That was a huge miss. Especially when a character was included that most probably won't even remember because they were on it for about a year. Deidrie was a main character for decades had some of the biggest story lines in that show. Big big miss!!! ☹
Wow. Too many ads! Thanks for the tribute. Now to those still living. 70 years plus: Thelma Barlow, Bill Roache, Barbara Knox, Helen Worth, Sue Nicholls, Eileen Derbyshire, Julie Goodyear, Amanda Barrie, Anne Reid, Kenneth Farrington, John Bowe, David Neilson……
Thank you I grew up watching Coronation Street from the very beginning , sitting with my nan and mum., I stopped watching years ago, when the newcomers came in the Street...lovely memories though❤ of growing up...
It's both sad and somewhat strange to think that these people who (like everyone else) were full of character, quirks and personality no longer exist. It makes you wonder what the reason is for being a living, conscious being for a brief moment in time.
Forgot to add Ernst Walder, Ivan Cheveski, Christine Hargreaves, Christine Hardman, Joan Heath, May Hardman, Betty Albert, Florrie Lyndley, Richard Davies, Idris, Hopkins, Kathy Staff, Vera Hopkins, Jessie Evans, Granny Hopkins, Brian Hibbard, Doug Murray, Frank Pembleton, Frank Barlow Gordon Rollins, Charlie Moffat and Mark Eden, Alan Bradley.
He cane to Cjeadon Village to visit an old school friend. My sister goo poop t his autograph fii pop e me and he said something like Hey up Alf Roberts without his horse.
I'm getting old, only 6 characters I didn't recognize. Geoffrey Hughes (Eddy Yeats) lived quite close to me in later life. Often saw him in a local supermarket - always had a kind word and smile for people
@SuzyQ334 - Suzy, this video was uploaded in April 2024. There is another longer video I have seen on TH-cam showing more characters who are now deceased. That one does include Anne Kirkbride, and many others.
It may sound strange but even though some of these people actually died before i was born, but i have seen alot of them from TH-cam videos as i do love coronation street with a huge passion and did actually feel sad for each person as they all made coronation street what it was/is and are all brilliant even now after theyre gone i hope there having the best time up in heaven rip ❤
My Auntie was briefly in the show in the 70s .. Played Alf Roberts fancy bit. Plus many other TV shows/ films and West End Stage plays. Elizabeth Lax - Never forget ❤
It's the ones born in the 1890's who hit different. I remember their characters (vaguely, as I was a child), but seeing their birthdates in the 19th century really gets to me.
So funny at times especially Stan / Hilda and Jack/Vera . Puts ‘Friends’ to shame imho! Real humour without stupid Canned laughter ! Also Fred Elliot : priceless!!
Best thing about so many of these actors ? They NEVER come across like they're acting - TOTALLY believable characters ! Been watching 'Corrie' for decades now - my daily, guilty pleasure - wouldn't miss it ! Unless I die, of course ! LOL.... :)
One of the pictures of Meg Johnson is of an entirely different woman - how can you have two images side by side that are so different yet you go ahead and post them?
People change as they age: weight loss, aging, different clothing, exercise, illness, and faces look different. The hardest part about these videos is really avoiding these mistakes, especially when you don't know the actors. And if they aren't mislabeled on the internet, you're at a lost cause. Fortunately, I have a considerate audience that points out mistakes so I can correct them and not repeat them. Which picture do you mean exactly? I'll replace it and have it corrected in a future video update.
@@listoholic4507 Thank you. I went to Wikipedia and looked it up after I left my question. It looks like he was the youngest to pass away on your video.

Glad that you don't miss them now
As I approach the age many of them passed away at you realise your own mortality very quickly. Life is but a fleeting episode.
Fair comments indeed
Geoffrey Yeats my favorite by miles, one of the funniest and versatile actors going, a legend!!
Hilda Ogden Stan and the rest of the cast in them days would have had oscar s over and over again sadly missed never to be replaced
As an avid fan of the soap, no video has ever made me sadder than this one. RIP all including the lovely Anne Kirkbride.

How could you forget Dirdre Ann Kirkbride 😢
Thanks for putting this together ♥️🎭🍻👏🇦🇺 (you missed Anne Kirkbride)
So sad to think they’ve all gone 😢
You forgot Ernie Bishop (Stephen Hancock)

Yes
Nice to see more than half almost made it to 90.
Also a reminder of how fast time goes by. 😢
I always liked Alf Roberts he looked like a nice man
He cane to Cjeadon Village to visit an old school friend. My sister goo poop t his autograph fii pop e me and he said something like Hey up Alf Roberts without his horse.
I have Bryans photo signed along with a note on the back and that was his trademark Hey up instead of best wishes. He was a nice man indeed.
Or, as Larry Grayson would say : 'seems like a nice boy'.
A well-chosen selection of beloved characters.
The piano accompaniment was perfect, and I for one had a tear in my eye! 😀
What about the unforgettable Arthur Lowe?
Absolutely: unfortunately he was forgotten!!! These posts should be fully comprehensive which they never are !!
Every one missed. Grateful for their dedication and contribution to the entertainment industry.
Bless them all great actors ❤❤😂

@@josephphelan646 Your right there it was just Anne Kirk Bride that was missing Thankyou for that She’s on there i saw it just then. 👍
In the sixties there were only three channels and millions of viewers watched it. How many watch it these days ?. I last watched it thirty years ago.
Sadly it's just garbage now
Arthur Lowe.
I don't know how old this video is but you missed Anne Kirkbride (Deirdre Barlow).
I don’t think it’s that old because Fred Elliot was on there and he died this year 2024

Cant believe Jack Walker has passed. So young.
Some of these had good innings
This mad me sad growing up with most of these faces…. Ones I remember
Fred Elliott, jack and Vera Betty with her hot pot 😪 and Hilda
Thought Julie Goodyear had passed but I just checked and pleased to see she's still going at 82.
Heh, heh, you 'bumped her off' early !
Julie has dementia. X
I still watch corrie and also the classics too, so a lot of these characters are still in them. ❤

Before he was the Artful Dodger and a Monkee?

Actually, yes. Except when I mistyped something. The problem is, when you type 156 dates (4 * 39), you become blind to mistakes.
