I have lots of weapons at the end of the game that are hard to be damaged.

It is like saying "I want to create a best game of decade". Tes5 popularity was almost an anomaly. I remember it's quests. In 99% of cases you weren't able to pick a solution to them. In oblivion you can end quest differently.
