Much respect to Chavo for putting family first. Always enjoyed his work, even back in WCW. I don't remember who said it, but a lot of the wrestlers once they hang up their boots and go home, they realize they've been gone so long that they become the an anomaly at home. So good for Chavo for always being there for his family.

In 2007, WWE came to Spain, I saw the show live at the "Palacio de los Deportes", in Madrid. There was a Chavo Guerrero vs Chris Benoit for the U.S. title match.
I was cheering for Benoit and I said some really bad things to Chavo.
Chavo, Hermano, I take back what I said to you. You're a hell of a fighter. I didn't understand the difference between a storyline and real life, and I said some pretty strong words to you and most of the crowd, but one more time, I take back what I said to you. Thank you for all.

Yeah, poor Chavo was the last to see Eddie and Benoit when they were still wrestling at the time before they died, despite how much it was killing them to do it. It's a shame he couldn't convince either one of them to get out of wrestling when they felt they couldn't do it anymore. Especially Benoit after Eddie died, he should've stopped in 2006.

The thing about eddie was just sad. Like yes you are a wrestler but now you're a dad. That's also a important job. I imagined he had made enough money to not have to worry about continuing to work for at least decades so why not just come home. You made your money so your family can have a comfortable life, be there for them now.

Lets be honest, he left because he wasn't a main eventer, and wasn't even a strong mid-carder. He was a squash match performer by those days. The only time people were truly interested in him, was when he tagged with Eddie. I don't say it to be disrespectful, but in honesty if he was a star, he would never have left. I'm sure he made a great deal of money in WWE, so I would have done the same as him and raise my kids. I'm not going to be losing matches as Kerwin White on Velocity anymore.
