California BrownTurkey fig in Charlotte NC

This video is about the California Brown Turkey fig tree growing in Charlotte, North Carolina. It's very prolific and a dwarf tree. Figs ripen late in the year and are large! However, it is not that hardy. If temps drop too low, it will die to the ground and come back the next year. This is why a lot of fig trees in the Southeast are huge bushes and not your normal center leader straight upright tree. Our yo-yo climate sometimes kill the tree above ground. When spring comes, it grows back from the rootball.
