USB to Ethernet

To be clear, my chromebook does not have an ethernet port. This adapter will allow me to plug directly into a router/modem right?

Do you need an Ethernet driver to use the adapter ?

Yes, you still need the device driver. Windows comes with a lot of device driver so hopefully you won't need to install it. In the case of this USB ethernet adapter, the adapter includes USB storage which contains the device driver.

can I use it in s laptop that doesn't have any rj45 ports from origin?

As long as it has a USB port you can use it.
