"I have to play this riff." lol. Yes, you do, and we are glad you do because it's a glorious riff and one of the best grease demos there is. A very thorough and considered exploration.
Sold a QC like 2 years ago and I think finally is sounding as intended, effects in general feel a lot better from what I’ve been hearing lately in videos and there is finally a desktop editor. I will certainly buy it again later this year for Christmas or something after Neural make plugin portability a real thing after a long long time
@@LeonToddYeah, me too. I use a bunch of them and they sound epic! I defo gotta have the Soldano plugin on it, that VST has me no longer missing my head.
Heaven Above with both of the different delays with your new CE24 was GLORIOUS!!! I'm digging the CE24 Std! I've had a CE24 Semi-Hollow for a few years now and they're spectacular guitars! Cheers mate!!!!
Hey Leon, great stuff and great playing as always! Next block…let’s say reverbs? Just bought a QC, I wanted to dive in into modern amp modelers after many years of hybrid setup and I can say that I’m actually liking it. I think I’ll buy a fractal unit too, just to compare, I know it’s more deep and “pro”, but I fell in love with the user experience in the QC. Cheers mate!
@@LeonTodd Thanks mate! So far i tried to make some vintage style tones like this early Santana one: th-cam.com/users/shortsMv-Y50XqCaI?si=0b3K_DsJM7YjERpB I actually had some fun on tweaking this QC thing, but I’m fascinated from fractal stuff as well. Let’s see if I can grab one ahah Keep this QC stuff coming, I love your content, as always! Cheers mate!
I actually really like using the reverse delay with an E-Bow. It’s one of my favorites in the quad cortex. I can get some really wild but controllable drone tones.
Great show again leon, qc was my first modding experience and so far after using it since October I really love it, im a simple soul, three or four amp sounds, marshall, fender , Friedman and maybe a mesa do it for me i wish they did better reverb and matched cabinets and had an interal power supply or sturdy plug for us paul hogan types
I think the delays are good and get what most people need. If you are like myself more is more and more is great, so I have an eventide h90 in the loop.
The day fractal release a unit with the power of an FM9 for dual amps in a powered 2x12 cab form for around 700 pounds with separate foot switch including expression pedal and have proper retailers sell it, game over for everyone.
Brother. I don't know how you do it my friend. You like must work really hard to study this stuff. 😂. Not to mention balancing teaching, family time, video construction, band practice, etc. You're a force of nature my brother. 😂❤. . Sounds like your father was the same way. Very cool delays man and you're the expert at this stuff for sure man.. I can't wait to see your review of the UAFX 😂 .. I don't know if I've mentioned that or not. 😂 It's getting warm here my friend. Spring is here and I need to get walking better so I can go stalk some preditors with a target rifle. ❤ Be well my friend and keep up the good work. You really really do deserve millions of views brother. I know you're happy to have what you have, but I don't think your channel gets enough love. I recommend it all the time. Especially when I wear the ragdoll shirt because people love it. ❤ Be well and be safe sir. God speed man ❤
Considering what the forefathers of guitar used we probably shouldn't complain about anything we have these days really.....but some of those classic units have that magical mojo
We used guitars and amps and a lot of discreet parts circuits. Sometimes tape loops. And it all cost an arm and a leg and was really inconvenient to lug around so mostly just guitar and amp. That all started to change around the late 70's. I am gobsmacked and chuffed at what is available now and the quality and sheer amount of tones we can get for what a single amp costs.
Love the Quad Cortex but the delays behave differently than other processors. Is weird but I can’t recreate the delay sounds on my Helix like for example the one I have for U2’s Pride. No matter what I do I can’t get it to sound right in the QC.
Great stuff Leon. I just recently got back into the modelling world. It was between this and fractal. Imo fractal is so far ahead of any other modeler out there, it wasn't a hard choice to go with fractal for me.
The head scratcher for me with the QC,is instead of promising plug-in compatibility, and taking years to implement, why wouldn’t they just model those amps and add them via a firmware update?…Fractal and Line6 have been doing that for years..
So little time yet so many awesome tools coming out for us unworthy guitarist. After all, if left up to us we’d all be playing on cigar boxes in a cave for reverb. God bless the wonderful nerds. Where would we be without them? I shudder to think. 😆
Why everyone on youtube nowadays are afraid of make a clear statement and allways we see titles with question mark? All youtubers say something but afraid of loosing audience and pass their opinion to the audience very neutral and allways with a question mark. You have an opinion. State it without question marks... You cannot please everyone in life...
Hey Leon, hope you can make a quick video on the new Genome update. Liked your initial video. Hopefully you can make time for it? They added new tone stacks for the captures. Also any plans to share your own captures? Maybe make a capture pack. I know you made a NAM capture of your Mesa Boogie. Many thanks.
I've done a few captures (Mark IV, Soldano) that are available on my Patreon for NAM. I want to sit down and do a proper capture pack this year and catalogue all of my amps and preamps!
I would completely expect world class wet effects and if that was not the case that would be a big big issue for a $1600 unit. Helix verbs and delays are great I expect more from newer stuff
Doesn't come close to a Fractal though. I'll get a Fractal when I win the lottery lol. How about posting something on how to achieve these sounds with pedals, rather than very expensive modellers?
Check out any of the delay pedal demo's i've done and I'll probably dial in very similar sounds! Strymon DiG, BOSS DD-8 and the TC2290 demos would be good places to start.
What block should I deep dive next?
Id love to see a deep dive on the reverbs. Great content as always brotha 🤘
Pitch block, I could use a good laugh!
How about doing one on parallel effects blocks routing and uses?
I do it in box as a routine and it gets me that pollished studio recorded sound.
Reverbs! Thx!!!
Chorus? I feel like the assortment is pretty solid on the QC.
Keep the Quad Cortex content coming!! Much appreciated!
More to come!
Best thing about Cortex Control coming out (by far) is LT making QC content like this!
Bless the screen cap feature!
@@LeonTodd Absolutely! Way easier than trying to set a camera up for the QC top panel, I'm sure.

Really keen to check out the big plug in compatibility update. It's been a long time coming!
i did the same, bought one and was massively underwhelmed, they know how to market a product more than they know how to develop one.

Ooooooh awesome idea!
I there a way to get the golden ration delays in the quad cortex as you can in the AXE FX?

Honestly, I don’t need too many delays… I’ve got the axe fx3 and the QC… IMO, the QC is easier to use…
