- Vintage guitar review: Kay KJP 2-1 (1969-70) by Gavin Lazarus:
"This particular guitar was more commonly made in an SG shape, rather than Les Paul. The pickups are so live, you could almost sing into them, and use them as a mic! So that's unusual. But it does give it a rough and ready quality for swampy rock."

I had one of these as my very first electric guitar. I bought it for £38 in 1981. I was 13.
My first electric too, but I paid £50 for it in 1982. I must have been ripped off!
@@richardlewis5058 I definitely remember it being £38. My dad promised me two £20 notes if I got a good school report that year. I knew it was just enough to buy a really cheap electric guitar (I had been using an acoustic with a mic stuck to the body). You were indeed, ripped off!
Thank you for this video! As with the other commenter, I have one of these but it’s not in very good condition. The insides of one of the pickups is completely missing. Does anyone have some pickup advice for this guitar?
made in taiwan,or the 1 i've got, found it at a farmers auction for £8 and its not in a good a condition as yours,so going sort the finish out and replace the crappy cheap plastic neck bridge which has worn through and cracked/snapped.Sounds unique with a boss DS1...lol
Hey bud, u
Youre very knowledgeable in guitars.
...have u ever been in a band?
Yes, I am gigging every week. I play in a few bands and do a lot of solo stuff. I also write and record my own music. Released an album last year and just finished the follow up due to land later this year.
