Exciting news for all my fellow travellers and foodies! 🎉 I've just launched Shun Tours, offering unique and personal guided tours across Tokyo. Check out the details and book your adventure at www.shuntours.com. Can't wait to explore with you! ✈🍣
Please do more videos on food souvenirs. These are so helpful on what I should buy on my trip and I trust your palate way more than a non local doing a tasting video. I spent way too much on high-end kitkats (good but too sweet) on my last trip and the traditional japanese food souvenirs where a lot more memorable. Will add these to my shopping list for next time.
Goooood morning/day/evening wherever you are! Thank you so much for watching this video ☺️ The important question today is… which of the 10 souvenirs would you like to try?!?!
My Tokyo Banana boxes survived my trip home. I had them years ago but I still had to buy them again. Because of the expiration date, I only bought two 8-count boxes. They’re pretty good and the banana custard has a very natural flavor and not overly sweet. I ate them all in two days, haha.
Heading back to Japan in Feb and I'm super excited to try Tokyo Banana, the Castella Cake and the Truffle. Thank you for reviewing these. It was really overwhelming going through these shops with so many selections and having a list helps! Last year I bought the Tokyo Banana Kit Kat ones and they were delicious too. ☺️
I don't usually buy snacks or souvenirs when I travel, but after watching this video, I want to try them ALL!!! I'd say the black sesame egg would be at the top of my list, because I love black sesame. Oishisou!!
Love this video idea on reviewing food souvenirs and hearing your commentary on each one. I think I'd buy the castella and the cheese cookie to bring back! Btw my guess is the "wich" is the same as the "wich" in "sandwich" so you had a berry sandwich and a caramel sandwich. 😀
I bought so many snack items from the Tokyo airport! What I love is how fresh everything is. In Canada expiry dates are a whole year later for snack products sometimes more. Ill be back Japan!
I’m in Tokyo for another day souvenir shopping and this is exactly what I was looking for!!! I’d much rather take home a bunch of delicious snacks than little trinkets for my loved ones, so thank you sooo much for this!
In Japan everything is packaged so beautifully..they r so good in marketing n making things so appealing-but sometimes u buy a nice size box n open it to find maybe 8 items in it..but then everything is so tasty n fresh!!
Hiya! Good to see you! I would like to try them all as I really, really like snacks. The honey and gorganzola looks outstanding. Until next video, be well and enjoy!
This video is so help. I can't wait to try some of these snacks. The Gift Kiosk store in Tokyo Station is closed. Where can I go to buy these snacks? Any suggestions? Thanks.
Those are some beautiful souvenirs from Tokyo. Also the Japanese Kitkats are very delicious. Sarah you always do such a wonderful review on all the items yiu have in your videos.
Hi Sarah. Your newest subscriber from Singapore. Really enjoyed your reviews of the souvenirs. Good camera work and great content. Thank you very much.
The culture of the travel gift for colleagues is an interesting custom. In Europe we don't necessarily do it after a trip, we usually bring something to eat for birthdays or special occasions. I usually bring around 150 croissants to share with the people on the open office floor... These treats look delicious, but now I'll have to try the Tokyo banana with Doraemon flavor :D
The BTB Sable was so good that I decided to use a proxy service to buy and ship another box of 9 pieces after coming back from my trip. I'd also recommend the Bon Napoleon from Almond (sorry Tokyo Foodie Mama) and Tako Patie from Osaka Takoyaki Sweets. There's just so many souvenir snacks and not enough suitcase space!
Heyyy 😄😁 I swear, your videos are getting rarer than Mini Tokyo Cacao KitKats 😂 A pretty delectable selection of Omiyage snacks, but sentimental old me says I'm a sucker for Tokyo Banana 🥹🍌 However, I'd be remiss if I didn't give BTB Sable major points as well. So sublime 🤤 Anyway, I'll stop here before I get too homesick lol Take care 😁
May i suggest trying another 10 for variety and choice for us viewers, coz i know there are a lot and all are in Japanese, people get confused on what to try next. I, for one, am a chocolate lover, would love to try anything that's chocolate. I remember going to one souvenir shop in Akihabara years ago and didn't buy anything, coz i didn't know what they were, what they taste like and they are not cheap either. Thanks.
I quite like “Omiyage” culture in Japan. It fosters some nice interactions with your co-workers and can show off where you visited. I assume it’s usually an edible snack? Have you received or given other types of souvenirs?
Yesss you can definitely show off where you visited! It’s a great way to start a conversation as well! It’s usually edible snack, but I give the girls other souvenirs (e.g. face masks, soaps, etc.).
Is Tokyo station the only place to buy Tokyo Banana souvenirs? My mom asked me to buy some and when I checked the main website, it didn’t provide much info on where to get them. I’ll be arriving to Japan this weekend for a couple weeks. If you’re interested in hanging out or doing a collab, let me know Sarah. 😊
@15:13 It's just taking the second half of the English word sandwhich...which in that context means nothing by itself....think of it as ekiben, they took Ben from bento and another word, same with which, they took the back half of sandwich and added the item it was made with in front
I bought that BTB sable from Tokyo! It's not working for me 😅 I like truffle I like sable, but somehow this combo doesn't taste nice to me at all. When you have a salty and sweet combo, it's always more salty or more sweet. But this sable is equally salty and sweet! I just cannot accept it 😂
KONNICHIWA Sugoi! How does a Salary Woman find time to post videos!? My cousin Tatchan works as a Salaryman for Rakuten..and when we visit, he's never around! lol It's like 50, 60 hour work weeks. His dad, Miki-sama, Also worked as a Salaryman and he had to get an aparto in Tokyo while living in Saitima... My wife and I we were driving through Tokyo about 8 pm on a Tuesday, from Fuji to Tsukubamira, and I was stunned how many people we would could still see, from our car on the highway, hard at work in the offices. Signs on the Highway said "please drive quietly don't honk". Anyway, ga ba n ta ne! Find a good life balance, don't get burnt out like Miki-sama, ne?

Sugar Butter Sand Tree would be for me🙂
The Honey Gorgonzola cookie was the most interesting item for me. Helps that it has a long shelf life compared to the other snacks
I would try the egg
You did Tokyo Banana dirty! But I would also try the gorgonzola honey and caramel cookies. Also adore your omiyage reinactment!
Omg, i want it all !!

And thank you! It must be short for sandwich 🥪
Going to Japan next month (Sept. 2024) and looking forward to trying these treats myself and bringing some home! Thank you!
I bought so many snack items from the Tokyo airport! What I love is how fresh everything is. In Canada expiry dates are a whole year later for snack products sometimes more. Ill be back Japan!
Thanks for sharing. They are so helpful… my family is travelling to Japan this Nov/Dec… will buy some of the snacks & eat them while in Tokyo. 😊😊
Glad the video helped!
📣Can I get these souvenirs in places other than Tokyo Station?
Its actually fun to hear your side stories. Tell us more!

Parabéns por este vídeo, achei muito interessante estes doces como souveniers e também gostei da sua explicação sobre o que contém cada doce!
Love to get some food souvenirs. So curious about what their food looks and tastes like. I am from Colorado USA 🇺🇸 👋😃👋
Butter butler was amazing. Got it at the airport before leaving. I will get sooo many more before I leave on my next visit.

Ooohh! The B.T.B. Sablé sounds good and the fact that you loved it, that will have be #1 on my list... or maybe the castella. 🤣
Both super good 🤤

Thoroughly enjoyed your vid, can’t wait to visit Japan this November…omg the snacks😜

Royce Chocolate Champagne flavour ! Or any sakura flavour chocolate they sell in spring !

Hahaha great 😂 Thanks for the comment as always!
I think the tree from Sugar Butter Sand Tree is Skytree. Also want to note that there is a gluten free version of Tokyo Banana made with rice flour.
First time watching ur channel…. Can I find these yummy snacks anywhere else besides Tokyo station?? I’ll be in Yokohama late September!!
LOL at the omiage gifting at the office 😂 I love it
Because Japanese Omiyage packaging - is a gift in itself.

Thanks for the comment! I’m also a chocolate lover 🤤 I’ll try to make more videos on souvenirs!
You can expand ur selection to include supermarket/7-11 snacks that are all written in Japanese. That would be in another vlog. 😊
I guess wich is the new shortcut for sandwich since sand has been used so many times :D
Great review. 🎉 thanks

Curious if these snacks would be sold in Osaka as well
Hokkaido butter from Hokkaido Foodist there in Tokyo station

Where or which supermarket di u go
Where in tokyo you bought this snack?
At a store called Gift Kiosk in Tokyo station! However you can get these in a lot of other stations in Tokyo.
Nice video. My nephew is in Tokyo for vacay now. The 🤨🤨🤨 know.
The 🤨🤨🤨 hahaha 😂

What you do if you have 50 coworkers? You need to buy like 10 of these boxes to feed them all.
