      @@ThisBytesForYou I did! It's been doing really well! Since 9 months ago, I been using it in my Optiplex, and just today was able to get the side panel on. I had to use a PCIE extender to be able to plug the gpu in. The front USB plug was in the way, but that fixed it.
      Then I had a problem putting the side panel on, due to the 8 pin connector was out too far. So, just today I cut a hole in the door to close it.
      I must say though, it runs HOT with the panel on. The 3060 manages to get up to 89C under load. (Which is the max temp limit for this gpu, you can set in MSI Afterburner).
      And the cpu temp gets to 90C. It is a i7 3770.
      I think the fans are clogged from dust, since it's been 3 inches from the ground with the door open for the last 9 months. I need to take it apart to see though, since the gpu is in there somewhat permanently.
      The CPU cooler has also been needing a good cleaning.
      This is the most awesome Optiplex I have seen before lol. It has 32gb ddr3, a rtx 3060, and a i7 3770, with a ssd. And with the side panel on, it doens't look like it's worth more then any other cheap old Optiplex.

      @@ThisBytesForYou As a person who has never built a computer before, your video's were an invaluable step by step how to. I had a perfect build with no errors. I'm sure many people can likewise attribute their success to your concise how to video's. It's greatly appreciated your replies and interactions connect you with your subscribers.
      With regards to the card... I like it very much! it's a big step up from my Asus GT730 on my Samsung UHD monitor. The rendering and textures are amazing. Perhaps the one thing I greatly appreciate about your take on this card is the positive reaction to the quality, where as others have reviewed it in disparaging terms, sadly some have nothing good to say about it It fills a very interesting niche, especially for those of us who just needed a GPU (ANY GPU!) I was trying for a 3070 FTW. The RTX3060 came along first and was a compromise and for my needs was more than adequate. I overbuilt and need to learn how to get more out of my system.
      Cooler Master H500 RGB case with 3x200mm fans, Asus 590 Wi Fi Pro, Ryzen 5-3600. 500 GB M2 with Master Air MA620M cooler.
      32gb HyperX pro RAM. Plus the RTX 3060
      So far the temps have been well below 40! and I had to run your fan test to see if mine actually worked. A great thumbs up for what you do here on TH-cam.

      @@takata98 Thanks my friend, I really do appreciate it. Sadly, many of us out here like to just bash things, it get's lot of views and comments, but it's not what I am looking for. I would love all the views, but not just because I am talking trash about the product, the product may have flaws, and I feel like i go over them, but in a constructive manner, no need to bash. I take each product I get as a new product, something new to all and put it through its paces, give you what I find, let, my opinions, and let you make the determination if its right for you, or you should skip it, I don't want to think for you, so I really do appreciate it, and the fact that not only you said thank you, which alone means a ton, but you broke down everything I helped you with, why it helped you and you recommended my work to other people, that means so much to me, thank you my friend.
      I found the performance great, for it's intended price, as well as thermals. You coming from a GT730, it was like night and day for sure for you my friend, that is a TREMENDOUS upgrade, congrats, but there is nothing wrong with overbuilding, in my opinion. Sure, it might be too much for you today.... but if you bought exactly what you needed today, then tomorrow you have to upgrade and it would cost you so much more, my 2 cents at least. Your build kind of sounds like a mix of my $1,500 build, and my over the top gaming build th-cam.com/video/9gg8w8BHGns/w-d-xo.html let me know what you think, and thanks again so much my friend.

      awesome my friend, so very happy you enjoyed this video, and I am sooooo happy it worked out for you. I always recommend a clean install of windows, If you like, in this video I show you how to make a windows 10 thumb drive: th-cam.com/video/C759I7DBXd8/w-d-xo.html, then in this video, I show you how to install windows 10: th-cam.com/video/sNtlz1EoWBM/w-d-xo.html and then in this video I show you what to do after you install windows: th-cam.com/video/8JuC_Dpm6-c/w-d-xo.html. well thank you so much my friend, I truly appreciate your kind words and support, it means a ton to me. I came from a time before the internet, hahah where I had people in my family that knew tons about computers, professors even, but no one had time for me, and the internet didn't exist, only BBS' and you had to know someones phone number to connect to their node and hope they had what you wanted.... it was rough. So, I learned everything on my own, everything, and it was expensive and I broke a lot. So years later, TH-cam came out, and people were showing similar, but they would skip over a lot of important stuff and speak techno babble, which would scare off people so I decided to make easy to follow guides, trying not to skip anything and it seems to be paying off, slowly, but its working it seems, I am helping many people and it feels good.
      I really do appreciate your kind words my friend, it is very heard warming and I hope I have helped you too.

    So I substantially followed the guide, with a few changes, and am up and running fine with the new card. It's striking how much smaller RTX 3060 ti xc is compared to my old RTX 2060.
    Running Windows 10 Pro, 22H2 on Ryzen 7, 3800x.
    Despite all the Debby Downer on the 3060 ti from a lot of quarters it was the right choice/price for a mid-life graphics card change on a 4 year old computer - that still does a good job on the games I play and functions I need. As Ellsworth in Deadwood: "Experience hard come by, but thoroughly learnt" on making sure graphics card is matched to motherboard. Killed my old Sandy Bridge-E motherboard during Covid after going from 2 to 6 gig with gpu change, then playing games that were it turned out at the edge of the system's abilities.
    My slight changes:
    1. The PIN worked fine dealing with "Safe Mode".
    2. To get to Safe Mode, I went Start - Settings - Update & Security - Advanced Start up Options.
    3. This brought up Troubleshoot, clicked on that, then Advanced Options, Startup Settings, then clicked restart, once the machine started up, picked and pressed F4 for "Enable Safe Mode".
    4. That brought up "Enter PIN", entered it and was operating in Safe Mode.
    In the DDU first time dialog, to be safe, I unchecked the INTEL Specific Options box also. Rest of it per video: unchecked the AMD Specific Options, and the Windows picks drivers prevention at the bottom.
    Used the swap as opportunity use my new hand vacuum/blower to blow and vacuum clean inside, the little PeroBuno $70 one on Amazon. Quite worth it.

      @ThisBytesForYou  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      awesome bud, happy I could help, The 3060, be it the TI or non TI are great cards, for sure. As for the changes, its understandable, this is a 3 year old video, so a change for sure is unavoidable, glad you were able to get it, as for the PIN, that's nice. It used to be that even though the pin allowed you to get into windows, it didn't in Safe mode, then caused others issues when trying to get back into regular windows mode, glad MS finally fixed that. NIce about the PeroBuno, I use the Xpower, I have had it for years and it still works great, if you want to check out the video: th-cam.com/video/YxoFkxO-Rco/w-d-xo.html
      So what did you think about the PerBuno, is it powerful and do the batteries drain quick? You mention its a vacuum too, the Xpower is just a blower, does it vaccum well?

    • @KG-1
      @KG-1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ThisBytesForYou PeroBuno can vacuum and blow. 3 speeds. Vacuum didn't get as much as I wanted on the CPU, but the blower served the purpose. Very good attachments I think. Battery life can't tell on, but it's easy to charge. When I went to Windows 10 about a year before Windows 7 support ended, the PIN was enforced on me, even though I had a password. Seems like it superseded the password function at least in my case.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      most of the time you will not face an issue, but when you install an updated driver, it could cause corruption then cause issues in games and overall windows utilization, then you get a new card and that corruption goes over to the new card, because the card is using those drivers. Then also, uninstallers don't always work well, then when you reinstall, many times the driver will not overwrite the file, so you have several different files for different driver versions which causes tons of issues. Very happy its worked for you as it is. You may notice a performance increase using this method though. And always happy to help.

    • @ThisBytesForYou

      it is highly recommended because during regular windows mode, windows is using those drivers, so its hard for the OS to let go of some of those files, which is why and how a lot of issues occur. It can't remove them while be used, and can't install over them either while being used so you end up using several different driver version, because you didn't want to restart your system and use DDU to save a few seconds.

      PLease, reply to the comment, I don't get notifications on an edit, I just look through my comments. If you could though... before you spend money on a power supply, when you are not sure, answer the previous comment so I can help you.

      OK, so your motherboard does have UEFI, which is required for this card to work, though the last published BIOS was 2013, running off of the H61 chipset, it will work, and thankfully you have 16gigs of RAM though the cpu might slightly bottleneck the video card, though it will still work.

    Hi. I have the card, the fans start but it will not engage the HDMI? I was wondering if my motherboard is too old. It was made in 2014. Manufacturer
    Intel Corporation
    Model
    DZ77BH-55K
    Version
    AAG39008-400
    Is there a way to check this? Thanks for the video, I followed it exactly.

      yes it is, but I highly recommend flashing the BIOS to the latest version and setting your PCIE to PCIE Gen3. Make sure you have a 550Watt power supply with an 8Pin PCIE connection and make sure you are using it. Also, if you can get it to work, this video will help you flashing the firmware which fixes an issue where either DP or HDMI doesn't work: th-cam.com/video/uO351_LhGh8/w-d-xo.html, let me know if this helps.

      Hey, it worked!!!!!!! I just did a BOIS flash and it worked. I was all set to return it and cry. I got it for a Oculus 2 VR on Skyrim. Now to disappear into that world. Do you have some settings for Afterburner? I heard RTX 3060 almost matches RTX 3060 Ti when boosted.

    I'm building my first ever gaming pc and I'm so excited! (I'm currently using a gt 730 lol)
    I was able to get this same card, so thank you for the upload! My question is, does everything in this video apply to a completely newly built setup (other than switching cards)?

      @@ThisBytesForYou thank you! Honestly, it's a dream come true for me. I'm gonna get a 750W PSU (Corsair CX750M), so that should be enough. I'm still very excited, too bad I'm short on money, because this way I'm limited to buying one component/month... but I'm getting there! lol
      Thank you for the kind words and the link, I'll be sure to check the video out before I start building!

      Ha Ha, that's quite a coincidence. I just got notified today for the 3060 so in a few days! I had to reuse my Asus GT730 in my new build temporarily whilst "waiting" Even the GT730 performed better on my new build with a new Samsung 32/SR75 UHD monitor, Let's hope were both similarly impressed once installed with all the great tips from ThisBytesForYou!

    Hi man, I got an used EVGA RTX 3060 XC but I can’t get it to work on my system. At startup it doesn’t even blink any lights and the fans do not start, no signal is sent to the monitor, nothing. It is not the black edition so I guess some light should be present at startup, right? I have and old Aorus GTX 1060 which is working well so I am starting to think the 3060 might be faulty.

      yup, same connector, but it requires more power, but that's good that you have a 650, it only requires 550Watts. Your board should support it, I recommend going up to the latest BIOS available here: us.msi.com/Motherboard/H110M-PRO-VH/support#bios, of course you will to pop in the 1060 for now. After you flash the BIOS, make sure you change the support from Legacy to UEFI, I dont know where in your BIOS that is, BUT if your os is install on an MBR instead of a GPT partition, you will have issues booting into windows. Check out this video, from the :25 mark till 6:35 I show you how to check to see if your OS is installed MBR or GPT then how to change it in the BIOS and in OS. Though, the BIOS would help your situation more, it is preferred to have the BIOS set to UEFI and your OS on a GPT partition.
      Also, in the BIOS verify that your PCIE slots are set to Gen 3 or 4, maybe it might need auto in order to work, updating the bios would help this as well. Aside from that, it should work, it might be dead, verify it is firmly seated.
