@@hypnosis0693 Yeah so if you hang around the Dranuur Colony once it gets developed to a point you can see speech bubble conversations between the Lukari and Kentari. Apparently Kuumarke has been lying by omission for some time. The reason the Lukari left the original planet of Kentar was because they were on the losing side of a war they started via ecoterrorism. Apparently they killed quite a number of Kentari before the Kentari retaliated.
Kinda amusing is that I took out my Odyssey Class out for my first run on this new mission. Really do appreciate the STO Team's efforts in getting great beauty shots of our ships during mission cinematics :)
Nice! Love the new intro. Kinda funny, because your updated flagship is almost a perfect mirror of my own now. All Yorktown parts, Type 7A hull, and a basic gray pattern. I think my colors are a bit lighter than yours, but otherwise the same. Absolutely beautiful, that ship.
I had no idea Ka-Tet's dialogue was so different if you ran the mission on a character who had done Stormbound. I ran it on one who hadn't and he was suspicious but not nearly as angry and shouty.
Man I played all of these completely out of order back in the day, so my memory of them is “oh hey person from a mission that hasn’t happened yet. I think?” And then the time war mission string happened and now I have no clue what started where and how many Klingon wars I’ve fought while flying a Klingon alliance ship. And that pink alien lady with the headband thing showed up in missions but then I had to help her species achieve warp or whatever, implying we had never met before. It was wild.

Mark Hale really doesn't like shore leave. I wonder if because he's from the 23rd century and somehow not fully aware of the entertainment capabilities of 25th century holodecks or the planet Risa? The refitted USS Armiger also looks great.
I allready played that mission but my head canon is this and if it is only for the Intro of this one. Also love the ESD Club to play some good music for once that isnt lift music only.
First of all, fantastic video been waiting for this. Secondly, As a fellow player of STO.... Please, please sort out your Ground and Space Hotbars. It causes physical pain seeing them so.... disorganised. Thirdly, does this mean the Tox Uthat was created because Kuumaarke re-created a proto-proto-proto version to relight the Na'Kuhls star? Time Travel, not even once!
2 minds. Everyone deserves help. Consodering we see the outcome of failing to help, helping them prevents that known outcome. The most selfless reason and the selfish reason both are reason enough to help.
Well, a bunch of random strangers barged into their home system and the result was a dying sun/homeworld, and for centuries Starfleet will refuse to fix the problem and even buddy up to the Tholians who caused it.
@@ffnbbqsaid help was the suggestion for time travel to help fix the Nakhul Star. In this case the Tholian meddling allows Kuumarke to shift time by creating the early research for the Tux Utat and stabilize Nakhul relations. So even if the Star isn't fixable for a while only a small fraction of the species is in the temporal war. So win win all around.
Considering it was the Tholians who used the Tox Uthat on the Na'Kuhl sun in the first place, and [player character] is guilty of nothing more than being unable to stop them, you'd think the Na'Kuhl would cut us some slack already! As for the Tholians; they really seem to want the Na'Kuhl dead for some reason. What's their deal, anyway?
In the 23rd century the Na'Kuhl wiped out an entire major colony fleet of Tholians & tried to blame it on the Federation so the Tholians & UFP would go to war. The Tholians found out about the Na'Kuhl being behind the plot due to the actions of the player-character if they're a 23rd century Starfleet officer (like Mark Hale for this series is) & so the Tholians swore vengeance. So paradoxically the Na'Kuhl are responsible for the current situation of their star due to time travel shenanigans.
@@occultatumquaestio5226 it's been so long since I saw or played the TOS missions, I've forgotten all the details. Time to re-watch all Ric's old vidoes, I guess :D
@@occultatumquaestio5226 I think you're not taking into account that time travel was involved. The Na'Kuhl of the 25th century (the present) had nothing to do with the attack on the Tholians in the 23rd century. The ones who attacked the Tholians were part of Future Guy's Temporal Liberation Front, which the the Na'kuhl joined in the *28th century* only after the Federation refused to use time travel to prevent their sun's destruction. So the ones who attacked the Tholians were from the distant future. As far as we know, the Tholians were involved with the Temporal Cold War during Archer's time, and have been trying to get the Tox Uhat since then. I think the point of this storyline was, fix the problem that the Federation was partially responsible for, then the Na'kuhl will never join the TLF in the future.
@@ffnbbq I did take the time travel involved into account. The Na'Kuhl of the 28th century would not have joined the TLF if not for the Na'Kuhl of the 29th century attacking the Tholians in the 23rd century leading to the Tholians seeking retribution against the Nu'Kuhl in the 25th century using the Tox Uhat from the 27th century. So really it is the Vorgons' fault.
There is one idea that would be visited in the delta quadrant after picard S3. The massive borg power vacuum. Like, with the destruction of the borg queen, there is a very massive power vacuum in the delta quadrant after the extinction of the borg collective. That could be a very interesting idea of who'll fill that power vacuum.

You can't make an omelet without crushing a few skulls. Wait, no... is that right? Eh, we'll go with that. So, if you manage to... switch off the fusion reaction in a star, it wouldn't just peacefully turn into a cinder. It would collapse under its own weight, since it was the "pressure" from the ongoing nuclear explosion that was counteracting the force of gravity. That would likely result in a "splash" of shed matter, kind of like a half-baked nova, with appropriately cataclysmic results for any planets in the neighbourhood. The remains of the star would then probably form something like a brown dwarf, with nowhere near enough mass to be rekindled, even if you happen to have a quantum phase inhibitor.
