Watching this video after 5+ years not painting. I thought I remembered enough from when I previously painted but this tutorial is blowing me away. So many techniques that solve problems I’ve been having since painting again. Thanks so much!
The pacing of this video is perfect for me as a beginner. I've watched many, many of your videos, and now I am realizing that what I learned in one video enhances what I am learning from another one - the concepts are starting to dovetail and layer. Thank you very much.
You know you've watched a great video when all you can think about while watching is how much you want to go paint! Thanks for the great content Steve!
I spent a very enjoyable afternoon with you and this tutorial. I was able to learn some new techniques and will definitely try again on the areas I’m struggling with. Thank you!
I've always been intimidated by watercolor so much so I have steered myself away and quashed my dream to even try. That was until I found your videos. Thank you so much for inspiring me. I sat down and gave it a go today. It'll take time to master, but I'm on my way now. Thanks again!
Your tutorials are excellent. I am beginning to understand the temperment of watercolor and to see how you inspire the paint to create something beautiful rather than manipulate the paint 100%. You can teach an old dog new tricks afterall!
The two-parts demonstration is very inspiring and beneficial. It is by far the best video as it is done in a relatively slow pace. I like the final part where you sprayed the paper and splattered green, and then with some brush strokes, there were twigs and branches and a Tree was created!! Fascinating!
Thank you so much for showing your techniques for the trees and grasses. I have so much trouble with grass and foliage not looking over worked and I loved the way you used the spray bottle and then painted into the water droplets, the results were so expressive. I can't wait to go try it!
Love it! You have inspired me to try a landscape again. As a beginner with landscapes it is easy to give up when things turn to mud or look waterlogged. Thank you so much for your time and informative watercolour lesson. 😊
Wow, this is one of best tutorials I've watched. You are so thorough, honest, and inspiring. I LOVE it. Thank you so much for your passionate sharing and teaching. More, more, more.
I love the pace of this video. I learned I need to make sure I incorporate middle grounds. I am doing a large painting and the rendering I did in prep was a little flat. Now I know I need a middle ground. I loved everything about this and will watch it again.
Wonderful! Thanks. I REALLY appreciate the remark about letting the accidents happen and "go with the flow" it spoke to me. I sometimes squeeze the fun out of painting by letting my mistakes become errors instead of opportunities.
Really enjoyed these. I am practicing my landscapes by watching you do these. They are beginning to take shape for me. I am just beginning with art and watercolors. Your videos are very easy to follow.
Such rich colors. I need to go back and watch your "green" video again. Also, the white gel pen really makes a big difference in the level of detail. Such a small thing makes a big impact.
What a great little workshop! Learned quite a few things that I didn't know...back flow, placing foliage first...just a wonderful glimpse into YOUR watercolor mind. Thank you.
I'm new to watercolor. Just started!! I'm glad I found your channel, I'm learning so much! You have such a kind demeanor and you explain things very well. Thank you!!! Keep up the good work!!
Beautiful. So many great tips in these sessions. I just splurged on Arches at Blicks--now I hope to put it all together. Your pace is just right!! Thanks so much, Steve.
Hi Steve, Jordan Peterson is quite right!!! You have encourage me to dive in to watercolor, I've been re-watching time and time again your video! I bought a small Sennelier 12 half pans, some brushes and good quality paper (took your advice on that!!!) Thank you so much for been there, for been an aspiration, and for teaching us how to understand the mind of watercolor!!!
Thank you, Steve for these videos! I minored in art at college but have never done anything with it...always had a love for WC but have been afraid to try. Now that I'm retired, you've inspired me to give it a go. After all you make it look so easy, what could possibly go wrong? Roll Tide, my friend!
I think this is awesome! I like the white gel pen. I think it makes things pop. I think it's cool the way you let the watercolor just flow and land were it wants. You have the right touch. Thanks for the demonstration. 😊 Beautiful painting!
I truly enjoyed this two part demonstration! I am fairly new to watercolor and I learn so much from you. Thank you! I did miss the Scripture at the end.
Looks great Steve. I will definitely be replaying it many times to try and reproduce this work. Thanks so much for your great tutorials I'm learning so much 👍
Hey, Steve! This 2 part series was awesome!! You really have some nice techniques and I plan to use them on my next one. Thank you so much for sharing them with us!!!
It is very inspiring when it got to the part where you say you get exited about the watercolour working its own way as it will and the painting going in the direction you thought/ hoped it would. :) Learnt a lot from this! Just a beginner in watercoulour, and your videos are always an eye opener for me.
I've been following you from the beginning. Your art is amazing and your personality awesome. Thanks and have a great painting summer. /Gayla in Sweden 🇸🇪
That turned out lovely, helps to see that process. I need a better rigger! When I worked with acrylics years ago they never told me about them so I used to wear down an old brush to about three hairs and that was my prized detail brush! haha
Thanks for your generous time and great teaching. When you finish a painting would you remove the masking tape at the end so we can see it framed; I am a mat fan!

Fabulous! I plan to rewatch parts one and two and paint along with you for the experience. Thank you so much!

Yeah!
I really enjoyed watching this today. Thank you Ruth Koster
I have watched part 1 and 2. It's a nice landscape, and I have learnt some different ways of painting. Thankyou

A great example of The Mind of Watercolor in action!
An absolutely fantastic painting with excellent tuition - you truly make magic happen with your watercolours and limited palette. Thank you Steve. Caz

I could watch your videos all day long! You've got a gift.
I love the way you talk and describe what you're doing as you do it. I could never do that.
Beautiful painting Steve! Gosh I can spend hours watching this again and again😊👍
Love it! You have inspired me to try a landscape again. As a beginner with landscapes it is easy to give up when things turn to mud or look waterlogged. Thank you so much for your time and informative watercolour lesson. 😊
This is one of the most helpful watercolor landscape tutorials I've ever watched. I always learn so much from your videos. Thank you, thank you!
Totally, So helpful. I just got my 1st pad of Arches today. Now I'm gonna mess it up! Yaay!
Great work shop. I really enjoy your work and I appreciate how you explain your thought process. Thank you so much !
Thank you so much! I learn more from your 20 minute tutorials than I do watching hours of videos :) Beautiful

I did enjoy it and it will be reviewed many times.
I really like the painting into the spatter, both the small weedy stuff and the big tree.
