Chinte, Jitte, and Sochin are the kata I surprisingly find myself to like the most. All videos from H. Kanazawa are very strengthening my own life.Talking about those I've watched of course.
Same here! :D I'm sure you know it already but the hops are because you need to finish the kata at the same spot you started from. They aren't a part of the Bunkai. XD It's a beautiful kata nonetheless, one of my favourites.
@@dianakalstein3644 Now that I see this, I wonder why they decided to use bunny hops rather than some other interesting movement like a Shuto Uke (hope I spelled that right) or even just sliding back
in 1972 Nakayama Masatoshi sensei mentioned that with some Kata, the bunkai just wasnt known. This is one of them. But he also stressed that each karateka will interpret the Bunkai differently at the different times in their own journey. The catagorical Bunkai is just a starting point. No Oyo can be identical, not should it be. Some teachers teach as they were taught exactly without alteration, such as a useum piece exibiting his understanding of Karate at that time. This is a common belief.
@HaloItachi95 the bunnyhops they say its for "to hop over the blood that was spilled" but it is more likely that the kata creators or modifiers want to have the person doing the kata to end up at the same place as he started (note the tape)
Oss, shotokan kata. I love movement of shihan hirukazu kanàzawa. First watching this kata since 2008. I like this kata also. Someday i will master this kata.
I believe the 3 hops in the end where added, as mainland Japan loves order. So kata had to start and end in the exact same spot, and thus kata doesn't do that... probably because it is very old. Non the less, it is a beautiful kata that I wished shorin-rye adopted...
the jumps were not originally in the original form, they were added to comply with the rules of the jka tournament system, were embusen was really important

@rocketrmt Ah, I see. Hopping over spilled blood seems like a terrible idea, it's not like it'll burn you to ashes or something lol. So yeah, I'd agree with you there. They're still funny though :P

Every time I perform this kata I have to try not to smile when I do the bunny hops. x)
hg really? I laugh at the illuminati part XD
You only smiled? You have good self control. I burst out laughing.
Don't try to do bunny hops, instead, try to shift yourself across the floor

I think you're right; it's to end at the embusen.
My favourite kata. Good bunkai too with this one.
Jorge Torrent I also like bassai dai
super explanation... I love kata! thank you for sharing - inspiring

@@jamesphillipshort it's because "embusen" was introduced for competitions in Japan, Okinawan versions didn't do this.
@@jamesphillipshortIt is in some Shorin-Ryu schools. Kyudokan and Shubukan.
Well if it is in Okinawa Karate,it's not on TH-cam.
@@conireland I ment the kata itself is in these schools. Not the hops. :)
Everyone in my karate club society has to know this one.
They taught this to us for an hour when I was only a red belt!
Que perfeição! Emocionante! ❤👏👏👏
For the tournament Saturday I have this kata PERFECT
I' m speak italian.
I salti sono stati messi per tornare alla posizione inizioale nella croce.
The hops are executed because it was used to give stability during a fight when the water is about the level of your hips.
Water? What do you mean?
@goggles789 EXACTLY MY THOUGHT!!!
the fight happened to the river ?
the jumps were not originally in the original form, they were added to comply with the rules of the jka tournament system, were embusen was really important
Kanazawa..sensie ENODA..memeries of my time in the JKA..OSSS
In Kata finishing 3 time jumping. What is the use that one
Chinte.....oss
this is the best kata in karate shotokan
While we're all just speculating... My take is that the hops are there to make your opponents die of laughter... Why so serious? 🤡🃏✌🏼️👊🏼
Esse pulinho no final é muito engraçado 😂😂😂😂
the hops are to get back to the start....
Dizem até hoje que este kata possui estes pulinhos por nao ter sido finalizado por seu criador
Não, não dizem não.

cutest kata I've ever seen
Those ridiculous 3 hops at the end. 😂
I sincerely hope that those who dispute karate as a legitimate martial art never get to see the last three moves of this kata
PERFECT.
yeah
@HaloItachi95 They are fearsome bunny hops! :3
I it because the kata was never finished by its creator

So fake.
tem os pulos sim, pelo menos na linhagem Kanazawa ...
ta errado o CHINTE do estilo SHOTOKAN não tem os 3 pulos finais
