Adler Pardus Shotgun part 1- 20 inch vs 28 or 30 inch barrells is there a difference

When trying to choose between a shorter or longer barrelled Shotgun, which should I choose.
I thought I would do an experiment with a direct comparison, to see what the difference in pattern would be between a longer barrel to a shorter barrel

It's the chokes that give you the pattern, the longer barrel gives you a better sighting plane and depending on the gun, the longer barrel helps to balance the gun better for natural pointing.

Longer barrel also gives higher velocity i later found

I've just ordered my synthetic Adler and was unsure what barrel length so ordered both 20 and 28". I too am very surprised by your results and your work is really worthwhile. Many thanks for the time and effort you put in.

I’ve shot a 28” shotgun for waterfowl for years....recently I picked up a 24” and liked the way it pointed. The 24” actually patterns better because it has a 10 gauge overbore barrel. Especially once I tuned the load to the choke.
It’s all about choke and load combination. I’ve seen shotguns pattern terrible with one load, but great with another.

Been thinking about a 20 inch Adler or even the 18 peacemaker to run on pigs in the cane but was concerned with how they spread so this helps. Probably say next time circle ya shots with a marker might make them stand out a bit on the camera.

Hard work, but u were not able demonstrate the difference clearly.. should have used colour tapes or colour pen to distinguish patterns.
