The idea was to make sure we’d keep the iconic riffs preserved from the beginning and then a little “poetic license” after the slide solo (Duane Allman). Tone wise I can assure you I’ve spent a good time reading and of course listening again and again to match Eric’s tone one a way cheaper 5W valve amp. No pedals, just my 1983 Strat into an Epiphone valve junior that I got on eBay for 75 bucks.
The lead singer's voice here fit's this and the original better than Eric Clapton. Not easy to find a tone good enough to match or surpass the fit. Doesn't matter if you can just hit the notes. You have to have the tone. You can only work with what you're born with.
Hello buddy If you are referring to the first few seconds of the intro, that’s how it’s done. They are not the same register tho, they are one octave apart. That how Eric recorded the intro. And the the band joins in, there’s a third guitar playing the same riff, but 2 octave above the main one. I hope that was a decent explanation :) Thanks for watching
