Nice job you set the centers longer and the outers shallower and had no chunks off spot ore alewives? Why not?

MDHenry4 I set the centers at 200ft and 170ft ish with no weight, then the sides with either no weight or less weight and shorter usually one with no weight at 120-150ft and the other at 90-110ft ish. Then if I set out more rods i go heavier weight and shorter length the closer toward the bow. This allows me to turn without getting tangled. And if one rod hits more often I switch to put my baits closer to that depth. Usually I run eight rods. Just harder to do alone. Also I have never really tried chunk baits while trolling. I use tsunami shads and they have been really successful

Pocket Doc that is a great setup what speed are you trolling? 200feet must be in the shipping channel. Bay ridge has been hot this year on the East side on the ridge south of the bridge... nice work!

200ft back with no weight at 2-3 mph puts the umbrella rig at about 20-30 ft deep

Hey can you tell me your set up? I troll and don't catch anything. I need a little help.

Daniel T I use tsunami green shad with umbrella rigs and billy bars, I get them from Marty's in Edgewater MD. I run eight rods usually, with the back two with no weight and my biggest umbrella rigs, one 230-200 ft and the other 190-170 ft (ish), I like to keep em separated with enough space so they don't get tangled. Then the two corners I run billy bars one with no weight about 120-100 ft back and one with 4 Oz inline weight 90 feet back. Then working up toward the bow the two rods you see in the video closest to the side of the screen I run 6 and 8 Oz weights on 70-90 feet back with 4 arm umbrella rigs ( I switch the rigs up from time to time but the weight stays the same). Then on my out riggers I run 10 and 12 Oz weight with umbrellas 60-80 feet back. Hope that helps. I limited out yesterday in two hours just north of Thomas point had every rod go down at once it was insane!
