Fun facts: This is the first 0.5x single and 1.5x average for 2x2 in the world! :D Also, the 0.58 single broke the oldest standing world record time in cubing, which was the 2x2 single of 0.69, which was from back in 2011.
This is just crazy. This was done literally two weeks ago. But, there was a big dispute about whether or not the 0.58 should count. The dispute went my way; here's the information: www.worldcubea.... At the time, I had no idea that the 0.58 would count, thus my boring reaction after the single and the average (actually ticked off because the +2). I'll hopefully upload a reaction video from home, haha (already recorded a video from ~10 minutes after finding out that the WCA accepted this).

The solve was FOUR moves to clear up any confusion. And it is SIX moves if you count U2 and R2 each as two moves.
the 0.58 second one wasn't shuffled enough I believe.

That's not why they wanted him to be quiet. You want to avoid reacting so people who are yet to solve don't know there's a really easy scramble coming up.
At cubing competitions everyone gets the same scramble, if you hear that someone just got a world record then you already know theres a 4 move scramble coming up.

Ik this a year ago but my guess is that the 3x3 blind event might have been going on at the same time, so they had to be quiet to not distract the blind solvers
They tried to keep the news about the easy scramble covered up so that other people who would solve it later won't know about it.

Okay, I was keeping this to myself for the longest time, but at 0:26 seconds, right when the secondary angle appears, it sounds like a little girl was falling to her death. Afterwards, somebody said "Five!" I have seen this video countless times, so at least I understand what I have heard over and over again. Besides that, cograts, Rami!

It was because they didn't want anyone knowing about the easy scramble. From what I heard, they turned the displays off too so people wouldn't know.

The scrambles are random. It isnt like somebody just picks up the cube and scrambles it however they want. A computer chooses the scramble.

In first one there were only four step he got lucky.(maybe) that's why we have 3*3 it has very low chance of having that luck on your side and even if u did get ot, the time mostly depends upon the ur solving skills.
