@@ronnellhillman7260 Righr but the point is, Telesco and AP wanted a QB and we know they either wanted JDan or Penix. And that tells us they know AOC and Minshew aren't starters. Raiders always do bonehead draft picks. They always draft the player that has the most speed in the combine. You don't draft another tight end first round when you picked a tight end at 35 last year. Let your tight end develop before you waist a first round pick on another. Raiders are complete boneheads at drafting.

Acho's take on the raiders is truly foolish. they could not move up they didn't have the draft capital and or the teams didn't want to trade down so what do you expect to happen here. Grab QB that doesn't fit your scheme or system because you need just any quarterback?.. Its so foolish. if he said he was disappointed in the Raiders draft then that is valid but that was clearly not his point.
Brock Bowers is the best tight end (weapon) prospect in draft history and JPJ was the best center in the draft. I'm a Bears fan through and through but not all these QB's will make anything out of their careers. The Bears best Two QBs were Sid Luckman and Jim McMahon, i witnessed at least 70 QBs Bobby Douglas, j Cutler avg at best. Raiders don't listen to anyone build that team up, than get your guy.
this guy is clueless....let's go back to this piece and see which QB drafted outplays AOC. 3-0 against the AFC West. He scored the most points in a single game in the storied Raiders history. They had the number one Defense in the NFL when AP took over. Their first two picks were the best players in their position. AOC would be a top three in this year's draft. We deserve smarter people doing analysis
I think the argument could be they seen how many qbs got hurt last year and seen how valuable a backup qb can be + he’s future and they second best qb on their boards. Idk I still thought pick was wild but 🤷🏽♂️
Yeah 66 QB's played last year and I think the number for the past 2 years was like 130 something. There's so many teams that have 2 QB's and they literally just explained how valuable it is to set yourself up down the road for success using the Draft, so what's the real harm? We paid too much for what was widely considered the top free agent in the off-season? Or that we did the thing Drafts are supposed to do and secured the future of arguably the most important position in the sport? Kirk got money cuz he was getting MVP chants halfway in the year. We made sure he'd be willing to play for us because he and his family have history with the city and the team and the expectation to win now is perfectly in place to prove he's still got it. But injuries can cripple a team that is trying to compete (Jets, Browns, 2022 Rams, etc.) and a top 3 rookie QB is in your back pocket if anything happens? That's the stupid thing all of a sudden?? If it was any other team, I swear they would talk this up like it's a great idea and Acho did, as well as (much to my surprise) Skip Bayless and even Ocho
The Falcons actually took a luxury pick last year too. They're rookie RB Allgier just had a fantastic year as a 5th rounder and then they take a RB top 10. It's like they don't have any concept of spreading the resources around. I bet that defense is horrible and they miss the playoffs because of it.
The Falcons know thier situation better then anyone else. My guess is Cousins isn't doing as well as expected with his rehab. Keep in mind, some of the same people whiney about this were some of the same people being whiney about the Chiefs drafting Mahomes 😅
I do like the bears picks but I like Joys nails only. I like the direction of the Berds and even Acho-Tang suit today. Keep it consistent, because you getting no pass lol!🚦 Kirk Cousins played 8 games sacked 17 times ended up with ACL tear. No playoff W's under his belt. If the clock strikes midnight your at least left with Penix. not to shabby. Trent Dilfer won a superbowl... AOC, Brock, Tae, Meyers, Mayers, oh my! Go Raiders!
Hot take that people are gonna hate: Williams will be in the MVP conversation at some point this season. Wins ROTY by a landslide, and bears make the playoffs. Cam Newton had hall of fame Steve smith and put together one of the greatest rookie seasons statistically with over 4700 total yards and 35 TDs. Caleb literally has a superteam (offensively speaking) assembled for him. If he's even a fraction of what the bears are expecting, he should be able to put up some Newton/Herbert type rookie numbers. Personally, I'm calling 4,000+ passing yards, 300+ rushing yards, 35+ passing TDs, and 5+ rushing TDs. I think ints are gonna be the huge question mark. Bookmark this for later, I won't shy away if I'm awfully incorrect lol.
ACHO MADE NO SENSE TODAY BASED ON THE RAIDERS DRAFT! WHY GIVE UP DRAFT COMPENSATION FOR QB’S NOT ON YOUR BOARD.. THEN HE TAKES IT A STEP FURTHER SAYING HE LIKES WHAT THE FALCONS DID INSTEAD? IM SORRY BUT HIS EXPLANATION DEFINITELY DIDNT MAKE ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER. YOU SOUND LIKE THE FALCONS!
Right move, wrong Quarterback. They should've taken JJ McCarthy. He sits for 2 or 3 years behind a high character, pro bowl caliber Q whom you would like him to become. In 3 years JJ is 23, which is still younger than Nix and Penix are now. You then got JJ for 17 more years.
As a raider fan I don't like that. We didn't get one of the quarterbacks, either. But I disagree with your statement, ocho. we all watched a phenomenal backup quarterback Nick Fole's win a Super Bowl with a stack team. I'm not saying we're going to do that, but I'm saying we can compete with Gardner. With a stacked roster, I think that is the goal as an organization right now until we can identify franchise quarterback
Im a Raiders fan and wasn’t happy we didn’t get a QB either but other than the first two picks I’m glad we didn’t mortgage our future to get something we’re not in love with. Those top 2 QB’s were the only ones i would mortgage our future but i don’t think they (those teams) wouldn’t be open to trade for a higher pick. IMO
Always pisses me off how these “experts” say how are the raiders supposed to compete with the chiefs, chargers and broncos like we didn’t just go 4-2 in that same division and finish #2
I feel bad for Penix. He won’t get to start as a rookie, so he won’t go through the growing pains early. Then they’ll trade him or start him in two or three years, he’ll have to go through his growing pains, and they’ll say, “He’s been in the league for 5 years-why isn’t he better!” Then he’ll get benched, bounce around, and end up a backup somewhere
Reed blankership started at safety and balled out last year. This is how I know these people don’t really do research on what they’re talking about. Nobody is just going to come in and take his spot
Joy was on point, we couldn’t move up and AP refused to settle on someone that they didn’t love. They actually need to make a call to Pittsburgh for Fields or make a call to Atlanta to trade for Penix even now if possible . Knock on the door and see if they answer .
It's a two year deal basically for cousins. He ain't gonna be ready come regular season and you'll see Penix in a few games no matter what. Plus preseason.
Even with a bum leg.....he's oodles and oodles ahead of the rookie......an NFL playbook ain't something to scoff at....it takes years to memorize and master a thick encyclopedia of plays and diagrams.....just ask any NFL QB ... how long did it take till they were comfortable enough to call and audible out of a bad play.
@@ck7cu If he has a bum leg he won't even be able to play and we'll see Penix WAY sooner than what everyone thinks in a regular season game. Second, we don't know yet what Penix is compared to cousins. It isn't like cousins has tore up the league or anything.
Why does Dave keep saying he like Michael Penix over and over and then turn around and say that Vegas had him going pick thirteen and he agreed with it? Is it up to Vegas to dictate because if another team would have grabbed him before that, he would still be upset. Now if he turns out to be one of the better Qb's he gets to continue to vomit at the mouth and not be held accountable
Raiders are preparing the team for the next future QB next year. They are doing the smart thing, and covering all the holes. They’re looking into the future rather then now. By next year the team will have a year of experience with the new structure. From there they can go all out on a future QB.
He ain’t wrong though. You can have all the best weapons you want but if you have no legitimate QB to get the ball to the receivers, it’s a wrap. You really think Minshew is capable of dethroning mahomes? I get that the chiefs are your rivals but cmon man be realistic.
@@bly7181 And McCarthy or Nix are? Rattler or any of the other bottom of the barrel QBs in this draft? None of those guys are much better, if at all, compared to Minshew or AOC to waste draft capital.
@@jmcg9329 But that’s a risk you have to take. You have no franchise QB, haven’t won a playoff game in years, you have nothing else to lose. How else do you find a franchise QB if you never draft one? You already know what you’re getting out of Minshew and Aoc. Why not risk it on a QB? What if JJ becomes a stud? What if Nix succeeds? Well then you missed out by not drafting a QB. The raiders are practically admitting defeat by drafting a TE and getting ready to draft a QB next year.
@@bly7181 This is why those who win at gambling don't make those kinds of uncalculated risks. If JJ and Nix are that good, then why didn't the Giants draft them? Or the Titans or Jets? Maybe are looking to run Daniel Jones out. One can argue that Levis isn't good (AOC started 1 more game than Levis and had 400 more yards and 4 more TDs than him). How long is Aaron Rodgers going to last? Just because you don't have a franchise defining QB doesn't mean that reaching in the draft for whatever one is available is a good idea. Look at the Redskins back in the day. They traded the farm for RGIII and have been trash ever since. Maybe Daniels can change their fortunes, but they just got him at the pick they did. Look how Trey Lance worked out. If it was any other team other than the 49ers, it would never be talked down as the worst draft trade in history. We don't have a team like the 49ers. We can't just burn away 3 first round picks and be alright in the end. Draft picks are your assets. If you throw them away when you don't have other assets to prop you up, you will be set back for many years, maybe even decades. If Minshew and AOC are trash as many people like to think they are, well then we are in good position next year to get an actually good QB prospect without wasting years of the draft away. There's less competition for QBs next year.

No excuses Telesco said thry would be aggressive for a QB. And they didnt even draft a Rattler or Jordan Travis. They could have drafted a Rattler or Jordan Travis to have a possible starter that could be a guy to compete vs the 2 back ups we have. Yeah 2 back ups AOC and Minshew
@@toastytopics2614 yea maybe it’s hard to identify a starter past the first round of drafts especially quarterback
@@ronnellhillman7260 Righr but the point is, Telesco and AP wanted a QB and we know they either wanted JDan or Penix. And that tells us they know AOC and Minshew aren't starters. So they are around them more then us. So they know what they see in practice that we don't see.
They could have made a move for Rattler or Jordan at the least. To get someone to compete for a starter position because we never know what they could be. But we know they were very good at college and more specifically Jordan Travis. He fits the jayden Dan play style and only reason why he dropped was he broke his leg. But he has healed up. He was projected to go 2nd or 3rd round. That's how good he was. Go see some film on him.
So they just needed to take a RISK instead of doing nothing at all
Howie also picked up three additional picks in next years draft, while addressing immediate needs.
I don’t feel bad for Cousins, he chased money his whole career. This is what can happen as a result.
Bro what? Isn’t that what every player does?
Nah......i would have had a clause in my contract if the Falcons drafted a QB during my 4yrs at the position......trade me!
Don’t slip in the shower Kirk. 😂😂😂😂😂
Who asked you to feel bad?
For me I’m not mad at him. He’s well taken care of in the long run. I’ll tell ya that👍🏿
7:01 acho was so serious 😂
Acho saying he is disgusted by the raiders who drafted probably the best pass catcher in the draft is dumb as f.. stupid comment.
Raiders always do bonehead draft picks. They always draft the player that has the most speed in the combine. You don't draft another tight end first round when you picked a tight end at 35 last year. Let your tight end develop before you waist a first round pick on another. Raiders are complete boneheads at drafting.
@@chrislong8559you don't even know how to spell the proper waste 😂😂
@ZomegJ bro attack the response not the grammar. Sometimes when typing auto fill on the keyboard fills in and I don't check. That's me being lazy, my bad. We almost all do it. I know the difference between the words. In any case for many years I watched the NFL draft with my buddies who are huge raider fans and they would always feel disgusted. I remember telling them when jawakrus was drafted they thought it was such a great draft pick and I told him he would be a bust, I was right. You guts have a history of drafting for flash and not consistency. Your team is incompetent just like the jets. That first round tight end pick isn't gonna help you win games in your division.

Acho is a Raider hater. Maybe the Raiders only wanted Daniels, and Penix was too injury prone. The Raiders went with the best player available.

As a Raiders fan I’m feeling pretty great if we got both Kelce brothers in the same draft potentially.
Also Mayer has been alright, he’s not a HoF. People act like if you had Hollywood brown you wouldn’t draft Megatron. Lol
Seriously in history! Ok and as far JPJ I’m not sure. I think they will both good possibly all pros but ease up with all the hyperbole.
Bro. The RAIDERS been needing cover corners for over a decade..and fail to trade up for them.
They constantly draft OL and it does not amount to wins
@@macho8503 I gotta go best case scenario with the draft for right now, Caleb could be Manzel but Bears fans hope he isn’t.
I don’t think they’ll be the Kelce brothers; but if I’m going off best case scenario we just picked two major starters for a decade.
@@martinezjames83 Bowers was better at his positron than any corner in the draft. I trust AP to coach up the defense.
Love Dave on the show
Oh here we go another raider hater even if everyone else liked our draft your gonna say it was a bad draft get the F outa here
I'm a Bears fan through and through but not all these QB's will make anything out of their careers. The Bears best Two QBs were Sid Luckman and Jim McMahon, i witnessed at least 70 QBs Bobby Douglas, j Cutler avg at best. Raiders don't listen to anyone build that team up, than get your guy.
What is acho on
this guy is clueless....let's go back to this piece and see which QB drafted outplays AOC.
3-0 against the AFC West. He scored the most points in a single game in the storied Raiders history. They had the number one Defense in the NFL when AP took over. Their first two picks were the best players in their position.
AOC would be a top three in this year's draft.
We deserve smarter people doing analysis
I hope Gardner keeping receipts!
It will be slow going In chicago with this dude trust me on that
Wow Nolan Smith wasn’t even listed on the defense. Watch out for that break out year.
The Falcons actually took a luxury pick last year too. They're rookie RB Allgier just had a fantastic year as a 5th rounder and then they take a RB top 10. It's like they don't have any concept of spreading the resources around. I bet that defense is horrible and they miss the playoffs because of it.
They picked 5 guys on defense on day 2 and 3. There's more than one pick in the Draft
@@Noah_Tindellexactly ppl act like it’s only one round or every top ten pick is going to work out
The Falcons know thier situation better then anyone else. My guess is Cousins isn't doing as well as expected with his rehab.
Keep in mind, some of the same people whiney about this were some of the same people being whiney about the Chiefs drafting Mahomes 😅
Chargers had one of the best drafts but acho don't wanna talk about that
I do like the bears picks but I like Joys nails only. Go Raiders!
no one wins until the players prove themselves.

As a 49ers fan i thought raiders aquired some solid players. Yes they do need a qb but they certainly had a good draft
I love seeing Dave back on the show. I know he's been on sparingly here and there, but this show feels more balanced with his journalist takes.

Acho is so annoying
Joy dead wrong about the bills… WR position arguably the deepest position…

Falcons had a smart draft . In a few months you’ll see
As a raider fan I don't like that.
Fields>Minshew for best backup
Saw one in the pro bowl and the other one ran out of town
My New Orleans Saints had a good draft this year. I’m really looking forward to see what Spencer Rattler does with us.
Im glad my eagles got some DBS. Slay and James was garbage last year.
And they're aging! Very happy 2 have some youth back there!
IMO
Howie got tired of all those “Georgia Dawgs” and went and scouted some actual players.
Y’all always down on the Raiders. You think the falcons blowing their pick had anything to do with us not getting a QB?
If Atlanta don’t draft penix at 8 he was definitely gonna fall to the raiders at 13
We beat mahomes and Herbert with AOC lmao
Mahomes yes Not Herbert he was out
Aoc had a better game than Herbert. When they played each other.
Always pisses me off how these “experts” say how are the raiders supposed to compete with the chiefs, chargers and broncos like we didn’t just go 4-2 in that same division and finish #2
They can replace Acho with Dave …and keep james jones ! Acho isn’t authentic at all. Now I see why she’s always attacked

Cardinals got a the top 2 receiver and a top 2 running back in the draft. They did very well.
They mad Atl playing chess with Cousins with Arthur Blank money.
Falcons did nothing different than Pittsburg did with Justin and Russell.
Pittsburgh didn’t use a top ten pick. They used a 6th for JF and the league minimum for Russ. Very different investments
$100 million guaranteed to Cousins and using the 8th pick on Penix prove your wrong, the two situations are completely different
Kurt cousins is a mid level qb who’s 36.
How can you be mid-level and leading the league last year before he got hurt? And remember young guys get hurt too
Joy was on point, we couldn’t move up and AP refused to settle on someone that they didn’t love.
Keep sleeping on AOC you goofs.
How many times is Acho wrong
Just about every time his mouth moves
