The Best TOPWATER Bite In YEARS! Chesapeake Bay Striped Bass Fishing!

My home waters of the Chesapeake Bay offer some of the best fishing on the East Coast. One of my favorite fish to target are striped bass and this time of year they are cruising the shallows searching for baitfish. The early mornings offer a great opportunity for topwater fishing and on this trip we found an incredible bite. Heddon Spooks were the ticket for aggressive eats on the surface. Finally got out this evening for the first time this year. Same thing, best top water ive seen a long time but mine were a little smaller 16"-22". Was almost every cast. Chester River area. Eastern Shore.

The blue catfish bite around there is better in the spring (March through May). Im sure you could catch some now, but they may be harder to find.
