Comparing the NEW Animated Series DC Direct Batman Figures

After DC Direct shut down in 2020, McFarlane came in to rescue a rerelease of the DC Collectibles Animated Series Batman figures. I finally got my own and decided to directly compare the one more fatihful to the TAS iteration versus the Version 2, more New Adventures-like update. And yes, I know both are from Adventures Continue, but I needed some way to tell them apart.

It's so weird how eyeballs work because I was like the exact opposite. I watched the Animated Series so much as a kid but still when the new design came out in a specially with the Superman and Batman animated movie I always really gravitated towards the new design.

15:41 The T hip joint was the standard for the Mattel DC Universe classics figures, multiverse was still using it till later on.
23:36 The L on the new adventures batarange is to represent the hinge since in the show they have it for a more compact and sleek design.
Since the figures here are rereleases from the original dc direct versions, I’m gonna make sure that I get them as soon as I see them on the shelves.

there’s nothing about these figures that are mcfarlane influenced. they were developed well before dc direct folded.

5:20 Since you were talking about the designs of each Batman figure and the one I’m talking about wasn’t here, how do you feel about the Justice League/JLU design for Batman? Personally that one is my favorite out of the 3 Batman designs cause it’s like a combination/perfected version of the first 2 with the more angular style of the TNBA design with the brighter colors of the original animated series one. And I hope that one day McFarlane rereleases the figure DC Direct made of that design too. Anyway, I’d love to hear your thoughts about this.

A new DC The New Batman Adventures Animated Batman is coming out soon. The body's the same as the next adventures but the cowl looks a better IMO. Hope you'll get it and make a new comparison video.

I have the first 6in one DC released back in 2013 , the New Batman Adventures design. Solid figure, but I have been getting onto the McFarlane lately. Only issue is that they don’t scale properly…

Thanks for the awesome video and comparisons. I’m the opposite of you. I love the new animated series Batman much more, ever since I was younger. The OG one had a good look but I have my preference. So it’s good to see that when I picked this version of the figure up from GameStop. That I picked a good one. I already have the Batman new animated series figure from dc collectibles. So I bought this adventures continues Batman for collection in the box purposes. Btw the mafex new animated Batman is amazing too!

I think that ‘L’ cut in the Batarang is meant to be a hinge. I think those Batarangs folded in the show. If I remember correctly
