- This is the 1st part of a 4 part series of videos that trace the history of Scalby Mills, Scarborough, from 1804 to the present day. Part 2 will be uploaded by the end of May 2021. Part 3 and 4 will be uploaded during the summer. This part features Scalby Beck, Scalby Ness and Monkey Island.

Great video, have been visiting Scarborough from Glasgow since the early 60's with my parents, we always stayed in Scalby Mills, still love visiting it today, but I knew absolutely nothing about monkey Island.
Pleased you liked it - have a look at the part 2 - lots more info on the 4 water mills. Part 3 in coming along and that deals with the period 1960 to 1980 - I have not yet finished part 3 but will post a link when it is done.

Had my first pint at Scalby Mills pub whilst as an extra in "The desert song" at the Open Air Theatre.Must have been about 16

Part Two is coming along, I was going to post months ago but then I found a lot more info and also went down to explore the remains of HIgh Mill. Because of all the extra content it is taking a lot longer to complete part 2. As soon as it is finished I will pop the link on for you all.
