  • We take our 3.8m tinny and spend 5 nights camping at Whitehaven Beach and other islands in the Whitsunday Island group. We experience conditions not suitable for a small tinny such as rough oceans, strong winds and rain but in the end have the adventure of a life time.

🤣 we did this trip in a even smaller tinny and yes, it is sketchy as... but great fun if you make it out alive 😛

I've never been a fan of sleeping in the wet spot either but sometimes it's just worth it

Also not sure if you are aware, but it is illegal in Queensland, all children under the age of 12 must wear one, or there is a fine! Only when under way though

Yep as mentioned he wears one every single time he is in the boat.

Good vid, but you guys had a life jacket on but, Your toddler didn’t? In those conditions, it is absolutely necessary? Would like to watch more vids but as a sailor, of over 35 years, this terrifies me, can you please use a life jacket for your only child on the boat!!!

Hey mate. Thanks for commenting but I can assure you he definitely had a life jacket on. It was under his blue spray jacket. He uses a life jacket at all times in the boat whether it’s open or enclosed waters. If you look at our Instagram or even our other video on TH-cam with the whale encounter which was also filmed on this same trip you will see him wearing it.

Just to back that up if you watch the whale encounter video at 4.57 min into the video you will see a. Clear shot of Dusty wearing his life jacket. Following is a link to the video.

Thanks mate. We wouldn’t do it again like that. Would have our gear dropped to the islands or take a bigger boat. You live and learn!
