You mentioned that the daughter of the Prophet was married to Abu al-As, but he wasn’t a Muslim until after the Battle of Badr, even though they had been married before then since the marriage rulings had not yet come down. However, earlier in the seerah, if I remember correctly, you talked about one of the four Hanafs-individuals who were not involved in Arab idolatry-who converted to Islam later on. When he and his wife migrated to Abyssinia, he changed his religion to Christianity, leading to his wife having to leave him, as that was not allowed. I'm a bit confused about the timing of these events, so I'd appreciate any clarification you can provide.

The ruling that made it impermissible for Muslims to marry pagans came several years later, so the marriage of Zainab and Abu Al-'As was not an issue at this point.
One of the future wives of Prophet Muhammad, Ummi Habiba, was of the early converts who migrated to Abyssinia with her husband. He converted to Christianity and died soon in Abyssinia, making her a widow. There is no indication of a divorce between them. Allah knows best.
