I wish there was a way to have a solid cleaning schedule for moms who work 40-45 hours outside of the home. It’s so stressful to not be home knowing the house isn’t getting picked up and then coming home late evening to have to speed clean just to cook dinner and pick up after young kids and a grown man. I spend my only two off days cleaning like the queen of England is coming to visit. Then I feel like I haven’t rested for the next day of work to come around again. And my hours are not set, different days off each week and different hours each days of the week every week. I’m such a homebody too so it sucks big time to be stuck at work for what seems like forever. All I can think about while I’m at work is being home 😩
When my son was a baby, I worked full time outside the house. My husband was in bed by the time I got home in the evening because he got up at midnight for work. I would do one chore each night after putting the baby to bed. Kept things on a decent rotation.to.keep things from falling apart and the majority of the weekend free.
Are you a single mom? How old are your kids? The whole family should be helping with keeping the house clean! Yes,even your husband! They all live there; so even small kids can clean up and should be encouraged to do so. Get lower bins so they can put toys away before mom get off work. Then they can "show you" their clean work! Teach them good habits now for a stress free household later on. Believe me,you will thank me later when they are teens. Be very consistent and praise the things everyone does. It might not be as you would do it,but it's good enough. 💜from TX!🤠
My boys are 6, and I’m not technically married but might as well be. The kids do pick up but they have to be reminded and there’s things they can’t do themselves. All they can really do is keep their rooms and toys straight. They are good about cleaning up after themselves but they do love to make messes. Their father really doesn’t care about the house being cleaned so carpet cleaning, litter box cleaning, laundry and dishes are all on me. It just doesn’t feel like it gets better sometimes.
@amandagail2487 teach that man to help or that's on you. Sorry, but a family works together like a team.
@amandagail2487 but, the boys do help. Try keep them doing that or you'll end up with boys like their father! Just keep reminding them. He should be setting an example. Remember, you allowed this to start-put an end to it. Have a family meeting about it. Father is part of the family too!! If you care, He should care.!Don't give up. Much luck🍀🍀

Whenever I do a deep clean or declutter, I put everything that’s definitely being thrown out into black trash bags and everything that can be recycled or donated into white trash bags. That way it is so much easier to sort where everything is going

I worked full time shift work for 34 years-working 60 hours one week and 24 the next week. As I got older and had grandchildren I babysat them full time on my days off in between my shifts. I never had a housekeeper either. I found keeping myself organized, always finishing the dishes, don’t take laundry out of the dryer until you’re ready to fold, cleaning the fridge before doing groceries, top to bottom cleaning every two weeks. This routine always helped me so much to keep the house clean

@@SimplyAlexandra thank you so much for saying that. It wasn’t always easy but my parents did it for us as well so we wanted to do it for our granddaughters. We are retired now and our girlies are 14 and 12 so don’t require too much babysitting. We still do all the school sports and doctors appointments but we love spending time with them. ❤️
When I was a SAHM I had a cleaning schedule and in loved it!! It took about 30 minutes to do a small something each day. Being back to work it’s been so hard to find a cleaning schedule and I really miss having one.

Alexandra, I would suggest purchasing a Tineco vacuum/mop.
It literally is life changing when you have hard surface floors. I asked for mine for Christmas and it is my favorite appliance followed closely by my gas/converion/air fryer range. You are a sweetheart. Thanks for all the motivation and for being “real”.❤
I have one and love it so much!! I need to share it more. What I really need is an easily accessible place to charge them though that's the toughest part.

I really enjoyed this I'm feeling like I'm not alone doing it all , I don't have a housekeeper I prefer to do it myself I need to get it clean my way , I can't have kids but I'm a care taker for my sister I have to prepare her breakfast and lunches for a program she goes to for people with disabilities when she's gone is when I can can get things done

Even if you got a housekeeper, they would really only be good for actual cleaning. No one can really tidy like a mom can.
