I bought a red HRV Sport a few days ago. I absolutely love it. I wasn’t expecting remote starting, so it was a thrilling addition.

Got a '23 EXL 5 months ago, needs 20 more HP and it would be ideal sub-compact for the masses.

I bought a 2023 Honda HRV Sport in the Milano Red color a little over a year ago and I love it too. This is like the perfect vehicle in my personal opinion and it looks good in any color. I think the Sport trim is the best. At least for me it is as I needed some of the features that the LX doesn’t and I didn’t need all of the features that the EXL has as I don’t like Sunroofs. Drives very similar to a Civic.

Nice review brother. This car impressed me. It does not ride like a cheap cuv. Ride quality is better than many cars I've driven and interior quality felt high for the price point. Great value and overall package forsure.

Just got mine today in Edmonton Alberta ( St Albert just outside of Edmonton ) Our winter's can be ruthless here. The AWD and reliability with a small young family are undeniable. If I wanna go quick I have a 2016 Civic Touring 174HP turbo that whips around pretty good.
I retire in 13 years, I will get my Mercedes or All electric SUV when the time is right. For now this is perfect. Very happy with my purchase .

I bought an HRV for my wife. We already own a 2021 CRV but I gotta say I was impressed by the ride quality of the HRV. It sometimes feels like the CRV not by the space but how it feels when driving it. It feels very well planted. Sometimes even better than the CRV. Not bad Honda.

I would loved have been able to get this when my family was young.
0-60 in less than 10. Not so bad. I saw cars in the 70s & 80s that took close to 15 seconds.

I find amusing that people say well the Toyota Cross and VW Taos are better cars and yes they are more powerful but what people fail to connect is the price points. On October 21st 2023 the Cross and Taos are costing at the dealerships 32-36 grand so for a lease this would be approx $440-$480 a month whereas the HR V Sport is found at the dealerships from 26-28 grand and to lease it it is $330-350 a month. That's the reality of a HRV sport at 158 HP vs a Cross at 169HP.

Dude, you're driving my next Car! Love the color. Love the solid feeling Climate knobs! Rear space I love! And that Motor! It screams reliability! One of my favorite infotainment/ Driver cluster displays in all of the vehicle's Ive test driven. My current driver is a 2013 1.8 litre, 133 hp/121 ft torque Chevy Sonic, so it would be a nice, subtle upgrade! And it's almost a twin to the 2024 Chevy Trax, with a 1.2 litre TURBO , Direct injection ( Carbon Building 45-60,000 mile expect to die motor) it looks sporty like the Trax. But Hondas feel like 300,000 + is attainable!

I plan to get a FWD Urban Grey Pearl Sport. It would be nice in Boost Blue Pearl, but it looks great in this white pearl with the black contrast, especially if white is your thing. I normally would not get white, but it would be a consideration. The Sport should come with the optional accessory black exterior emblems included.
Equipment not included in this trim would be nice, but like the Civic Sport, it is equipped as is to keep the cost at a certain price point and it's well equipped and the sweet spot of all three trims. Leather seats, front/rear parking sensors and a front 12volt outlet and a map storage pocket behind the left/driver's seat would be nice for the OCD factor. Also a rear seat fold down center armrest and cupholders, and a few other things, but no biggie.
They should come out with a Sport Touring like the Civic with the 1.5L turbo, the other upgrades with that trim, and the Bose stereo.
I believe the acceleration should be enough for me. Power is otherwise sufficient from their very reliable N/A 2.0L engine. Two options to increase performance would be a K Tuner set up, or the easy to install and remove Pedal Commander. The setup for both should work using the one from the Civic with the same engine.
I live in Honolulu, HI. When I go to configuration on the Honda website, it states that the Sport has a manufacturer upgrade included for the bland spot and rear cross traffic monitoring package.
I agree they should offer the turbo 2.0L in an Si performance version with the Bose stereo. Or at least the Si version of the turbo 1.5L with 200 HP, 222 actual in OEM form. I don't see the Type R happening, and you don't need it for a vehicle this type.
I would probably upgrade the speakers and amp with Rockford Fosgate Ounce series later.
The tires may not be considered top tier brand like Michelin, Pirelli, etc., but they are OEM in lots of expensive cars. And this is not an ultra performance vehicle, so it does fine, but you could always upgrade the tires when they need replacement.
The N/A 2.OL has the reputation as a solid engine that is dependable, reliable, with high longevity, like the Civic with this engine. The Honda CVT like Toyota is among of the best.
Overall great vehicle, with more practical cargo utility than the Civic Sport Hatchback. And no auto start/stop!

Considering buying in a year. This was helpful. It looks comfortable and can fit everything. I’m thinking this or the cross. The vw is too expensive to repair and the sabaru is too expensive for my pocket.

Bring back the ultra reliable and tried and true 2.4 liter engine in the HR-V. It would give it a well needed boost of power while keeping it naturally aspirated. I know its a cheaper SUV, but maybe offer it on the upper level trims? Awesome review as always man!

    • @WTFCRLT1
      @WTFCRLT1  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Thanks man and that’s a great call! I loved the 2.4 in my ILX I’m not sure why they’d permanently switch to the weaker feeling 1.5T across all trims. I’d still take either as a sportier option for the HR-V 👍🏼

I have a 2020 Sport which is a great vehicle overall except for the engine which is underpowered. Even though the new model has the more powerful Civic engine it still needs the 1.5L Turbo engine to be competitive.

I have owned 321 cars in 55 years of driving. Please have your hearing checked! Hankook Kinergy GT All Season tires are the absolute loudest tires I ever have experienced! Upon buying a new HR-V Sport, I junked those loud Hankook tires and acquired the very quiet Nokian WRG4 All Weather tires. For you to suggest Hankooks Kinergy GT isolate road noise is pure nonsense! Honda's HR-V Seats are an improvement over last generation but lacks side bolstering and needs more padding on the bottom. Back doors should open 90' but they do not. No center arm rest in rear and no center vents or cell phone plug in's. Look for a hybrid in the near future. I chose this for the 2.0 liter none turbo, port injection engine for long life & dependability. A cvt transmission is not my ideal transmission, but that said, Honda does make one of the better cvt's. For good looking practical compact Sport SUV at under $30k the new Honda HR-V is a great buy.
