The BaconGators Yes, it is real. If they have a weight in the upper right corner of the wheel, it will balance on a tilt. When it is bumped, the momentum of the weight pushes the wheel upwards about 1/3 of a revolution

The Tires may appear uniform and the weight homogenously distributed. They are not. They have added weight at the top, on the inside, which made them Top Heavy and unstable. Now they can be balanced. But any disturbance and Gravity adds the Energy for the rotational momentum. It is a good illusion...and quite real. It is amazing what Engineers can do. To all the 'clever know-it-alls' who say it's impossible to make the tyres go uphill. Think about it, go on, put your brain cells into action. Use them for what they were inteneded. What do yo think would happen if there was a weight inside of the tyre that was set at the top of the wheel, and all nicely balanced, so that a little prod made the weight unbalanced. Do you think gravity would pull the weight down? Do you think that would make the wheel rotate? And make it go uphill?
my problem with this video is not the wheels it's that somethings move more smoothly then they should and other things don't move smoothly enough as it should, not to mention that some of the physics of some objects hitting at the perfect angles all the way through without a single screw up and the cost of time to make it perfect vs the time it would take to animate it

If a filament or string is weaved over and under the tire tread with a weight at the top of the ramp, each tire will move up the ramp because the weight is pulling down.

I can't say the video is real or not but for commenters to say "a wheel can't roll uphill" is just wrong. The center of a wheel can move up if the potential energy and torque is provided by a counter weight. Such a weights could well have been attached to the rear of each of the wheels.
This video might be 4 years old, but I'm going to make the comment anyway. For all you people saying that it's fake, it isn't. The part where the wheels rolled upward can be accomplished. Using my knowledge of physics, the way that was done was by using Newton's 3rd Law of Motion ("For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction") and Inertia, which is any objects resistance to any change in its state of motion, this includes changes to speed and direction. How the wheels moved upward is quite simple if you think about it: By the first wheel being pushed off, it picks up speed, and since it's bigger than the rest of the wheels, it has more energy to push the others. So when the second wheel is pushed, it is hit with enough energy to roll due to inertia and the reaction of being pushed, but that's nowhere near the force needed to push it upward all the way, so what happened was the wheel also had weights on it, which were heavy enough to get the wheel to roll forward. The next two wheels followed the pattern, which allowed them to roll all the way up. Don't quote me on any of this, it might be wrong. I am only 13 after all.

The task is to push the car off to advertise it, which of course could have been done much more easily, although, "Isn't it nice, when things just work?," For that to be appropriate here, they would need something overly complicated, but something that still works. Whatever floats the boat, I suppose.

Hey, those of you that doubt the authenticity of the vid, how about instead of trying to be the smartest guy in the room, you do your due diligence and research it. Novel concept for many of you I'm sure, but there are multiple "making of" vids on TH-cam and other sites that show them in fact creating exactly what you see. There's no conspiracy, just enjoy the damn thing. Ugh.

This comment section is cancerous. The tires have weights in them causing them to roll up the ramp obviously. And this is actually real.
I can't say the video is real or not but for commenters to say "a wheel can't roll uphill" is just wrong. The center of a wheel can move up if the potential energy and torque is provided by a counter weight. Such a weights could well have been attached to the rear of each of the wheels.

For all you people saying that it's fake, it isn't. The part where the wheels rolled upward can be accomplished.
Using my knowledge of physics, the way that was done was by using Newton's 3rd Law of Motion ("For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction") and Inertia, which is any objects resistance to any change in its state of motion, this includes changes to speed and direction.
How the wheels moved upward is quite simple if you think about it:
By the first wheel being pushed off, it picks up speed, and since it's bigger than the rest of the wheels, it has more energy to push the others.
So when the second wheel is pushed, it is hit with enough energy to roll due to inertia and the reaction of being pushed, but that's nowhere near the force needed to push it upward all the way, so what happened was the wheel also had weights on it, which were heavy enough to get the wheel to roll forward.
The next two wheels followed the pattern, which allowed them to roll all the way up.
Don't quote me on any of this, it might be wrong. I am only 13 after all.
Kyle Berry Also, this isn't exactly dominoes. This is more of a Rube Goldberg machine, or a machine that is overly engineered to do a quite simple task. The task is to push the car off to advertise it, which of course could have been done much more easily, although, "Isn't it nice, when things just work?," For that to be appropriate here, they would need something overly complicated, but something that still works. Whatever floats the boat, I suppose.
