I wonder if anyone has actually played a phony that was just nonsensical in every way and not an accidental mistake like JEWELsS. At least things like CLIFTWAY are phonetically sound, but I once saw someone who obviously was upset about their rack play (A)QIIIIAA.
I wonder if there's any actual tournament examples of things like that staying on the board. Probably only things like that one player who opened with BNJy\* and accidentally gave back ABOITEAU...
@@meta04 Not sure, it would be unlikely enough to play an outright nonsensical phony like that and even more unlikely that it stays on the board because it gives back a bingo. Jackson Smylie did play OUTWIN* which Josh Sokol immediately knew wasn't good but it gave back (T)APADERA for Josh so he let it go.
What sort of ethical example for young persons considering Scrabble are these folks sending? Deception and outright perfidy, outright perfidy! Reject poltroonery!

LOITERER is the only thing that even remotely resembles LOURERER*, even then the 2 words don’t look alike at all
DISECTED* might have been spelled with only one S because it was confused with BISECTED which only has one S.
Or because he didn't have a second S, seeing as his rack only had seven tiles.
