    I’m so glad you are having Sara Meeks on your program. Two years ago, I was looking for a therapist in my area who was trained on her techniques for osteoporosis and strengthening the muscles of the spine, but couldn’t find anyone. I can’t tell you how valuable I find these exercises.

    These will be helpful. I don't have osteoporosis, but I have osteopenia and I have a slightly unstable spine due to congenital scoliosis. I have been unable to do my normal exercise routine lately due to worsening of the curve, and I think these will be gentle enough to try. I really want to keep my muscles around the spine strong to support it but it's been hard.

    Definitely do these I do d Theo in pt after a 12 level spine fusion. I was worried about this exercise because I have a torn shoulder muscle but it ready helps that too! I’m trying to avoid shoulder surgery, and when I don’t do these my shoulder hurts and weakness more apparent.

      You had 12 level fusion? How are you doing after? I will most likely have to have several levels fusion due to congenital scoliosis that is worsening. I am so worried.

      @@sbkir I am doing great, I had a c3 to t3 and my congenital scoliosis’ was too bad to fuse so my surgeon did a l3 to si1 fusion. I’m. Bit over a year out and besides not twisting to get things I’m doing very well. recovery after was not too bad after about 2 weeks. I wore a clam shell brace and that was blessing because I was afraid I would do something to hurt my surgery. The worse part for me was the spasms in my groin and legs but pain meds took care of it. It lasted only a few days. My doc only uses pain meds for 2 weeks and I was off them at 10 days. Please feel free to reach out out if I can help in anyway!

      @@ellencox7168 I will probably need L2 to S1 since my S curve is in the lower lumbar and starts around L3. It has worsened in the last year and I am having so much trouble. But I am so scared. I am afraid I will be in more pain than i am now if I have surgery. I can't sit for long periods of time and can't walk for long. Spasms and muscle pain but only a little nerve pain that travels only down to my above my knee. It's so scary.

      @@sbkir You will be so glad you did the surgery! I couldn’t stand up at all because the pain in my left leg even with all my weight on the right leg, dangling my left leg pain was excruciating. My doc said. I would lose the use of my left foot and there is no coming back I’d have a floppy foot for life. Please don’t be scared just do this with a doctor you trust and feel good about and don’t allow yourself to get constipated baring down is a bit painful and painkillers tend to do that. You’ll be so glad you did this. The day after surgery you’ll be getting up and walking. The more you walk the quicker you’ll heal. There are a few assist devices that help with self care so ask them or me and I’m glad to help anyway I can.

      @@ellencox7168 Thank you for your input. I have a 49 degree curve near the L3 down to about L4 and a curve at L5 to S1 which is not so bad with 2 hemivertebrae (misshapen vertebrae). All that is going to need to be fused.

    I have a T12compression fracture and a T 7 fracture that I refractured in December of 2021. Can I still do these exercises?
