- In todays video we upgrade the stock Coleman mini bike forks to make them 2x the stiffness. We added a 1in spacer and SAE 30w oil.

Rule of thumb remove fork spring fully compress fork Add oil to approximately 110 mm from the top that should give you the volume of oil😉

Definitely need to do this on my newly picked up ct200uex. Got it for a killer deal with a stage 1 predator but def needs a little tlc. The exhaust on this bike sounds great!

The spring controls compression and rebound. The oil viscosity, and valving, controls how fast it moves.
If I had all of those tools, I would bend up my own custom design mini bike frame with proper suspension and sized for a big man and a big block. Like a trail master but at 110% upscale.
Thank you RB for doing a fork tuning video. I have been wanting to do this to my MB200 for awhile now seeing as I'm a heavier rider like yourself. I assume the MB200 forks are the same or a similar process, I just want a professional opinion. Can you confirm this? Also wanted to address your tire situation. I had the same experience with those tires being a square shape and not wanting to corner I recommend the Duro Red Eagle it's what I have on mine now and they are fantastic. I started out not knowing anything about mini's or small engines and now have modded my whole bike using your videos. Keep putting out great stuff you are appreciated more than you know. Thank you!
Just got a wild deal on a coleman ct200-style frame (not sure on the actual brand) with a billet internal Honda GX390. Lots of nuts and bolts to tighten up and clean, but for $500 I couldn’t be more excited to get into the minibike world lol

If you raise the oil level it stiffens the forks as well due to having less air in them.
And if you have to much oil and you compress the forks to much you blow you seals😁

only thing i did on my set up was pop off hex cap. cut a short piece of pex pipe to stiffen the spring. it worked

Was thinking about doing this on my MB200-2. Forks are pretty soft compared to upgraded rear shocks.

I have been using Klotz fork oil since the 70’s. That’s what you want.
thats weird because i have the front suspension add on kit for my ct200u and the shocks are really stiff, like i kinda wanna soften them up a bit
but the forks on my mb200 are really soft so i think i might try this on that
You normally can measure spring od, wire diameter, and length to come up with a spring from another bike using used springs from ebay for example
Leave the forks on if you have to put longer spacers in. Just take the top Plug out.
We sell funnels that’s you can measure your fluid with at the Autozone I work at brother! Hopefully that may help ya sometime in the future it also has a shut off valve at the bottom so you can measure what ya need then open her up and put it out also has a screen and a cap on it.

Tighten rear spring to make it less springy
The oil weight controls how fast or slow it rebounds. Along with the spring.
I need to shim the GPS forks on my thunderbird, they compress almost two inches when I sit. The swing arm I added only about a half inch if that, super scary when your two or three feet in the air and the back is higher than the front.

i have a question. remember the tao tao arrow would a 250cc motor from like an rps hawk with a reverse box work out or should you just get a 420cc predator with a cvt
You’d be better off with a zs190 since they sit horizontal and make more power

Hey man
I order the front fork suspension in gopowersport for my ct200u
Come to find out I can’t use original front wheel on the suspension. They only have 145/70x6 tire and it LOOK TOO TINY COMPARE to the rear wheel and tire. Do you guys know where I could find a front wheel that fit nice on the gopowersport suspension?
Easiest way to do this it remove the handlebars an leave the fork tubes in the tripletrees. Less likely to crossthread

The spring mfg send a piece of plastic pipe for the preload adj. Saying you want to be softer material than spring. Basically the opposite of hardened steel wrist pin

Maybe add air Schraders to caps give you a quick way to adjust for rider weight. Rear looks like it could use some tweeking . Great show love the banter between two of you .
Your videos are great except for the changes being made during tuning its very hard to tell the difference..or maybe lonnie isnt hoonin as hard as he can..a gps for comparison would be great
