One other thing... Kioti used to make transmissions for Kubota. The shuttle shift on the NX is synchronized so you can shift on the fly like a standard car. It has a reverse shuttle and 24 f/r gear speeds (not that you need to go fast in reverse). If you're ground engaging I think for these small machines, the shuttle is the way to go. More power to the ground, more options all around (intentional rhyme there). Good luck!

I am so glad that you take time to share your experiences. I have a CT5545 that has 55 hours. So far it has been working fine and the the lift capacity has geen great. I use it for loading logs with a grapple. I do think the these tractors are new to the Bobcat dealerships and that they lack experience in trouble shooting and repairing these machines. If I run into problems like yours, I am going to contact an experienced Kioti Dealership for trouble shooting, but that kinda defeats the purpose of a warranty. I certainly would strongly consider the buy back.

In general tractor companies say a loader lift capacity does not subtract the weight of the loader and bucket itself.

Sounds like the repair bills would be more then the cost of the machine if not covered with warranty. I don’t think they can afford to sell these things at this rate.

I had the same tractor Identical problems except for the leak in the rear. The last time they came out to recalibrate it the mechanic put it through the back wall of my implement barn that’s how bad it jumped.
They did offer to purchase it and take it back and it’s gone and I replaced it with another tractor not a bobcat.
Purchased in June 2021 gone in February 2022 with only 161 hours on it more hours in the shop then on the engine.

Buddy I feel ya... I went and bought a New bobcat CT 2535 about 7 months ago and it was nothing but JUNK.. I had wiring issues, hydraulic leaks, loader would barely pick up anything, but the biggest thing was it drank radiator coolant.. every week I had to add about a quart of fluid to it.. I took it to the dealer about 6 times and all they could say was it must have air in the system .. thinking this machine was just a lemon I then bought a new CT5550 likes yours.. and guess what this one is JUNK too.. it only has 26 hours on it because it has been at the dealer 90% of its life.. transmission problems, wiring issues, leak issues, and the big thing on this one is I was mowing with a offset mower with it and when I picked it up to move to the next spot and top of the transmission where the top link attaches to.. the whole top of the transmission broke off!!!!.. I kid you not the whole top broke off!!!.. they told me something in the transmission blew up or the casting was bad..lol!!! .. they told me bobcat don't even have that part in stock so they are ordering it from Korea.. that was 4 months ago and still not fixed yet..lol.. So your not the only one having problems with these machines.. personal if I ever get the tractor back its going up for sale!!

I would take the buy back deal. Splitting the tractor and a still not fully functional HST - it may never be 100% or have long term reliability. Incorrect sealing or even wrong bolt torque are all things that could cause problems down the road for such a major repair. And you now have Bobcat corporates attention, an opportunity that may not come around again. I’ve watched your videos (well done by the way - very informative) since I have a CT2040 being prepped at a dealer here in Texas. I have had a reliable Kubota but the Bobcat dealer is close so I'm taking a risk even though there is no real price savings with Bobcat now.

    • @gaining_ground

That is what scares me more than anything, the unknown of what the local mechanics have or haven’t done.

It was down to a bobcat 5558 or a kubota mx5400 for me. The dealer salesman didn’t seem interested at all in selling me a tractor. Wanted to sell me a new skid steer. Said the tractors were not selling. Ended up with the kubota. 260 hrs and the only issue I had was a bad hydraulic hose from the factory with a pin hole leak. Very satisfied with my choice. But I definitely paid a premium also. I have a bobcat skid steer and it has been a fantastic machine also. Hard to say what you should do. Glad I’m not in your position.

@@jameseisenhour8737 How frustrating for you. I think with the appropriate tooling you shouldn’t have the problems I had.

No issues with my NX 4510 to date (400 hrs). I kept the hp low and went with a shuttle shift to keep it simple. I also tend to under size the implements. Sorry to see you go through all this. I would go with the buy back and get another one but go with a gear one that way you don't have to worry about the hydro issues. If possible go with the 45 hp instead. You need a heavier machine for the bigger hp IMHO.

Knock on wood my NX6010 is all good so far after this last repair, but if I had to do it again I would probably go with something without all the electrical stuff and bugs that go with it. If my NX was at the same point I would take the buy back and go to a power shuttle RX7320 PCC I had the chance to use a friend’s and it was a lot bigger difference than just the 13 hp. It was smoother and once I got the hang of it I was almost as simple as the HST. Also with the price increases I would look again at the Farmall tractors.

I bought a Bobcat CT30. I had serious issues with the way the tractor was sold to me. Bobcat Corp. got involved after I responded to a Satisfaction survey. Absolutely took care of the issue and me. I could not be happier with Bobcat Corp. And my tractor. I think that Bobcat is standing behind their product as much if not more than they can. Is unfortunate that economics are so screwed up since you purchased yours. You are not going to find many Corporations that will stand behind their product to the extent Bobcat is regarding your tractor.

Sounds like you need a Kubota or Deere. And not to mention an entirely different dealership/service center.

I'd love a Kubota or Deere, but the price point was almost half on this one. I agree on the dealer.

DO NOT BUY ANY KUBOTA PRODUCT
I BOUGHT A NEW KUBOTA LX 4020 TRACTOR TO USE FOR A SNOW REMOVAL BUSINESS
IN BRIAN HEAD, UT. I HAD TO PURCHASE FROM A DEALERSHIP IN COLORADO AS IT WAS
THE ONLY KUBOTA DEALERSHIP WITHIN A 1000 MILE SEARCH TO HAVE THE TRACTOR I
NEEDED FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED. The Dealership, Wickham Tractor in Fort Collins, CO
sold me the tractor and added Howes diesel treatment to the tank as well as selling me the
remainder of the bottle to use to prevent the fuel from jelling. I Used as per specs. Tractor was
purchased on 11/21/23 and I picked it up and transported it back to UT. Tractor was in
operation for 17.2 hours before it would not start. Local Kubota dealerships said they would
not come out to try to fix it as we did not buy it from them. Took it to Las Vegas, NV, as they
were closest Kubota dealership, dropped off on 1/8/24 at 730 am. Kubota dealership said the
fuel smelled funny so it wasn't covered under warranty and said $12000.00 plus to fix. The DPF
was completely clogged and the only codes were low temp MAF sensor and no
communication with EGR. Western area rep said there was no fuel to test because I drained it.
This is a Lie. Had more than 6 gallons of fuel in it when i dropped it off. I have all the emails and
correspondences and text messages, proving they denied coverage for adding a fuel additive.
Sergio at Kubota customer service said, “When I put fuel in the tractor it voided warranty.”
Apco, the Kubota dealership in Las Vegas, sent out the injectors for testing they came back as
bad due to fuel contamination on 1/23/24. Kubota persisted in their point of me putting bad
fuel in the Tractor. When I called the tester, I pressed about the fuel contamination. The person
who did the test, said it was visible metal in the injectors that most likely came from the high
pressure fuel pump. There was no metal in the fuel tank, fuel filter or fuel water separator. The
dealership i bought the tractor from said they were the only ones that could help me at this
point due to Kubota policy. Eddie at Wickham tractor told me I needed to bring the tractor
back to them, 1367 miles round trip. and they would sell me a new one because I had broken
this one. And would see about trying to fix the one I had already bought for a discount. I
transported the tractor back to Greely, CO to Wickham on 1/18/24 they tested the fuel that was
still in the filters and it came back as fine 2/8/24 so they were going to replace the entire
engine. This could take between 3 to 9 months. My warranty coverage says all warranty work
to be completed within 30 days. On 2/28/24 I found out there was internal Kubota Service
Bulletin that came out to all the dealers the week before I bought the tractor stating the very
problems my tractor was having. They knew this, and still denied coverage, and finally, when I
presented this fraud to Kubota, on 3/7/24 Wickham tractor said they were going to replace the
tractor with a new one, but wouldn't give me a timeline of when I would get a new one and I
would have the expense of picking it up from them verses a local dealership. These delays
have cost me my business and reputation to move snow I had to pay out my competitors and
cancel and refund all my contracts. A service bulletin for this tractor was issued before I
bought it stating this very problem. and it was to be fixed at Kubotas expense. They knew the
problem existed, they tried to blame it on me for adding fuel supplement, they tried to coerce
me into buying a new tractor on top of the broken one so i didn't lose my business. they
refused to cover the cost of repair until i proved their fraud, and intent by pushing the narrative
and then changing and deleting emails. I have all emails and correspondence showing the
    timeline, the fraud and intent.

Wow, that is a heck of story. It makes me feel better about my ordeal. It is unfortunate that businesses try to weasel their way out of everything these days. I long for the past, when the customer was always right. I don't think it matters what brand you buy, there are shysters everywhere.
