Audi-80B4 Fan resistor modification / reparation.

You have bypassed a thermal fuse (15 amp 240 degrees celcius) with a normal current limiting fuse. The resisors are not protected.

I had the same problem on my audi 80. The first and second speeds did not work. The resistor was good. The problem is contacts behind the knob. Why this modification? thanks

Thanks for the question. I needed to find fast cheap solution. I had to wait long time (weeks) for that resistor inside. In addition, now I can change the fuse I have installed very easy. Maybe it is not the best solution but it works …

I still have the same problem on my A4 1.9 TDI. I've changed the Resistor with another one (used), but problem still remains: i have only the highest speed on blower. That small, round silver piece on the Resistor is what? Internal Fuse? Diode? Capacitor?

@@66mickeyzg That is thermal Fuse. Make a BY-PASS like me. I should work. Anyway you have 2 resistors so you can try.

I have B4 from 93' , and having problems finding that resistor... Can it be located somewhere else or am I not looking good enough?

Found, it's not the same type as urs tho,was located at the side of the fan
