Why has no one showed the Quad Cortex loading one of the Archetype plugins? Supposedly it's possible, but I don't see anyone doing it. I'd really like to see something like Archetype: Nolly running on Quad Cortex. Does it use the graphics from the VST plugin? Is it just a weird, bare thing just like everything else in QC? (the plugin's are gorgeous-looking, but the QC has a very simple interface approach)
@@GearGasms regardless of the company Mitch himself is very talented and professional at what he does. I mean there are other companies with all the professional support but Mitch is on another level.

I’m SOLD! Mitch, this was by far the best detailed overview of equipment I have witnessed. You carefully explained a complex and involved product without loosing this viewer. I suspect others feel the same. Your professionalism helps to make Sweetwater stand out among the crowded retail marketplace. Thanks again Mitch for this wonderful overview.
I promised myself I wasn't going to get hyped about this until I could physically try one... but then this video happened. You guys are cold blooded enablers!
The single greatest video on the QC. I'm fairly certain this left me without any questions. Only other way I would like to see it used would be with an acoustic guitar using dynamic/condenser mics & onboard electronics the acoustic may have.
As a person who is just starting to explore the options in the digital modeling guitar world, I really appreciate the work that Mitch Gallagher and Sweetwater have done in demonstrating the Quad Cortex in a way that is not laced with hyperbole or personal opinion, one that demonstrates the numerous options and abilities of the Quad Cortex making it a consideration in my digital modeling choice. Thank you Sweetwater.
Best modeler I’ve ever heard, felt or used. No more constant tweaking for a mediocre sound. Love it. Amps come first but really enjoying this. Get lost in playing. Not a heavy metal player. Rock, blues, pop, funk RnB etc. high gain, medium gain,, low gain, clean. Takes external pedals great. Almost didn’t get it because I haven’t liked the “other big guys” but this is great and tbh it’s fun not annoying to deal with.
It's a huge step down compared to the Kemper Stage. I have both. The Quad Cortex has 3 separate switching modes, all of them shitty. It doesn't matter how much power you have under the hood if you can't effectively control it on stage.
@@EricTetz I have the Kemper power rack and it’s a huge step up. If it sounds shitty it could be user error. It sounds and feels great. It’s only as good as you are at tweaking it. And I don’t spend much time tweaking. More time playing. But if the Kemper is your thing than it’s your thing.
Same here. Been playing old Marshalls & Fenders, Vox, Boogie, Orange, Matchless and Hiwatt for close to 30 years. This is the first modeler unit I'm particularly interested in trying. These things always seem to fall apart when I hear them in real life, so...we'll see. I remain skeptical, because no one bothers to try to reproduce what I consider to be great guitar tones in these reviews. Let's hear the sound of Brian May's AC30, or Malcom Young's Super Bass, or SRV's Fender Blackface. I want to hear a really dynamic clean/crunch tone that shows response to pick attack and the guitar volume knob. Then I'm sold.
Mitch, you never cease to amaze me by making some of the best, thorough, in-depth overviews of music gear. I’m an owner of an Axe FX III and not gonna lie, seeing the Quad Core and the ease of use of it’s interface along with the sounds themselves makes it enticing to want to purchase. But, I know that would be over indulgence when I haven’t even use the Axe FX to it’s fullest extent. One of the hardest things as a music gear head sometimes is learning contentment.
I just ordered mine yesterday during gearfest and I am super stoked to dig in to that beast! Mitch, you are GREAT at what you do. Sweetwater certainly scored big when they brought you into the family my friend!! Very thorough review and I will be back once I get my unit to review some features for sure! Cheers to you all and keep up the good work! God bless!
Great demo Sweetwater!! I've already pre-ordered this product last month. Seems like a great product. I know, I know it's backordered. Juuussst waiting patiently now. 😏👍
I've watched a dozen Quad Cortex reviews and this was the best one hands down. All the others were more about tone than functionality. I guess that's the difference between amateurs & pro's.
Wow! The Quad has literally changed live music.....as long as guitar player has a guitar or two, the Quad and a badass PA......he/she is kicking ass..... technology really has taken guitar playing to a entirely new level!!!
great video -- I received a shipment of 50 of these a few months ago and I wasn't sure how to use them until now -- was just using them to adjust the height of my computer monitor

The GUI on the QC is fantastic and the o/s and stock offerings are only going to improve with every update. Am very tempted to jump ship over to QC.
Thanks for the excellent review Mitch! While we are still patiently *cough* waiting for them to ship, how about a demo of 3 musicians at a time using it? Guitar/bass/vocal?
Just saying - I want the QC … it will be a great unit - pluses - Touch Screen - Capture - Mic placement - cool buttons/knobs - But the paths looooook very familiar and I’d say that particular unit has about 5 years on it - I also can use its joystick to build a preset in just about as fas as I could on a touch screen I do want one but I’m not unhappy with my current squeeze- the Helix Rack
Thanks for the review Mitch. Well Done. I'm on the list at Sweetwater for one. I hope this is as good as everyone is saying. Neural is saying shipping by the end of the month. Fingers crossed.
Is there less latency using this as an interface via USB than there is when plugging it into an existing interface? I just got mine and I’m plugging in to my avid interface. Even using a clean with no effects are having latency, worse with effects, most noticeable when playing 16th notes. It’s tolerable, but if using it as the main interface via usb makes that big of of difference then I curious. I’ve not had the chance to try it yet. Oh yeah, another weird thing, is that there is more latency using a completely clean tone with not effects than there is playing with heavy gain.
Can we get a change to the release date estimation on the site. It changes every time I look and if Neural can't pull it together to meet your deadline, it only makes SW look bad too. I'm wondering when confidence will change to mid April. Edit: Now it.actually says mid April.
Hi, tonychan9637! Thanks for your message, hope you’re well. From the QC Wiki page: “For pedals, you typically set the gain, tone and volume of the pedal in the context of a signal chain, getting it to do what you want it to do in terms of saturation, volume boost/cut (who ever cuts?) and tone. So when capturing the pedal, you likely want to keep the capture levels at 0 dB so the resulting capture block behaves the same way as the real pedal did in the same signal chain. The capture will have the same gain/saturation and volume with the capture block parameters set at 0 dB. Hello! at 12' 30 '' you speak about parallel signal, and how to split it. But to me it is not a real parallel signal, because you have 2 direct signals, you should be able to make te signal passing thru the dly completely wet and choose the amount of dly with a volume knob, but ther is not any volume knob.
The sound you’re hearing in the video was recorded directly into PreSonus Studio One on my MacBook, using the Quad Cortex USB connection as the audio interface.
