Maybe have a player run PMC group (using independent forces faction) mixed in or a player run civvie pop to make the battles require more selective fire and have a form of relationship status between the factions. This would allow you to have more than just SF as enemy forces and utilise regulars or unequipped forces.

Yeah it sucks cause you can do some really cool stuff by yourself with AI if you take just a little time to learn commands! You can convoys, Heli insertions/extractions! Hop in a Bomber with an AI as the pilot and be the gunner trying to take out Fighters! You can seriously do anything with AI that you can with players!
@@RusttyPanda i remember back in arma 2 (maybe still exists in arma 3) where there was this game mode like liberation but players would get money for clearing towns which they could use for kit or purchasing AI/vics and it was pretty fun. I dont see why you couldnt have huge AI forces with player commanders squaring up.
There used to be a really good Russian server that used rhs and always had a good population of ais and players. Think it’s gone but it was such a good spot

@@karmakut Yeah, you get the same issue as with more realistic medical systems: it sucks when you frequently have to wait for ages until you can get back in the game. One idea I had would be to give people the option to replace themselves with an NPC when they respawn. That NPC would be given the same inventory and injuries as the player and when recovered by the initial faction would provide some resources that are used when spawning (best done with tickets on a server that has them). Capture by the enemy could then lead to the enemy gaining intel.
@@karmakut I would say getting prisoners gives the team that captured a prisoner special equipment or more equipment/reinforcements. So it places a higher value on capturing enemy players and emphasizes on not getting captured because it will hurt you team even more, making for harder battles.
I really think the addition of player controlled small teams is great for this server a little real human intelligence to shake things up every now and again is a good idea

you should play the game foxhole. Its a 24/7 war sim where logistics, fighting, and all that jazz is done by players in a really big map. It seems like the sort of thing that would be right up your alley

The problem with mil-sim games is that they feel less like a game and the person having the most fun is the guy micromanaging simulating what they think is how a team/squad leader acts. I'm just telling from experience as an actual former Infantryman, this is very far what its really like.
yeah the whole micromanaging thing sucks ass, but you can't do much more unless you give those guys proper training so they know what to do when you want to shift as a team etc. I mean here Karma does not micromanage too hard IMO. What is annoying me more is that he seems to be the pointman and SQL at the same time which makes no sense.
what if you had a larger player defending force that could retake positions, however once the attacking team took a base, they could buy soldiers to guard it and set up patrols and stuff, so you could add "manpower" which increases if you take an enemy base but not if you retake an old position, then it goes down whenever a player gets captured/killed. The defending players could respond to an enemy attack, patrol an area or retake a position however if they retake a position its defences will be significantly weaker than before. That way you have to worry about what bases you attack more as they could be wide open to a counter offensive aimed at retaking the base and others around the area that way it creates a much more dynamic gameplay which can change any minute, one day you could own 10 bases, the next it 3 bases got recaptured and you need to take them back
REally cool! I host my own antistasi with a friend and I add alot of this dynamic stuff to my server too! This scale you guys put on is amazing, to make it all work in arma, to make the ai not get stuck on every little thing takes a lot of effort and digging for mods but it is so worth it! Arma is the best sandbox if you want to build your own experience!

I've only played one match in squad and honestly it was kind of bad, no teamwork or communication or even directions from the officer. Being new it felt like a slow game of battlefield. I'm gonna try and get good and join this server, it looks amazing

Could be cool to add the risk of OPFOR getting intel off captured players that they could use in future operations. Or even, surprise BLUEFOR by being ambushed as they are exiting the base to start the missing. I'm sure you've already thought of everything. Really cool scenarios though.
I bought Arma years ago and played Prarie fire for this type of experience. I would love to play this but I think the learning curve is so high all I would do is just piss the other people off on the server.
You can play Arma3 with 8G. I've been playing big scenarios like this (Antistasi) solo and multiplayer with only 8G for the last few years. It works decently as long as you have a half-decent graphics card and shut down every single other piece of software and just run Arma. Wait for it to go on sale for 8$ like it does frequently and go for it.

you really have to be carefull with large missions and AI because if you go too big, performance will go down drasticly. Arma in general has this problem all the time but in this video it seems quite stable. I remember the KOTH servers with 120+ after 30 minutes or so performance decreased cuz of all the destroyed buildings and destroyed assets.
Ehh banning after capture for opfor idk about that, maybe have reserved slots for if captured, forced to bluefor or work with something with the CIV faction.

If my old Arma group had shit like this it would have made playing that game so much better. Instead we got guys trying to Zeus off of the same potato they're playing on so now nobody has any kind of good fps.
There is nothing in the Discord about how to join this server, everything is about how to join your clan, there is a link about getting to play certain roles on the server, but I don't care about that I just want the modlist and the password, I've read the rules but no Password or Modlist to be found anywhere.

Your kits even look like Wagner lol with the mix match of multicam and russian frogcamo. it would be dope to switch it to where a small group of ukrainian defenders fights off against waves of russian conscripts. Kill KOG is very cool but I like the KOG vs Lib server dynamic because it seems much more realistic on a massive large scale.
