Great video as always, Danny! I actually think that there's definite ground fall potential from the crux on this one, given that it's pretty low down and protected by a somewhat blind placement. And all those leaves! Yikes! It was a definite red point for me. Also psyched to see the trail work on this area. It always suffered from extreme erosion.
Oh wow - my first outdoor climbs were at Big Rock when attending Clemson in 2018 - crazy to see how much the CCC has been maintaining that area! Glad I joined the CCC a few weeks ago despite living out in CO!
Man I want to learn how to Lead Rope Solo, I spend so many of my days looking for climbing partners, and then end up going and soloing something 5.easy!
Check out my how I rope solo video. Only difference now is I ditched the chest harness and put the gri gri on inverted. It will feel cumbersome at first but you learn to expect when to add slack and what may cause issues with enough practice. The biggest issue I faced was gaining trust in the system.

I suspected ground fall potential before starting the route so I was ready to commit to the crux move without gear.

Big rock is my new favorite spot. Especially with all the work the ccc is doing.
That trail work is quite new. I was up there two weeks ago and I don’t remember it looking that nice.
