    Hopefully Coleman sells this as an upgrade kit or they do a full on running change to all future 200u's and start selling them with the suspension forks.

    Thank you ! No more jarring my teeth out over rough terrain ! I ordered all the necessary parts from Coleman's website and they shipped them a DAY LATER ! ! Sweeet ! Cant wait to do the upgrade ! Thanks for all the info. A hard tail I can take, but no front suspension makes for a VERY rough ride !

    I have the Coleman camo bike. Gasoline sloshes out around the fuel cap. There are videos about the same problem with other Coleman mini bikes.

    Looks great. You should make your own handle bars for it. 1/2 inch black pipe at the hardware store is the same outside diameter as 7/8 handle bars, and you can use a standard pipe bender to make.

    Hey Redbeard!:
    Success! I ordered the front shocks and tripple tees to convert the CT 200 U to front shock forks. I didn't order everything. Just the main Coleman parts. The rest of the stuff I think I can get locally.
    I first made the order direct with Coleman back at the end of May. It has now been three months and two weeks. The parts came today. I'll keep you up to date as I get the scooter fitted out.

I am betting these are going to be popular with people who build there own mini bike frames. Cant wait to put suspension on my CT200U.

    I know this video is 5 years old but I feel like I have to make this comment anyway. I took one of those CT200u to Colorado on an elk hunt (the area we where hunting had some ATV trails and we didnt have an ATV to use so we bought this mini bike for $500 and used it). One person rode the bike (Me) and packed muled most of our gear 3 miles up a very rough ATV trail back and forth (so 6 miles round trip). We made 4.25 round trips with this mini bike and it did it amazingly well. The only reason it did .25 of one of the trips is because one of the other people riding it tried to ride it up this one very steep rocky section that I would get off the bike and walk it through. Well the torque converter I installed on it didn't like being held wide open and not the wheels not actually spinning so the belt burned up. If he would have walked the bike through that one little section I have no doubt it would have made 5 or 6 (6 mile) round trips no problem. These things are surprisingly powerful. Do yourself a favor and get rid of the centrifugal clutch and put a torque converter on it. It makes it have more low end torque and also higher top end speed. Mine goes 40/45 mph

    • @Gk22632
      @Gk22632 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not only is it super capable, it hardly takes up any space in a truck bed, all you need is some basic tools, maybe a torque gun just Incase and you can go pretty much anywhere

    HI! Redbeard: My CT200 U now has front shocks. I had to drill two holes in the upper triple tree in order to mount the front rack. The mounting bosses in the lower triple tree for the front fender bracket were side by side instead of one behind the other. So I hammered out a new fender bracket with the proper holes. I installed a bigger cushy seat from Monster. I didn't like the muffler under the seat and so added a custom header, along with a couple of pieces of pipe to run a different muffler out the back. Like you mentioned in the video, I might like the handlebars just a bit higher. I am also thinking of adding some clamp-on folding foot pegs, a little further back on the frame so it will make it easier to stand up when climbing over rough terrain or climbing hills.
    I have an original Tote Gote with the same engine and torque converter as the Coleman. The
    Coleman with the front shocks does ride smoother than the Tote Gote. I'm figuring the Coleman may be around 100 pounds lighter, and a bit faster than the Tote Gote. But I'm not looking for more speed.
    I do thank you for the inspiration.

  • @DeepSouth13
    @DeepSouth13 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I would look at putting some Rox Risers ( no idea if they would have anything that would fit, but I've used them on a bunch of different bikes) on that beast instead of trying to find some higher handlebars .. paint everything and put it back together, would look mint.. super stoked it worked out, can't wait for coleman to start releasing the parts for it..

    Hey Red. I've got a camo bike. Put an exhaust pipe and muffler and series 30 torque converter. Tops out at 34 mph with no other mods. Moved govener spring out to last hole. I weigh 170lbs. . not bad. Trail ride it here in NH. Rocks roots water you name it. Put a good 25 miles of rough terrain on it.

If you know of any sites even a used one as I’ll paint and clean it’ll as needed. Thanks in advance.

    Has coleman our this package together? I called them a few months ago and they said you could not do it. Kind of frustrating as I love this minibike and would really benefit from a front suspension. If not could you share what all was ordered to make this work?

    Can u make or just buy handlebar risers? I see many add the to dirtbike or atvs. Just cosider that a cheap easy fix to low bars. It lokks nice with that aetup.
