So loved this episode, I adore snow and we will definitely be doing a snow trip. Nothing like pushing it down a track with a storm coming lol 😂 good stuff guys ❤
Hi It’s Terry ..meet you at the Brisbane Caravan Show..we have a Grandson born the same week Ollie was born..just watch your latest Post..can only Comment…We so Love you Guys…we feel good after watching…Thanks.
CrowNuts rock don’t they👍👍 and who doesn’t love apple pie, try rolled oats rather than bread crumbs Looks like the boys might need some chains for their trucks😉 Ya could of used that boat as a family size toboggan 😂😂 Another fantastic episode guys🏆
Nice try Nick. Love little finnys tanty in the snow! Elenyas cooking looked delicious..😍 I bet it was so cold at night. ❄️ Cool vlog. Thanks Elnick family. ❤️🇦🇺🦘
My wife and I are disappointed we didn’t meet you there, we were there at the same time but camped in the upper island bend campground. We didn’t see your new truck but we did see where you camped and your van when we went for a walk. We also got bogged in the snow ( 2ft deep )on the same day at Perisher on the side of the road cause I wanted to see how my Dmax would go, it didn’t and my wife had the same reaction as yours. We are from W.A. and are so glad we made this trip as we have never played or stayed in the snow. It really was the best time with such a good snow fall and experiencing a blizzard. Happy travels and keep exploring
Fantastic Clip Guys, ❤d it, you got sum great pics in the snow 👍🏻☃️🔥u nailed the apple crumble well done Elenya Looking forward to next week Enjoy Guys Safe travels & Take care 😘
That was such a fun episode to watch. The banter between the two of you is amazing and always makes me smile, especially at 29:33😂😂Thanks for taking us for a drive in the high country.
Hey guys, great episode, 😂 I bet there was a few tangled conversations in that and some frosty looks !😉 🤣🤣 Elenya, the apple crumble looks like you did a good job👍👏, Ollie looked sooo cute with Nick at the tobogganing ❤
You know it 😂 a lot of head shaking hahaa (: The crumble turned out better than I thought (: Ollie is a good little boy but growing too quick! (: thanks for watching (:
In the 80’s and 90’s I often used to drive my Chrysler Sigma sedan to Island Bend to cross country ski on the main range. A set of chains meant we could go anywhere. I can remember waking with two feet of snow up the side of my tent.
Great episode I was there with a mate on motorbikes just over 40 years ago in September woke up with snow was stuck there for two nights you brought back some good memories thanks heaps.
This was the second video I’ve watched today where two Australian families with identical truck’s and children got stuck from not being fully prepared for the conditions. The first driver was south of Alice Springs and tried to drive too close to water. Sunk over a foot in the clay. No front winch. These guys went up a steep snowed in road before a winter storm without tire chains. Regarding your batteries going down you ought to park the boat off the truck during winter and get a 5000 watt generator for your truck. You could have plugged in the trailer and ran the generator all night besides charging your trailer batteries back up. Both families had too close of a call.
Loved it! Gr8 Ep guy’s. Ur right about having a rear winch on that thing, have u considered maybe a diff locker or 2 (not cheap), I mention this because of ‘The Cartwrights” expeditions through the desert recently gave him some trouble in the sand getting up a dune with a similar setup to yours, a NPS towing a 25’ van & 3 kids, something I think u would enjoy watching, & us viewers are guessing we’ll see a episode of “Elnick Adventures & the Cartwrights”, get together before too long, I think you guy’s teaming up would make for some really gr8 family fun viewing & adventures, & I’m sure you guys would love doing it too. I like how you threw the ingredients together, looked like it came out pretty good overall, I think warmer butter may have allowed u to make it a bit of a chunkier mix tho, as it did look a bit on the powdery side. My mother used to make an excellent apple stroisel (strudel?), & her secret was to put a layer of sliced banana on top of the apple which helped to stop as much moisture getting into the strudel while baking, but also gave it a really nice extra flavour, it was always one of my favourites. Here’s a new one to try: “Bread & Butter Pudding”, maybe look it up for better measures, but the guts of this poor mans recipe is you can use ur stale-ish bread it soaks up the milky brew better to make a nice custardy desert. First, butter up slices with jam on top of each slice, Plum is good, but you can use strawberry, apricot, fig , honey, golden syrup, or whatever you got or prefer, stack slices in layers not sure how many 3-5 deep (probly doesn’t matter much, depends mainly on how deep is ur cooking dish) scatter a good layer of coconut on top (and maybe a sprinkle on top of each slice 1st would be good too), mix a couple of eggs with some milk & sugar & carefully pour over layers that are only as high as ur cooking dish is deep to the lower side of the top slice, u can cut bread into 1/2 or 1/3 slices to fill ur cooking dish around the full bread slices in it, it doesn’t matter, (maybe do the top sprinkle coat of coconut after pouring in milk mix), put in oven till it just browns up a bit nicely on top slice and ‘voila’ you have a lovely desert, nice on its own or with a bit of cream, ice cream or custard. Give it a go, the kids will love it & so will you. Happy camping. Cheers
Nice recovery out deep. I’m the toboggan king! Try to kneel, on the toboggan and use hands and feet to steer. But that seemed to be really hard snow. Sometimes a face plant can be fun
Awesome episode 🙏 guys, living the dream with your family, so good 🙂, treasured memories, cooking segment cool as 😂. I like the banter😂 , good kids. Maybe need lockers on the front and rear diffs guys , true 4*4, expensive extra guy's. Have fun and safe travels ❤
Thanks for reply guy's, lockers enable you to engage true 4 wheel drive as so called 4 wheel drive are a limited slip diff, depending on wieght distribution, diff breathers can simly be attached to a hose, this will stop water getting into diffs, a must in saltwater or any water, big bucks if water gets into diffs, simply Google, diy nick. Cheers lovely family.
Hi Nick you do know that you can plug your extension lead into the inverter on the truck and plug it into the DC inlet on the caravan and charge the batteries if there is no or limited sun ☀️
Honestly… nope 😂 nick had initially said to us all that the road led back onto the main road but obviously not 😂 I swear he wanted to get bogged though! Haha
Well Nick, we all know who to come to for advice on retrieving bogged vehicles, it appears you've now attained professionl status, but that aside, another extremely humorous episode, well done you two plus 3.
Another great Video. Aren't these trucks just awesome. I noticed that you haven't got a guard in front of your Air con condenser. Get your selves one before its too late.🙂🙂
Great episode guys watching it made me feel cold good to see the gourmet cooking back it looked pretty good I could smell that apple 🍎 crumble from here I could see that the kids loved the snow ❄️ at least the boat 🚢 has got wet you guys are the best cheers legends ☺️
If the truck has a 240v inverter, plug it in to the 240v inlet on the caravan for a few hours. You’ll charger the battery up when your driving in the truck.
Fare call, just a thought maybe also add a small 240v 60amp charger if you ever need to charge the van from the truck. All good love the vid. Have fun and take care. Hans
Hi , just an idea for you can couple a 6-10 hp small gas engine to a truck alternator. This would get you by in a pinch to charge the caravan batteries up with out running the truck , also a small gas engine will run on propane . And should you ever have problems with the trucks charging system you would have a back up . And you should be able to set this up to charge lithium batteries .. Running a gen. to use AC to charge a DC battery is not very efficient. Cooking I take my 10 inch cast iron skillet with cast iron cover and steam and bake my food in it . Perfect meals every time .Very simple baking or steaming , baking I put 4 stainless steel nuts in the pan under a piece of flat steel so it’s off the bottom of the pan put a little oil on the plate , put my meat on the plate cover on in oven at 350F. . Most meats around 30 min. if not frozen . About 10 min. before being done I put my veggies in a open aluminum foil envelope on the plate next to the meat , cover back on , most veggies are done in 8 to 10 . Steaming stuff I add a extra nut to raise the plate a bit more off the bottom of the to get enough water in without the meat being in the water steam will cook a bit faster . Veggies cook real fast in steam so be careful . With this skillet cooking you can lt burn anything unless you try to burn it . Use the timer on your phone .
Hahaha well it didn’t take long to get bogged🤣🤣🤣legend of bogged and any reason to use the winch You two are a classic together. If only Elenya didn’t drive the wrong way!!🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️🤬🤬 Haha those crashes would’ve been city drivers being impatient 🤬🤬 The kids loved the toboggans👌🏻 Elenya that wasn’t pineapple juice in the snow!!🤣🤣🤣😜😜🤮🤮🤮
Question for Elenya, Suzie gets bogged, Maxi gets bogged ? I've go and looked at 24 other episodes and I'm starting to think there is a common denominator with all these bogging. 😅😅😅. Great stuff team, although I do see alot of me in Nick, sticking your nose in places that maybe we shouldn't. 😮😅😊
Really enjoy watching you guys, Be careful using the engine brake on slippery roads ,as you are only braking the truck and not the van . You could very easily have the van try to push the truck around, there should be a warning in the trucks manual . It is safer to use the brakes on the van to keep you straight. I have done this with Trucks used the trailer brakes to keep the rig straight, best of luck with the new rig and your adventures

Glad you enjoyed it (: thanks for watching! 😂
Great video guys
Glad you enjoyed it (: thanks for watching!
Great adventure, I thought it would take a bit longer before you were bogged. It must feel like luxury with the extra room in Suzi.
Hahha don’t be silly! Nicks the driver he always finds a way to get us bogged! 😂 yes it is! It’s so great (: thanks for watching 🤠
That is such a cool unit well done guys

Hi Nick you do know that you can plug your extension lead into the inverter on the truck and plug it into the DC inlet on the caravan and charge the batteries if there is no or limited sun ☀️
Hey the charger in the van is a 180 amps charger 🙌
WOW! What an epic episode. That looked like so much fun.
Be honest, you got bogged on purpose?! I would have wanted to give the winch a run too 🤣👍
Honestly… nope 😂 nick had initially said to us all that the road led back onto the main road but obviously not 😂 I swear he wanted to get bogged though! Haha

If the truck has a 240v inverter, plug it in to the 240v inlet on the caravan for a few hours. You’ll charger the battery up when your driving in the truck.
The truck has an inverter but the caravan inverter charger is a 180 amp charger :)
Fare call, just a thought maybe also add a small 240v 60amp charger if you ever need to charge the van from the truck. All good love the vid. Have fun and take care. Hans
What a lovely family

Thanks for all these tips very handy and will have to give them a go !! Thanks for watching 🤠and hope to see you on the next one 👍
This where you need a genie as a back up.
We sure do (: thanks for watching 🙌
Hahaha well it didn’t take long to get bogged🤣🤣🤣legend of bogged and any reason to use the winch
You two are a classic together. If only Elenya didn’t drive the wrong way!!🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️🤬🤬

Hahahaha yea I definatly think your right there is a common person hahah it’s all about the adventure !! Thanks for watching🤠👍
only a aussie would take a boat into the snow lol ... way cool
😂😂😂 just incase we needed a bigger Toboggan 😂
Good stuff guys.
I love the exhaust brake in my truck far safer on decents.
Great to see you on the road full time. Keep the banter up, its awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it (: thanks for watching Rick! 🙌 how good are the trucks (:
Really enjoy watching you guys, Be careful using the engine brake on slippery roads ,as you are only braking the truck and not the van . You could very easily have the van try to push the truck around, there should be a warning in the trucks manual . It is safer to use the brakes on the van to keep you straight. I have done this with Trucks used the trailer brakes to keep the rig straight, best of luck with the new rig and your adventures

26:40 Great recovery practice 👍 Did not know Australia got snow.
Looks like you had a great time even with the cold. 🥶 🧊 ☃️
What a beast! 🦣
How long did it take you to recharge the van batteries with the truck?
Yes she gets cold this time of the year down south 😂🥶
Takes a couple of hours but we stayed somewhere we could plug into mains and just get it back up within an hour 🙌
That track was snowy how hydro aqueduct line there is a sign on the other end saying don’t enter
There was no sign were we went in 👍 thanks for watching
You must have shares in saudi to get that rig round oz !! 😂😂
Hahaha we wish! 😂 just a lot of hardwork 🙌
@@elnick.adventures i was referring more to the Diesel bill , more than your savings . Im sure u work very hard ! 😂😂
I would not be using your exhaust breaks on snow you’ll end up seeing your caravan going past ya lol
