Mick Mars is Motley Crue..Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Vince Neil were lucky to have had such a talented and cool guitarist as Mick .
TRUTH!!!
pretty sure Nikki wrote the songs
He got them to where they are, he is amazing! Still love em, he is just those musician that you look up 2 and he is humble.
🙌
@@danacoleman4007😂...you can believe what you want to...trust this...Mick wrote the music..He had the name..He created the tone
Sound of the band..Sixx had drive and vision...it came together as a great band..
We all get old and we all die of something. This man has lived 1000 lives in one. Cheers Mick, we love ya brother.
Damn straight!
The average person cannot imagine the utter physical suffering that patients with ankylosing spondylitis endure over decades as well as the insidious remodeling, fusing, and permanent deforming of the spine. Mick deserves all the credit in the world for his musical footprint, we all should know that. But I give him more credit for his ability to carry on and even thrive in spite of the AS.
well said Guy! kylie x
It can be absolute hell. I was diagnosed with it last year at the age of 50. It isn't uncommon for it to go undiagnosed for a long time. I have two forms of it, axial and peripheral, one affects mainly the spine, the other spreads out into the knees, hands and feet. It is a daily battle with pain and chronic fatigue, you start to feel like a burden on people sometimes. I still play guitar, although it is more of a challenge, barre chords are replaced by mostly triads, which was actually interesting to learn, you have to adapt to it in any way that you can.
Mick Mars WAS MOTLEY! Without his guitar work it wouldn’t have happened, and he did it while suffering from AS, god bless ya mick we love ya!
I have AS and Mick is my yardstick to measure what is possible. He's an inspiration.
thats lovely to hear that he is an inspiration to you... I saw how much pain he is in and how its taken over his body to my thoughts go out to you...xKylie x
Hearing Mick talk about his AS was heart wrenching. It’s such an evil disease. When he speaks of how his band mates didn’t understand what he was going through, he summed up the isolation of the suffering this disease places on a person. Unless you have it (or any disease for that matter), you cannot truly understand what a person is going through and tasks that seem simple to anyone else can be traumatic for a sufferer. All power to Mick for what he has achieved through adversity.
I love how Mick becomes himself when they start talking about his guitars
Man-Mick-if you read this-man I am so sorry you’re had to deal with this horrible horrible disease; I’ve gotta say I have huge respect for the power you have to conquer a career, family, pain, more pain-the falling, the getting back up, making appointments, appearing in front of the world in a body that feels like a 40 lb cinder block hanging from a strap around your head. It’s incredible what you’ve overcome. Let’s just leave the success in an industry alone. Achieving that success is almost impossible; but try doing it with constant pain, I’m gobsmacked. I thought I had achieved things with my body problems. I have but to see an insight into what it’s like for you. Dude: my hat is off to you. I’m not a Motley “fan” guy-(don’t get me wrong-I like the guitar tone and playing) (they’re not in my “favorites “ on Apple Music) I’m fan of people who in the face of enormous adversity have the heart of a lion and push past that to have a life of accomplishment-what ever that is to them. You are that man-one of the few I’ve known of.
Well stated. Agreed
Thanks for the great work Mick, and Kylie for giving us a chance to spend time with a cool gentle soul
thank you Tom.... so pleased you liked it and you are right, he is a gentle soul that people need to see more of as he isn't anything like how you think he is going to be.
Absolute legend! Not only is he one of the greatest players to ever walk the face of the earth, but what he has accomplished while fighting that horrible disease is absolutely phenomenal! Fantastic video, thank you so much for posting!
Along with my uncle, Mick is the reason I've spent my life learning guitar. What an incredible human being Mr. Mars is.
Mick, if you read this…..you’re the best! Love ya!
Hi, its me, Mick - thanks so much for you comment bro.
@@mikekatz7980 if it really is you... right behind Ace Frehley, Angus Young, Eddy Van Halen is you... MicK! play guitar because of you 4! PS.. my sister briefly dated Tommy... what a douche .. you carried that fucking band 110%
I consider he as the next gen of heavy metal guitarist after Tony Iommi. Tony created the heavy riffs, and Mick took it to another level.
What a super nice guy. It’s obvious that it’s very difficult for him. He has to bend his knees and lean back just to look her in the eyes, but he’s polite and pleasant anyway. Mick was the sound of the Crue.
I've never been a Motley fan. They came out when I was in high school. As a guitar player too even back then I was impressed with his guitar tone/sound. That guitar sound really did create an identity for Motley Crue. BTW, Mick really did name the band. I only have respect for one member of that band. Mick. He was and is badass. 🤘
Mick was a huge inspiration to pick up the guitar so happy you interviewed him!
Kylie made this interview work.. Such positive beautiful vibes allowed Mick to actually open up and discuss several issues besides only the guitar.. He looks super frail now, maybe that fresh Tennessee air, life will help his journey..
He was sneakily checking out your beauty and probably thought, man if this was back in the day I'd give it go look too 😅
Thanks again
thank you Chris! He is such a lovely guy and is in so much pain so pleased that you noticed I tried to show a side of Mick that we don't usually see. Kylie x
He seems struck by her beauty, bit nervous, but doing a damn good job staying a gentleman ... he can be her grand father
Watch the episode with nuno benttencourt, he's so flirting with her
Mick, thank you for allowing us peons to see you perform. I saw you in Edmonton, Alberta for the Stadium Tour. It was a great concert. Take care & God Bless!
Mick looks like he could be Alice Cooper's older brother. Bless his heart.
Saw your video on TH-cam and may God Richly Bless you and may Jesus Christ show you His GREAT love that He has for each of YOU ❤️ Just ask Him to show you personally His Love as He did to me years ago 😊
Incredible. ABSOLUTELY . We are watching an interview with living rock and roll history . This is really good stuff. Thanks very much .
Thank you! And I totally agree, he is Mr rock'n'roll for sure. Kylie x
I love the Mars man. sound of my childhood.
LEGEND...end of story!
i agree! Kylie
I'm sure I'm going out on a limb and going to catch heck for it, but as a guitar player (that yes, learned Eddie, speed picking, 2 handed & 8 finger tapping, sweep picking, & whammy bar tricks) I'm going to comment from this angle. BUT FIRST...in watching a few vids of Mick, what I've learned (which I'll share at the end) is SO much more deep and revealing of him. So...
Mick as a guitar player (I was developing my skill set at the time) was, simply put, nothing to write home about at the time. Yes, he had his moments, but those were...moments. He never seemed to cause that "damn, I need to hear that again!" or "WOW!!!"--not for (serious) guitar players. But in reflecting on those times, Mick FIT! The Cruë was never known as being top grade musicians, but they had the "IT" factor. And Mick fit them like a hand-in-glove. For the Cruë, he was their "secret sauce." He was a type of impressive that I'll never touch (e.g., money made, cars owned, nice home [and studio] owned, likely got plenty more girls than I, and the spendy guitar collection....) But, again, he was not a guitarist one would rant and rave about.
Now, as I stated earlier, in this interview Mick seems very humble and matter-of-fact. It's almost like a professional race car driver that's spent 20 years speeding, screeching, swerving around a track; now those are like, "Meh, been there done that; now what?" I enjoyed this video and getting to "see" Mick (to a degree) aside from Mötley Crüe Mick.
Mick Màrs is very creative. Lots of good music. God bless him. And yourself young lady ❤️🙏🇺🇲💯🎸🎸. And Yes he was the glue that kept Motley together 💯
He really was I totally agree... thank you for watching. kylie x
Such an inspiration this man. Just wow....
Great video - I see Motley Crue in a whole new way after watching this.
Thank you... kylie x
I really enjoyed this video interview. You were so professional, gave him time to speak and answer, but more importantly, you were like a friend, allowing him to share a bit of his story, including his pain. Yes, like everyone has stated, and I agree wholeheartedly, what an incredible musician, incredibly unique artist, and all with a kind humlity rarely seen from someone of his caliber and success. To top it off, he is showing what this terrible disease can do, but more importantly, he is showing how his spirit is tougher than this disease and how he fights it. He fights it, and he wins! He wins because he does not let it rule his life as he shoots for his dreams. I am pretty certain it is a lot of mundane work, constant practice, many bouts of despair, and just constant walls, going after those dreams. No, that wasn't going to stop him, Mick is a warrior and warrior's fight. I'm sure he hopes someone in despair and not fighting may see this and start fighting for their dreams and goals, just like he did.
Mick has given us great entertaintment we may enjoy any and all the time, but what Mick is giving to that one person out there ready to hang it up, is more than I or most of us can imagine, he is the living embodiment of humility, hard work, perseverance, and not letting the fight fade away. I bet there are many that he has helped just by this interview and his candor.
Thanks for your candor, Mick, and thank you, Kylie, for your incredible interview and kindness. It shined through.
In my early 40’s and is one of my favorite guitarists of all time. There is no Crue without Mick.🤘🎸🤘
Cool guy. I remember being sooooo gutted when MC cancelled their tour in the 80s. We were in Edinburgh and Nikki Sixx had had some kind of overdose. Saw them a year later and loved Tommy’s revolving drum kit at the Playhouse. Loved Sixx and his Thunderbird. Loved Tommy and his leather Speedos. Only years later I realise Bob was the absolute killer, main-man, of the band.
Really surprised how small and humble he is…seems a really nice guy.
Mick Mars is an Amazing guitarist and so underrated in my opinion!!🤘🔥🤘🎸🎵🎶
Underated... he created the Motley crue sound and was handsomely rewarded, he through the fame just stayed a nice guy...press had nothing to say about him!
mick is genuine, the real deal! super kind, and all class.
Glad he won his case against the other members of the Band. They tried to cut him out ! A founding member, and the only great part of the band. He was different and really unique, rocked with a Warlock Guitar and makes the rest ot the band seem......rudimentary :) Thanks for this !!!
Great video and interview Mick seems like such a great person.
Thank you and he is just adorable - not a word I ever thought I would use for him. It was such an interesting experience to get to know him a little better
Mick is National Treasure and his riffs and playing are Legend.
What a great interview, thank you Kylie for showing everyone another side of a true rock legend!
thank you so much and really pleased you enjoyed our little hang and got to see this side of him and he is such a lovely guy.
Incredibly happy to watch this. MM is doing quite well. Those F'n Strat's. I always said MM did his own MOD's same as EVH, but his own way and I feel comfortable supporting that statement. I am only 11:30 into the vid.
Great LISS episode again.. Interesting stories.. lot of guitars.. And: "Hendrix's wall" of Marshalls.. Thank You Kylie!! ❤️🤗.. Thank You Mick!! 🤘🎸👍
Thank you Markku... this is one of my fav interviews
He seems so incredibly sweet. Poor giy dealing with AS!! I have severe spine issues so I feel for him.
Very cool guy.........I saw MC twice, once in the late 80's and again in the early 90's and Mick just rocked the show!
no one is ever gonna argue that fact that this gal REALLY knows guitars...
great interview Kylie. Everyone should watch 3:22 over and over
Great to see Mick out and about.
Another video on one of my favorite guitarists! Thanks Kylie!
Thank you! kylie xxx
He is the heart of MC..always will be
this was excellent -thanks Kylie & Mick!
The best part of Motley was and always will be the sound of MICK’s GUITAR 😊
FN HUGE 🤘
Love the CD 💿 Mick
Your legacy is locked in😊
Fantastic! Thank you very much! ❤
Wow. I didn't know he had that condition, and it's inspiring that he hasn't let that stop him. Thankfully he can still play the guitar! And write good songs too.
Thanks for posting Kylie 🎸🇺🇸
Thanks for watching... pleased you enjoyed, kylie x
All the best to Mick! He’s a warrior. 🎸 Great episode.

ah thank you... pleased you enjoyed the interview as he is one of the best i agree. x
Another great interview. He seemed quite reticent initially, but really began to open up, particularly about the horrible disease he is saddled with. Well researched with questions that teased out interesting responses from a legendary musician. Keep them coming!

This is brilliant. All of it. Thank you Mick & Kylie.

Franklin is South of Nashville, just a minor detail.
Hi Kylie, amazing episode!!!! Mick is absolutely amazing he carried Motley Crue! And you are very pretty 😍😘
😂my parents gave a Pluto or Goofy guitar hard wired to a matching plastic amp from Sears. That's the 1st one I learned to tune.👍🎸🐬
ha ha ... brilliant
Love that guy ❤
Mick is sooo cool and talented! Love this interview!
Thank you K! And I totally agree about his talent. kylie x
Absolute Gem of a Gentleman.
And a true MUSIC LOVER,And still Thriving to write, play and pursue TONE And STILL 100 % pulling it off.
It almost seems he is too down to earth, unselfish and Real to be in Motley.
GODBLESS you SIR.
CHEERS,
ZACK
We love you Mick.
Great man!
Great interview. 👍 So impressive that he showed up when they tried to get band back together while the others where whining and complaining. Solid dude. 👍
Franklin is actually south of Nashville
Mick I'm sorry you have that I had a friend god bless his soul and heal that man and me too with my broken back keep playing
very cool and Mick guitar was and is the whole crue sound
I've done sound for 1000's of acts, there are the crazies and i find most of them are really humble akward normal human beings..... god speed Mick
Great interview Kylie 😊
Mick is the man!
he sure is
I like your style of interviews too. You listen!
What a cool and seemingly decent guy! I always thought his talent was much greater than the credit he got for it. And as for his recent album, 'The Other Side Of Mars': Well, when i first heard that, it just blew my mind! Far better than anything with Motley Crue printed on it. And i like the Crue, really i do, but i'm just being honest. Amazing album! You're the man, Mick. You rock!
🤟🏻😎🎸
a perfect living room, Marshall stacks as far as the eye can see!
Saw Motley open for Ozzy. Still the best concert ever 😉
Best Channel on TH-cam! Thanks Kylie
cool episode, you did a good job, Kylie
I got to the part when he mentioned the AS & i cried. When he talked about the chain & 40 cinder, it hurt me because i know that feeling! It is so awful😢😢😢😢😢😢
Immortal riff maker!!!!
Mick rules!
Forget about his back. This Guy....was a Beast Guitarist!! 😊
He is metal and feelings.. Guitar God actually, .❤❤❤
Mick Mars ,still the Man !💜 Purple people eater!💜🐼
Great interview!
Thank you. Kylie x
I would love to meet him one day.
i hope you do as you won't be disappointed.
He's such a nice guy! Very humble and so genuine. The other three don't give me the same impression... Well, maybe a little from Vince.
How come Kylie just keeps getting hotter?
And thank you ☺️
Love how battle-worn his guitars look
me too - thats how they should be
@@KylieOlsson AMEN!
