5:22 This "cool reversal" is called Wrist Roll. Very common technique in both Freestyle and Folkstyle wrestling. You can pull it off from Referee's position, like Priit is doing here. But you'll get even more power if you first transition to a Tripod position (rotating on your head/shoulder to get an angle on your opponent) before you hit the Wrist Roll. The power of the torque will multiply.

50 yr old brown belt. I've been using Priit's (and Telles) defensive measures and turtle guard since blue belt, and it is a very effective way for older guys to neutralize young athletic guys. Even though Jordan wasn't trying you can see his skill in breaking down Priit's defense, but Jordan is also younger and much more fit. But Jordan is a pro. For most of us rec guys, this type of defensive guard is really beneficial. I haven't tried it against many black belts, but pretty much any young purple or blue has a very hard time with this until they get tired and then the old man pounces. I think this would be a great guard for a young guy too but most probably wont be patient enough to learn it, it's a lot of small little movements that takes time to learn. (Ex. Shoulder up during hawking, etc.) Jordan always has excellent content. Thanks again Jordan~

Priit's stuff was game changing for me as a black belt. And I really like your stuff as well Jordan. It was really cool to watch two great minds at work.
I’ve been using Priit’s defensive methods since I was a blue belt (I’m now a brown belt) and like many said…it’s a game changer. I use it in both gi and no gi. You just have to get it out of your mind that turning your back to your opponent is the worst thing you can do. It’s not. I let guys grab my neck all the time, I just don’t allow them the underhook to get any seatbelt grip. For the more advanced guys who do no gi, you can think of the false reap as a form of turtle position. I always go for inverted cross ashi attacks from turtle as soon as they step in between my legs. Priit also mentions that if you really want to see defensive wisardery in real competitive, watch Jeff Glover and Eduardo Telles.
With all the options these days, I want my technique selection to be effective in as many paradigms as possible...gi, nogi, mma, street fighting. Are any of the postures he teaches pass through all these filters? Thanks in advance
