You're right, he has a very unique sound... I could imagine Alice Cooper could have done an interesting take on this, he's got similarly "dirty" sounding voice.
It was borne of his soul. And he poured out everything into this album. Making it one of the best albums ever made. Sound and soul is what makes it. Younger bands. Take heed. If ya make a song, pour every emotion in your heart into it. Cry, crack, make people feel what you feel. That's power. And that's what makes something people will remember.
@@adalwulf435 They just aren't talked about much compared to their counterparts. They should be up there with Maiden and Priest. Motley Crue got a fucking movie and they were half the band WASP was (imo).
This is such a beautiful song. So much emotion and so powerful. I wanted to add it to my laundry list of requests, but didn't. The album it's on is a concept album that is the soundtrack for a film called The Crimson Idol. I've not seen it, but I'll get to it soon, I hope. Another song by WASP that I'll recommend is Forever Free. It's another powerful and emotional song. #MetalChickPick
Blackie has a voice you can hear to your bones. The very beginning of the song has a talking part that actually sets the tone of the song. WASP really are an underrated band.
Thanks for playing my song. I had a great birthday. Blackie Lawless the lead singer and founder of the band has never come out and said what it stands for. Their debut album had the words We Are Sexual Perverts on it, while others say it stands for White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. He has also said it stands for we ain't sure pal, and also that it is just a bug. Another favorite song of thiers is Wild Child. That was my nickname in high school, I graduated in 1986.
Always liked W.A.S.P. and it was interesting to watch them evolve musically with each album. Still enjoy their first album for it's raw energy and sound.

Dude, you gotta get Still Not Black Enough. It's an amazing album and builds on many of the themes from TCI. Not a "sequel" but there are some references to crimson/red and Jonathan. If you like Lawless ballads, you cannot find anything more emotive than "Holding On" and "Breathe" (both from SNBE). And if you can find all the singles or the international releases with bonus tracks, you'll be treated to the most cover songs within a single album's recording sessions. The best representation of who was was back in the 80s is the song "wild child" and "love machine".....but most notably "I fuck like a beast" was the song that made them that thing you needed to see what it was about

Truely great band, so underrated. Can you please react to another classic of their's Wild Child it's epic. Also some more recent songs from the Golgotha album are superb.

The lead guitar on this track was the late Bob Kulick brother to Bruce Kulick of KISS.
Bob Kulick influenced me greatly as a guitar player. He plays with such emotion.
RIP Bob we still enjoy all your music.
#painintheask W.A.S.P. - Sleeping (in the Fire) - a classic and one of my faves by them
Love W.A.S.P... need to listen to the album K.F.D. by them.. Heaviest and Darkest album by far. Album very underrated.
How about Heavens hung in black by wasp? Kel will love it.
When Blackie wrote this album he wanted to show everyone the harsh and downside of the rock star life. The side that is rarely seen by everyone.
Oh sure he did ☺Saw the re idolized show. Amazing show ❤
